[The feed turns on, and there's a bronze trophy sitting on a nightstand. Along with it is a plage reading: "3rd place: Most Likely to Remain Forever Single."]

"Most likely to remain forever single..." [Karla reads the award aloud.] It's not like I could even...even if I wanted to...

[She's got too much on her plate between her jobs as a Schnee Company security guard, and a Deputy Guardian. At least that's what she kept telling herself. And yet she can't help the feeling that a part of her would like to find that special someone one day...]

Of course there's no shame in remaining single...but it's nothing to brag about either.

[And also she can't stop thinking about the fortune that was told at the Valentine's Carnival, despite that she'd said it'd be better not to think about it...]

[The camera then turns to a desk, where several "YOU TRIED" certificates are laid out.]

I don't even know what to think of these. It's not like I really tried anything...

[Depending on how much she knew about the other "winners", it could be Ted's strange way of trying to cheer her up, as if to say "could be worse."]

Oh, a few come to mind. This is, perhaps, the world's way of complimenting your virginal ardor, like Sir Percival. A woman with her eyes set on higher things than the amorous.

Ah, well, there you have it. Doubtless others can sense your unyielding gaze, your unwavering conviction, the constancy of your gait down the singular, one-way path. No suitor would dare disturb a quest so vital.

[That's one theory, anyway. Hopefully it's an encouraging one. Ted, fond as he is of courtship, acknowledges the superiority of being single and devoted.]

Wait, someone actually went to the effort of making awards for that? Why?

[That seems unnecessarily mean, and if this is how third place feels, Ann would hate to think how first and second feel.]

No...no one asked me about any of these. The person who set up these awards just put out the categories, and then people nominated whoever they thought would fit the categories.

Well that's just rude. Why did they need a category like that? I thought awards were supposed to be a positive thing.

One would think so. However, I would think that a question like that should be directed to the person who arranged them...

Well if I knew who that was, maybe I would.

I mean, the awards here are kind of... silly... so don't go and put too much stock in them.

[A couple of them did feel kind of mean spirited, but it's hard to say if that was the intention or not. Still, he's not sure why those particular awards still made it beyond year one.]

Essentially, yeah. Especially since everyone here was sent out the voting cards. Plenty of the options seemed like they got nominated because "haha it's funny" or something like that, y'know?

[Hell, he was deemed best dressed last year and labeled among the worst this year? Who even does that? A dick, that's who.]

And heck, who knows how many voters actually knew who the candidates were. I'm sure most of them didn't know who I was when they voted.

[And somehow he got third place on at least one of them. One a lot more flattering than what Karla has to put up with, sure, but it's not like he was gunning for it.

Though internally he might be a bit bitter about who first place went to. Just a little bit.]

It seems that way. Weiss made some good points about the "worst-dressed" category. I don't understand how people can judge the way others dress. Who can really say why people dress the way they do. Do they dress for looks or for comfort?

[She shakes her head a bit.]

Looks, comfort, practicality, could be any number of reasons. Still not entirely sure why that part of the awards was canceled. I mean, I've got a lot of things I could say about that judge that was chosen for gods only know whatever reason but I--

Who, Gale? Well, if I recall correctly, he wasn't exactly chosen. He volunteered to be a judge.

[It sounds like Mobius doesn't like Gale for some reason, and it makes Karla curious, but she'll keep a lid on that for the moment.]

I don't see why not, but they're dicks if they're using that as an excuse. Watch out for that if it starts happening to you, I'd say.

Sex. That is all a man is good for. So if someone has no interest in such things, they are pretty much useless.

Are you sure that sex is all they're good for? Or is it just what they want? Or what you want?

Well, I guess that is true, but any person is good for that, not just men, so I didn't think about it.

Considering a guy thinks more down there than anything. Saying is that just what they want answers that exact question and proves that is all they are good for.
