[Lea's sitting on the couch in his apartment, looking thoughtful. His Growlithe, Fireball, is laying next to him with his head in Lea's lap, and Lea idly scratches the Pokémon's ears as he talks.]
...What kinds of things do people do when they're feeling down or lonely? Sparring is a good distraction for awhile, but that only goes so far, so I'm looking for ideas.
[And what he did the last time he felt this way is right out for multiple reasons.]

Re: Text
[He learned the hard way. Gee Ted, ya think?]
The effectiveness of that remedy depends on whether you love wisdom as, say, a Greek might. Contemplating things of divinity and the promise of future happiness ought to do better than, say, one like Plutarch or Aurelius.
[Lea will absolutely know who those are.]
Re: Text
[He honestly couldn't recall if he'd been to one as a kid, or if that had even been a thing in Radiant Garden. True, they had plenty of fountains and things, but...
And then there's a bit of a long pause between Ted's next text and Lea's reply caused by Lea just... staring at it. He has no idea who either of those guys are. They sound vaguely like they might be from Olympus Coliseum, but beyond that, he's lost.]
...OK, sorry in advance for the terrible pun, but that's Greek to me.
Re: Text
Goodness, how much inexperience with water do you have? Perhaps Demyx should be consulted.
[In text he can't hear the dorky laugh that pun just got.]
I'll endeavor to accept the apology with due grace. They're Stoics, or close enough; espousing earthly contentment, which is very dry compared to moister things from, say, the saints.
Re: Text
[That makes a bit more sense, but not a whole lot. At least it's enough for Lea to answer promptly.]
Ah, OK. I'll probably take a pass on those books though; they all sound pretty academic, and as any of my teachers would tell you, academics were never really my strong suit.
