Rude Awakening. [Open]
((This takes place a day or two after Koishi's arrival, give or take.))
The figure of a pink-haired young woman shifted inside one of the tubes at The Bay, the mind-reader stumbling out of her unfamiliar surroundings, and inspecting the curious package that had somehow fallen into her possession. A red, baseball sized eye attached to her body by a series of arteries shifted a little and seemed to stop glazing over. She felt much like she'd overslept, and all three of her eyes felt like they were too heavy. Whether she'd fallen asleep at all was another question, as was the fact that she'd been brought against her will to some strange place without even knowing it.
Bewildered beyond belief, Satori fiddled with the odd piece of technology calling itself a 'videophone'. With technology like this, she expected this was the work of some Kappa project. Or worse still, she might have ended up somewhere on the Outside. This certainly wasn't Gensokyo, and it would explain how unusual this place was. She was more than a little intrigued by this 'Genessia' place after gathering some preliminary information.
As her mind began to piece things together a little more, she realized the gravity of her situation. Her pets were gone, she wasn't at Chireiden (let alone anywhere resembling Gensokyo) and to make matters worse, Koishi wasn't anywhere to be found. Her 'third eye', began to stir, sensing a din of thoughts elsewhere, and she felt there was no choice but to seek out someone who could tell her what was going on, despite that the noise outside would probably end up being the mind-reader's worst nightmare. But she would have to bear it until she could find somewhere quiet to while the time until she figured out what was going on.
And so, the mind-reading youkai, whom even sinful spirits fear, took her first steps into this new land. She hoped everyone at home wasn't missing her too much.

Perhaps Koishi was not a good example of what to expect after all. "Ah, it likely will not be difficult for one such as yourself. In fact, you just may be able to discover more answers than I have."
Satori's expression doesn't bother Satsuki much, it isn't like the Deputy Guardian is well known for being all smiles herself. She doesn't really need to say what's on her mind following the request for help. Her free hand is set upon her hip, leaving her otherwise unmoving.
Oh she'll be willing to help, but there is no way she is leaving the construction site unless she reels in her mind reading. Otherwise she's perfectly fine directing her from where they stand. "I very much understand. And I am certain you noticed I am someone that does not place all of her cards on the table before strangers, Satori Komeiji."
no subject
"Quite so..." Satori replied, her voice in even tones, barely conveying much positivity from her confirmation. "I've noticed you have quite a formidable mind, Lady Satsuki, and I haven't seen many others who possess one much like yours. But do not mistake my reading of your heart and mind as something I do intentionally." she adds with with a very faint hint of annoyance laced into her deadpan statement of fact.
Her third eye narrowed slightly as it shifted to watch Satsuki again, as if it was still somewhat suspicious of this human, although trusting her as a result of her unique circumstances. "My kind isn't one that can simply turn on and off this power. Nevertheless, I'll aid you with any issues regarding my sister. Somehow, I doubt that will be the end of her business with you, unfortunately."
She sighed deeply and looked rather weary for the moment, unsure of what else to say. "...Any misunderstandings that may arise will clear themselves up in time. Once I've made sure that Koishi won't run off again, I hope that we'll meet again on somewhat better terms. For the time that I'm here, I at least intend to learn more about this place. And I have a feeling that I'll learn rather quickly."
Not a problem!
That said, Satsuki at first seems doubtful at the satori's claim, then reluctantly acceptant if not a little sympathetic. If it's 'always on' that must make things extraordinarily difficult for the older Komeiji. "I had a feeling you would say that, the little one has clearly grown attached to me." she murmurs with a shake of her head, "I suppose it is not completely inconvenient, but your assistance would still be appreciated."
That said, she has a soft spot for proactivity, so even if the deputy has concerns about the satori, she would gladly encourage her to investigate. So she raises her comm device to her lips. "That said, I shall provide you a ride. Nova City, I am afraid, possesses considerably worse noise pollution so the least I could do is get you there as quickly as possible. I will also contact the desk to allow you to rest in the lobby if you so wish."
She reaches behind her and withdraws a folded sheet of paper. "You may find this helpful; a basic map of Genessia. As you can see, connected to the North, East, West and South are archways that lead to sub-cities. Your sister has mentioned interest in exploring Fayren, to the south." Satsuki's help might appear to come from nowhere at first; but should Satori pick it up, the building that is being constructed is the beginnings of a newcomer learning center.
Re: Not a problem!
"At least that will be a step in the right direction...as for this 'Fayren' place, I assume that there's a reason why Koishi is so fixated on it? It doesn't take all that much for her to be interested." She gives a weary little sigh and decides it'd be easier to wait for Satsuki's transportation for the time being. "It seems that place you're overseeing is expected to make this entire process easier...at least if others come this way, they'll have less organization difficulties, overall."
The mindreader eventually adds... "Nevertheless, we'll see how things branch out from this point, once I can start thinking properly, again. As I said, I appreciate your help so far, Lady Satsuki...let us hope that it will be enough to safely see my sister and I through this confusion."

It's a shame it'll get destroyed in a weeks time by certain Lucifers!
"That is the main idea. I am also working on a larger project that will, hopefully, get the majority of us on the same page and start seeking some answers." Satsuki's been having a rather frustrating time getting the ball rolling, which of course isn't the satori's problem. "I must admit, at this point, I am looking forward to it now that there is someone that can reign her in. She has particularly expressed interest in demonstrating what she calls 'danmaku'."
"Anyhow, it is no trouble, particularly since I am already here. But if you find you have any other questions, feel free to ask- ah, which reminds me you may wish to know of an entity called 'CPU'. It can be contacted via your device and is capable of granting or denying small requests like amenities you may need. I did not tell your sister this, for obvious reasons. It may be of use to you."
Next thing she knows she'd come home to a giant bounce castle in her living room. The ride doesn't take long to arrive, as a car can be seen coming toward them from the distance.
(Fixed!)
She settled with a simple nod of her head, deciding to clear some of the immediate confusion right away. "Where we hail from, our kind live underground. It may take her time to adjust to a lifestyle change such as this and she must be thinking of home, after all..."
With a little exasperation in her voice, she added. "Anything related to danmaku will have to wait. The last thing I'd need is Koishi trying to pick a fight against someone who might seriously harm her, and I'd rather not entertain those thoughts when I haven't tracked her down. She may not realize that some will not go easy on her if angered..." Her third eye shifted slightly but looking a bit more accepting of her aid. "I trust we're going to be keeping in touch, Lady Satsuki? If you can tolerate myself and my sister, of course. Not many do for very long, I'm afraid, but I would sleep much safer at night knowing that I have somewhere to run if someone throws a brick through my window..." What a harsh thing to say. Of course, her tone suggested she'd actually been the victim of such abuse in the past.

"Very well." Satsuki didn't think it would be so dangerous, but she's willing to take Satori's word over her younger sisters and they were perfectly acceptable points (from the youkai's point of view) anyway.
Speaking of being more accepting, while the Deputy Guardian still feels a little uncomfortable, she seems to feel the same way. She'll simply have to adjust, though hopes that the satori doesn't take her more devious thoughts personally. "I am always available to be contacted," she replies, though the offer isn't from the kindness of her heart. The potential the two possess to be useful rings pretty strong- No, even stronger now that there is someone who could reign the flightier satori in. "I cannot speak for everyone, but Genessia as a whole seems to be more accepting toward the more 'fantastic' of humanoids. Still, I believe I understand your feelings and would be open to negotiating a means for the both of us benefitting from a nearby stay."
(Pardon the slowness!)
While she didn't face Satsuki, Satori turned to face the vehicle and took a few steps closer, her third eye focused on locking with Satsuki's eyes, narrowing faintly in frustration. "Whatever reasons you have for thinking those things, I'd kindly ask you to avoid that train of thought when dealing with myself or my sister. Or we may not get along as swimmingly as you hoped...I may start believing this entire city is full of those who may have similarly fleeting thoughts."
Satori stepped into the car somewhat hesitantly... "Out of respect, I'd ask you to recall if you've ever been manipulated, before. I hope it stirs something if this happens another time." Her voice was rather flat as she added... "I'd like to see my sister. She must be very lonely, by now..."
(Never apologize, worth the wait!)
However what she can't hide is that the third eye is rather unsettling. She's so used to Koishi's being closed, and it's difficult to tell what to make of it. It isn't until she seats herself that she speaks again, "There appears to be some confusion, Satori Komeiji. I am here to lead, guide, and find answers and I shall take any measures to do so efficiently- No exceptions will be made." i.e. she flatly denies the youkai's first request. She believes whether they get along or not is irrelevant so long as their goals are the same.
Satsuki is very stubborn.
"That said, should you decide to sever ties once you have reunited with your sister, know that I will not take it personally." beat "I have work to return to. If you find the ride unsatisfactory, or have other questions, do not hesitate to contact me." the raven haired woman turns away, intent to leave it at that, but the abrupt howl of the not far off steam-whistle signifies that it is now quitting time.
Well. That is a little embarrassing.
Re: (Never apologize, worth the wait!)
And, fittingly enough, Satori, realized that there was no point in alienating someone equally useful to her... "If it pleases you, I suppose I'll share whatever mysteries I unravel in this strange place as long as you'll continue to provide your own answers. That way, we'll both have our precious efficiency underway." While somewhat sarcastic and annoyed, her bitter tone held an element of truth. While it may take me some time, I believe there is much we can learn from eachother, regardless of whether I associate with you or not." She paused slightly... "Against my nature, I'd prefer a deeper understanding of this place over petty social disputes."
no subject
The smaller woman's sarcastic tone doesn't really bother her, though. When Yukihime does it, Satsuki can't help but feel somehow she's being teased while Satori is simply annoyed. She can understand that. "I would, indeed, appreciate that. And of course I am hardly against such a relationship." Beat. "It appears work is over, however, so I must request that you tolerate me for a while longer."
After closing the door for her company, she walks about the vehicle, enters from the other side, then takes a moment to reflect on if there was anything else important that her company can use, but something else is nagging her: the apparent closeness of Satori and Koishi's relationship. She would like to see them reunite, and maybe get a basic idea of how sisters should properly act.
Don't worry, I'm still alive! c:
She paused a little, her third eye relaxing some and focusing on Satsuki, albeit, a little less apprehensively. "The life of a Satori Youkai is rather difficult, Lady Satsuki. Imagine being constantly under vigilance by your own peers, who see your thoughts as clearly as you see theirs. Lying does not exist, nor do concepts of secrets or deceit. In theory, it seems to be quite a perfect thing." Her third eye narrowed, as did her two normal ones, all three watching Satsuki with an air of contempt. Presumably due to some painful memories resurfacing. "Its perfection was hollow. We grew tired of that place, and left. There's nothing more to be said about that, save for the fact that I've essentially taken up our mother's role in supporting the both of us."
Satori shut her eyes and sighed somewhat as she continued to explain... "More to the point...When Koishi severed her connection to her third eye, her personality changed completely. For years, my own sister was completely alien to me, as if a different person had taken her place. Despite not quite being the same Koishi I used to know, the one I grew up with...she's the one I've grown used to. So I put up with her childish behaviour and her unusual ramblings, wanderings and other such idiosyncracies out of love. I'd be as much of a monster as others' claim if I left her behind." She added, after another pause, her voice still deadpan... "Does that answer your unspoken question? If you're still curious, I'm sure you'll be able to see how she reacts to my presence, shortly."
Of course. Just as I planned!
Satori is right, for a moment Satsuki does think it sounds perfect. At least, perfect for herself. It is disappointing to hear it did not work out, really. The idea of Koishi having once behaved completely different is one she can fathom- actually it is one she can relate to in a way. The tale makes the Deputy Guardian see Satori far more 'human' than before. "That does, Satori Komeiji. I appreciate you taking your time to answer. I suppose I should explain why the question came to mind." she murmurs as the vehicle takes off to Nova City.
"I have recently been reunited with my own sister. In my world our relationship was.. Different." As in they were unaware they were related and lived seperate lives. But that has changed now, and she's uncertain how to deal with it. Eventually Satsuki gives an forced chuckle, ".. Then again, it has nothing to do with you, does it. Forget I said anything."
Keikaku Doori! ~( o)~
"I hope that your sister will overcome her 'differences' and understand you. That is all I can say about the situation, considering how you seemed to look upon her as an enemy of sorts. I felt the faint wisp of antagonism moving through your mind as you spoke." She also gave a faint smile and a chuckle. "If I could offer you my opinion...Family is a bond that no hatred or rivalry can erase, so I suspect things may improve, someday. But we've something in common, even if it is rather small."
Going to skip this ahead a bit!
And despite steering it away from siblings, the Deputy Guardian is most certainly appreciative of Satori's opinion.
Nova City is a dazzling display of lights, absurdly tall structures, floating landmarks and various forms of advanced technology. She does her best to explain what various things do, but it perhaps goes over her company's head. Eventually they reach a sleek apartment complex, and the ride ends in the building's parking lot.
Satsuki steps out from the vehicle, then motions for her company to follow her to the elevator. "Ah, here we are.. A place like this is rather quiet for us humans, but.. How is it for you?"
Better late than never! ~( x)~
Satori, however, did keep up most of the time and rather calmly followed her to the elevator. At least she was a little more knowledgeable about this place, even if there was much to learn. Her response was a rather simple one.
"It's still a little noisy. But I'll endure it, if I must, for my sister. I'll...have to tune out what I can, so to speak..."
no subject
"Well said."
Satsuki doesn't have to press anything to make the doors open; the elevator could be described as 'elegant'. The back of it has a holographic projection of fish swimming in water, and the device has the apperance of being made entirely of glass. All she says is 'home' and the lift beeps followed by swift movement upward.
Satsuki doesn't bother keeping up conversation at this point, she's already thinking about what she needs to accomplish tomorrow, and trying to figure out where she can squeeze Ryuko into the schedule.
The view of the basement switches to a lobby, then a black wall, then finally outside as it heads up to the topmost floor. Upon reaching the top floor the hologram fades to reveal the opening glass doors behind it, which leads the pair to a hallway decorated with large pottery in the windows and, eventually, a smooth, wooden door to her apartment.
Also worth noting that the sound of the door unlocking can be heard with a gentle whirr and click as they approach it.

"Koishi, I'm here."
Satsuki might probably know that getting her attention was the easier part.
Smooooooch!! ~( –)(o )~
It all happened very quickly. A yellow and green blur of only half visible movement. It collided with Satori and clung, sending them both tumbling to the ground, blue tendrils already wrapping themselves multiple times around Satori.
It shouldn't be possible to be as happy as Koishi was at that moment. She was babbling incoherently, laughing, squishing her cheek against Satori's. From the bits and pieces that could be discerned it seemed the younger sister was attempting to inform Satori of all the things that had happened up to the point of her arrival, but none of it was really getting through. Surprisingly enough, Koishi had sidestepped slightly at the last minute, sparing Satori's third eye any impact, the little sister's own now nuzzling it.
Then Sats' teeth fall out from alllll the sweet
It's true that getting Koishi's attention is the 'easy' part. Thouh Satori likely doesn't have the problem of having to perceive her first. .. Actually, Satsuki should have asked about that earlier, as the demonstration before her doesn't really answer the question.
It is pretty cute, though.
While her expression could be described as 'awkward' she is pleased by the explosion of happiness. It's almost overwhelming, really. And so Satsuki decides to stand at the sidelines for the time being, observing.
Pardon my slowness, classes and nonsense!
She wiggled a little bit in order to get herself comfortable and hugged Koishi back a little. "Hush, Koishi, you can tell me all about it, later. Has Lady Satsuki been taking good care of you?" She was already overwhelmed as things were, and Koishi might be able to sense her underlying worries beneath her pleasant expression.
Satsuki should join the snuggle pile!
Koishi paused, blinking and sitting up, tentacles still wrapped loosely around Satori. "So much red and yellow and sharp silver. All floating up and up and twisting around." She pulled her sister up into a sitting position, cradling Satori's head against her shoulder. She wrapped her mental void around her sister's mind, and eye, blocking out the multitude of thoughts pressing against it.
"Is that better?" Her third eye was still nuzzling her sister's, though it was far more relaxed than before.
Never apologize, worth the wait! ... And never. :|
"Why don't you two head inside?" Satsuki offers, and while she is trying to be polite, it would be obvious to Satori that the Deputy Guardian wants her tea. In fact the scent of said liquid soon escapes from the inside, which would suggest that either Koishi knows how to make tea, or there's another person inside who's been having difficulty keeping the hatted satori from moving things around everywhere.
The snugpile shall wait. For now!
Of course, the scent of tea draws her attention. "I certainly wouldn't mind, after all you've done to help me, so far." Her voice was still somewhat emotionless, but it was clear she felt some gratitude towards Satsuki. "Some decent hospitality is a relief, after all of this." she muttered, heading inside and making sure Koishi didn't run off, somewhere.
Aww... Okay... :(
"Sis you need to not be in places with so many people. It's noisy." She leaned over, resting her head against her sister's shoulder, clinging to her sister's arm. "I missed you so much though."

The Deputy Guardian rarely, if ever, has to play hostess, so it actually is a little strange for her to be tending company in this way- a gothorita only makes so great a butler after all.
It begins! ~( o)~
At least as far as 'normal' applied to someone of her sister's ilk.
The mind-reader eyed the curious maid-creature with a strange look, as if she wasn't sure what it was. It was somewhat cute, in a strange way, and felt a little familiar to her... "How curious...Lady Satsuki, I wasn't aware you had this sort of pet to serve you. It seems very docile, though...do you mind if I ask how you acquired it?" Unusual pets were one thing, and this was as unusual as she'd seen. Some sort of maid-youkai, perhaps?
You mean the tentacuddling? ~(– )~
"Miss White? I put out the things to make tea for you. Because they weren't out and I wanted to be helpful." Sure enough the makings for the tea had been set out, though Koishi hadn't boiled the water. It was probably better that way. Absent mindedness and stoves usually don't mix well.
But I don't have a third eye...
"Pet.. Oh, yes. Well, several months ago, another archway opened that led to a world inhabited by these wild creatures called pokemon. A contest was held in which whomever collected the most would win a prize and we were allowed to keep one at the contests' end." Satsuki explains, "This one is called Gothorita, and her previous form was called Gothita. She possesses psychic, telekinetic, and limited hypnotic abilities."
[THIRD EYE INTENSIFIES]
"The way you've described her, in some ways, this being and I share some abilities...at least in terms of psychic power and hypnosis. Telekinesis is something that still evades me..." Satori paused for a moment, watching Koishi and then turning back to Satsuki once more. "Nevertheless, your Gothorita seems very useful to you. It is a shame that I hadn't arrived earlier, to pick up a pet of my own..." She sighed somewhat, shaking her head. "While I enjoy your hospitality, there's much I still don't know. Forgive me if it takes some time to...adjust.
So intense...
"Package?" She drifted down a little bit. "The door jingled. And when I figured out how to open it there was a box outside. I didn't know what the box was but it was left there so I thought maybe someone left you a present. I put it in your room."
"I like the little creature. She's very cute. I'm not sure she likes me though. She doesn't like it when I try to pet her and shies away." Understandable. Koishi probably felt like a dark type to her... Or maybe she just didn't like being pet.
*backs away slowly*
She hasn't succeeded.
She also seems to have adjusted to Koishi hanging around, though her way of dealing with it pretty much amounted to ignoring her- Satsuki isn't really known for making small talk. "Gothorita has proven so, yes. Both inside as well as outside of battle. But she seems to be happier performing tasks such as these, really."
Though Koishi is right; Gothorita only sees Satori as a confusing annoyance, but not enough of one to attack.
"Actually you will find there are alternatives. While there are not many creatures here in Nova City, there are plenty in other areas. But given your.. abilities, I admit it is a little difficult to recommend a particular spot to explore. That said there is no need to apologize." Satsuki offers, then finally has enough of the other girl bobbing beside her. "How about you show your sister the radio, Koishi."
After a thousand years, I'm FREE! (sort of)
Satori seemed at least intruigued at how Satsuki had adapted into the society, to a degree. She briefly wondered if she'd be in the same position, eventually welcoming newcomers into the city and showing them where to go, what to do.
Then again, a woman as seemingly undaunted as Satsuki seemed to Satori to be under some degree of pressure, considering her position within it. "I'm sure I'll find something that suits me, at least. Animals and other simple beings have a way of uniquely attracting my attention. Even your Gothorita seems satisfied with its lot. It thinks little of the complexities and implications of its duties."
Satori gave a small smile to Koishi's excitement, but silently hoping that she wouldn't end up being bothersome. Perhaps the radio might distract her...
Satori had heard of this 'radio' device before. Perhaps from stories of those more technologically savvy, or Koishi's wanderings through the land of Gensokyo. "...I believe Koishi once told me about a 'radio'. At one point, she came into contact with the Kappa, skilled at machinery and engineering, and there was a 'radio' of sorts amongst their devices that slipped in from the Outside World." Her third eye focused on Satsuki for a moment before she added. "I'm curious...Is it the same sort of one that you saw, Koishi?" She'd gleaned details from their host's mind about it as soon as she'd mentioned it, but she felt it would be best to involve her sister a little more, if only to keep her happy.
But you're not even 500 years old yet...
"The radio!" At least the distraction worked.
The little satori darted over to it, gesturing for her sister to follow as she began fiddling with the buttons. It was, fortunately, a digital radio so there was little chance of Koishi ending up stuck on pure static, but still...
Koishi eventually managed to find the on switch and a slightly too loud voice filled the room of a man talking in an overly excited fashion about the week's weather. Koishi jerked back a little in surprise, falling out of the air onto her rear. "Ah! Look! It's working!" She fell upon it again just as quickly, fiddling, turning and pressing buttons until she found a station with an opera singer of all things, the volume still slightly to loud to be comfortable.
Glory to Hypno-Satori!!!
Perhaps once things settle down she can dedicate more hours to it, but that's a matter for her to think about at a later time.
"Is that so.. I confess that is not the kind of utility I would expect of a kap-" Then the music blares and the rest of her sentence is lost in sounds. "-pa." The young lady raises her hand to her face, then sighs. But she isn't upset; while Koishi has been an annoyance, Satsuki also isn't willing to cut her out of her life so easily. (On the other hand, could she do that even if she wanted to?).
And poor Gothorita ends up jumping in surprise to quickly look back at Koishi with an annoyed glare. Of course it was her. Of -course-! She hurries over to the younger satori and proceeds to assault her with annoyed chatter. Turn that music down!
Sis to the Rescue!
Satori's own face was blank, in concentration, while her third eye seemed to express the emotions that were out of sight, at times. She turned back to Satsuki and continued her conversation as if nothing had happened, since the music was at an acceptable volume, for now. "...In our world, the Kappa gained mastery of technology enough to help assist with the nuclear reactor within our home of Chireiden, far below the earth. Koishi had told me that they sold their technology in yearly sales."
Satori added, shrugging a little, her third eye relaxing... "To be honest, when I first arrived here, I'd assumed I'd been taken to a hidden city of theirs. I wonder if they might've made it, as well?"
Can it be hug tiem nao plz?
Instantly Koishi fell upon her, hugging her tightly. "Thank you Sis!" She didn't let go, third eye drifting up to nuzzle her sister's. "The kappa aren't this advanced sis. They're advanced though and I like sitting and watching them work. They put so many little things together when they build things. I love it!"
No. :|
The Deputry Guardian's finished preperations at last, so carries a silver tray over to the coffee table. The teaset she has is pretty nice, she's been rather particular about what she spent her money on since her budget has been a bit of a roller coaster. "Here you go. This is jasmine tea, you may add sugar cubes or cream as you see fit from these dishes." she offers, "I couldn't say, but if there were it is unlikely they would be 'your' kappa, per se."
"So.. Now that you sisters are back together, I was thinking it is almost time you help your elder sister find a place to settle in," she then says to Koishi. ".. I feel Fayren would be a suitable and less-noisy place to settle."
Don't make her throw you out like Jazzy Jeff, Koiball.
