Genessia; Park
[Today was one of the days where she remembered to exercise the Pokemon. Her plans for opening a gym had been put on the back burner, mostly because she still wasn't exactly sure if people actually wanted such a thing. After all, she didn't get much back when she mentioned it, after all, so she really had no idea.
But it did make her wonder a little more about what she could do to help people here. She knew that people wanted to leave and she wanted to help them... She just didn't know what exactly she was good at to even attempt to help them go in the right direction. She seemed a little lost in thought as her Pokemon had decided to wander off and go visit people who were wandering around the park. Sniffing around of generally trying to befriend people.
It might also come off as an annoyance to some at how close they were being to.]
Nova City; Arcade and Lovematching
[Chiaki had headed to work, her pokemon having been tired out from the park before which meant they were fast asleep at the apartment. She hoped that when they woke up Sync wasn't around when they do because she was pretty sure if someone was there they would try and get food from him.
Chiaki knew what she was doing, she knew a lot of the people, so she went around helping with those who were struggling and when not doing that, she was greeting people by the entrance.]
Hello and welcome~
Genessia; Arcade
[Chiaki found herself standing in front of a small arcade that she had never come across before. In the year and a bit, she had been here she had never come across this. It was enough to get her a little excited and walk in, going to check out what games they had here and if they were any different from what were in the others.
Once she found one, though she found herself playing it over and over, getting a little too focused. So focused that soon her stomach was starting to go off with hunger. But the young woman really didn't notice and instead was trying to finish the level while people had started to gather around. When her character finally died, she sighed with defeat briefly before giving a more determined nod.]
Next time, I will get further.

She'd spotted Chiaki fairly early on after arriving, though mostly as one of a few people who seemed a lot more at home here than Ann was - at least, while she was here without anyone she knew. It was only as she circled back around after checking out everything the place had to offer - and maybe mulling over a few plans to get people together - that she found reason to stop, largely for the gathering crowd around one particular player.
She's not sure it's really her place to interrupt. But she can't be sure that some of the people gathered aren't just waiting for their turn and better to resolve any potential conflict before it can really start, right?]
Well it looked like you were getting pretty far to me. Maybe you just need to take a break for a while?
genessia arcade
More so since she was sure she was going to try again tomorrow when she had the time and pondered a few things over.]
I will take a break. I need to grab something to eat anyway that I'm not focused. [She was also meant to be going home, but got distracted as usual as she looked over at the other, smiling slightly.]
Did you want a go?
no subject
[And there's enough of a crowd that Ann really doesn't want to show herself up. If it were a shooter, maybe she would have something of a chance but for the most part she leaves that to people who are better.
Besides. She definitely doesn't want to show herself up if there's a chance Ryuji could see. She'd never live that down.]
But you know, now you mention it I probably should get some food myself. Do you know anywhere around here that's good?
no subject
It depends on what one wants, you have a variety around here.
no subject
[Guess who's still trying to get a handle on living by herself. So she figures she can't really impose too much, more she's trying to get local knowledge from people who may have been here for longer.]
I'm not even sure what the options are, honestly.
no subject
[She will cook now and again, more so with a roommate around, but sometimes it was just easier after a long day. Though now she thought about it more. She knew what she sort of wanted.]
Well you have places for pizza and burgers. Those are always nice/. Then you have fancy restaurants which I wouldn't recommend until you have a steady income and a good reason. Then you have cafes which are usually your sweet stuff and various other resutrants.
[She smiled happily as she explained.]
There is a good place nearby that I've eaten at a couple times that is cheap but really good.
no subject
[Especially if she was going to keep working as a model - she's not sure how lenient the agency here will be on her but she has a feeling things won't be quite so easy for her this time around.
And oh how she tries not to perk up too much at the mention of sweet stuff. That's really no healthier than ready meals and she's trying to ration her sweets until she can afford not to care.
Still. Cheap but good she can definitely get behind.]
Maybe that's worth checking out then. I mean, I know I'm supposed to be saving to move into a different apartment so I should probably be watching my spending.
no subject
I assume that means you are new and currently live in the commons, right?
[That was something she could guess anyway as she started to walk. She knew where she was going, but for a moment she paused to look around before turning left.]
no subject
[That's the good part about having so many people she knows here - she doesn't have to question the information they give her.
She follows willingly enough, even as she realises she's possibly imposing - they can always separate once they get to this place, she figures.]
You seem like you're a lot more used to the place.

Arcade and Lovematching
Of course, since Chiaki wasn't around...He did feed them. He had still regretted letting his Pokémon go, though he supposed it was best they weren't trapped here. Maybe next time if any come by again, he did acknowledge it would probably be good for him, though that was for his private thoughts only.
At the arcade itself, he stopped by the entrance in some casual clothes since he decided it was an off day.]
Hey.
no subject
Hello, did you come to play a game today?
no subject
Yeah, seemed good to get out today. Got any suggestions?
no subject
[That was her guess anyway as she looked behind her for a moment.]
no subject
Let's do it. What would your next guess be though? Also, if you're busy, it's okay.
no subject
[Second guess, but fighting always was the best bet, even if it involved button mashing really. She turned on her heels and started to walk toward one in the far back.]
Try this one. I'm also not that busy if people need me they will ask.
no subject
Okay.
[Putting in some coinage, he waited for it to start up for him, taking hold of the controls like she showed him. Of course early on, it was going well, but only so much.]
So. How've you been?
no subject
I've been fine really. Not much has been going on with me to warrant any problems. How about you? Even though we live together, we don't always see much of each other.

Genessia Arcade!
case in point: if he were distracted with ryuji, he wouldn't have noticed the small collection of people centered around a girl on one of the machines. she loses, apparently, because most of them disperse, but ren watches her little nod with interest and then turns to approach her. )
Is it co-op? ( he asks, but he's already getting in position for second-player, dropping coins in the slot before tossing her a little smile. ) Two gets you further than one, right?
Genessia Arcade!
[Most of the ones that were seemed to be shooter games after all. It was at least something she paid attention to since most of them she had played at this point. Slowly working her way back to top scores again.]
But you are right, though it also depends on who you are playing with. if you are playing with people who don't know what they are doing, you'll end up doing the same than if you were alone. [Give her a moment though.]
Are you good at video games?
no subject
( she's small but brutal...... )
I actually trained under a gaming master back home, it was pretty grueling so I better be or he might show up here just to embarrass me. Plus, I've sunk hours into the console I keep in my room.
( he fails to mention this "master" was like, ten, and his console is a tiny dinosaur from the 80's, but who needs details? ren picks up the second controller - a red-colored gun - and flashes her an encouraging smile. )
You can count on me, Player One.

[Even though she is the ultimate gamer back home... or... was, she knew she never beat any game first time around. She sunk a lot of time into it to understand patterns and what one is meant to be before she knew what she was doing. But she seemed impressed with the whole gaming master thing though, even if she was looking at the screen.]
What was your master like? [She soon starts up the game, eyes focusing on the screen the whole time.]
no subject
( he laughs; he wouldn't trade shinya for the world, but in terms of a teacher, maybe he would have preferred someone a little more like her. )
They call him The King - probably makes him sound a little full of himself. Which isn't true, because he's super full of himself. ( onscreen, ren pops off three enemies in succession, gore splattering the edges of the screen ) But he's earned it. Literally undefeated, the only guy who ever beat him had to cheat to do it. His favorite game is one a lot like this, actually, called Gun About.
( he shoots off screen to reload before offing another enemy on his partner's side, then tosses her a sidelong glance. )
He's also in elementary school.
no subject
[Like she knew her friends weren't as good at games as she was, but she enjoyed the time they had together playing them when they did. it was how they bonded in the first place. Chiaki's eyes darted over the screen taking out five in a row, even for a video game they seemed like very accurate headshots. Didn't count for anything but considering shooting anything in the head would kill them it seemed logical to do it anyway.]
That's pretty impressive, though I wonder if he was anything like me. [She never had friends so playing games for long periods of time was always a benefit since she was younger.]
no subject
I meant as a gamer-sensei, mostly. But you're right. ( a chuckle; "just have fun" would have been nicer to hear than "you suck" until he got better, but ren knew his training was more significant than that. ) People have different purposes for it though, don't you think? Fun, competition, even escape - it just depends on what you're looking for.
( in his case, they couldn't progress with their mission if he didn't improve his technique, so there was a lot more riding on it. but he appreciates her simplistic view on the matter; he's on the same page with it, in any other context. )
Like you?
( echoed with an inquisitive tone as he shoots a health pack - onto level three! )
no subject
[Considering that was one of the two jobs she had, it was saying something. She starts shooting at some stronger enemies before quickly going to the faster ones.]
Yeah... Though how people get into games is always different, so he might not be anything like me at all.
