This is Elsa. I have no memory of ever leaving here, but I guess I should believe I did, after waking up at the Bay once again.

[At least this time she isn't sneezing tiny snowmen into existence.]

That and the year is... different. It's slightly concerning to have lost two years of time in between without even knowing it myself.

Who all are still here? I would love to hear about what's been going on while I was away. Do I dare to ask if Anna is still around?

[ ANNA IS HERE though she should possibly tell Elsa, that she's been gone too and she has no memories of ever being here before. And maybe it's great that she didn't ask anyone what her sister looks like or how she's like when now she can see Elsa herself ... ........ which is also why Anna ends up just staring on her side of the video like Elsa is the most beautiful and amazing sight, that Anna has ever seen (she's clearly not biased at all, what are you talking about???) ]

[Wow umm like finally after all those closed doors and this is totally not how Anna was expecting anything to happen but oh well hey, she'll roll with it!]

What? Umm no no, I've only been here like maybe two months or so, who really counts you know when time's really trying to fly by... And I mean maybe you should possibly know that I have no memories of ever being here before and I just got here after suddenly bumping into something on your coronation day... Like I was just done with singing a crazy song about how that would be the first time in forever for the gates to open so I mean that was before the coronation even begun or before I met anyone from the world outside the gates and .... Hi. Don't worry about the leaving thing, I'm... wow, you're really here.

[Elsa listens to what Anna says and her smile falters just a little bit. She remembers well how people can come from different times here. It was explained to her by... well, by the previous Anna, who had been from her past. Not this far past.]

So... you don't remember a lot of things that I do. Sounds like we have a lot to talk about.

[Somehow she's still expecting doors or well, device to her face because she's so used to it but she sure is glad when that doesn't happen. ... Wait what, Elsa actually wants to talk??]

Sure! Lots of talking to do, not that you need to worry about talking when I can let my mouth ramble on and on and on or maybe I'll end up going home somehow and then wake up here again with memories of everything this time but but i mean --

[PAUSE. ... LONG PAUSE.]

Does that mean you won't mind if I come over to where you are?

[Elsa smiles more confidently now.]

Please. I'm still here at the Bay.

[Elsa's smiling at her, that's ... Anna can't stop smiling at all.

Except when she says 'please' because that's when Anna looks so stunned and surprised by that word that she almost misses what Elsa says next. Elsa... saying please .... to .... Anna?? How many times has she repeated that word behind Elsa's locked door? How many times has she repeated it everywhere else around the castle and especially when she goes to sleep and tries to pleasepleaseplease everything to change on the next day.

Yeah so good job, Elsa, your sister is actually quiet for a moment but she'd never expect that to be a moment that Elsa doesn't really enjoy. And then Anna is suddenly bursting of excitement and beaming of happines and joy and cheerfully going again.]

Sure, okay! I'll be there as fast as I can!!

[.... not that she's turning off her device even when she starts running, why close it when she can keep her connection with Elsa until she really gets to where she is???]

[She would have to make apologies again for a lot of things from their past... but she won't mind. She'd do anything to make it up for her.]

Just be careful, Anna. So you won't fall down...

{ Wait... it couldn't be. She... she remembers? }

{ If it's true... it's exactly like Terra had said. }

[Indeed, she does remember and she looks delighted to see a familiar face.]

Zeref! I'm glad you're still here. How do you do?

... It's true, then. People can remember their previous time here, if they leave.

{ But then, why didn't Natsu and Lucy remember their previous time here before they left again? Some arbitrary choice by the spirits of who does or doesn't get to remember? Something to do with the weird flow of time in this world as opposed to their own? }

I've been well. What about you? Do you have new memories of your own world?

It seems so. I had not known about that either. I'm glad I'm able to remember, though.

[She really is. It will make things easier for her and others. Zeref, too.]

No new memories, no. I feel like I didn't even leave, which in itself is strange.

{ No new memories... so it's like she jumped forward in time. Is it possible she never truly left this world? Weirder things have happened here, at this point, nothing would surprise him. Still, he won't overwhelm her with his theorizing. She's only just returned, after all. }

It is strange, yes. Genessia has changed a lot over the last few years. Mavis is the current Guardian of Fayren, and the barrier has fallen enough times for all four cities to have developed an entire protocol to respond to the spirits when they get through.

The barrier... did someone forcefully break it or did it fall for other reasons?

Would it be alright if I asked to meet with you? I'd very much like to hear about the changes in person, if you wouldn't mind.

The barriers are nigh-impenetrable. Even my magic is useless against it. They've failed for a variety of different reasons, in the past, and I'm not sure we fully understand them even now.

{ Zeref nodded without hesitation. After all the times he's spoken with Elsa, he trusted her. The idea of being feared and hated for having magic she couldn't fully control hit close to home when they first spoke. It was hardly a surprise that he'd later come to view Elsa as a friend. }

Do you remember where Fairy Haven is? In Fayren?

That is rather concerning.

[Well, the part that says they can't break it with their powers is reassuring, but otherwise she doesn't like the ideal of it failing for one reason or another.]

I think I do. I should go settle in first, but I can come over afterwards.

[It takes Elsa a while, but she holds onto her promise and arrives at the Fairy Haven later that day.]

{ Zeref would be found in the main hall of Fairy Haven. It was a slow day, with few customers, which was why didn't mind waiting here, for once. A steaming cup of black coffee in front of him, Zeref sat in a booth in the far corner of the room, reading the latest issue of the Genessia Tribune. }

[Elsa looks around for a while before noticing him and walking over.]

Good day, Zeref.

{ Zeref quickly pops up from his seat, perhaps a bit more enthusiastically than someone would have expected from him. It had been such a long time since he had last seen her in person, and she had been one of the few here whom he had come to see as a friend. He forces himself, however, to see her appearance here as another case study of the memories of those who leave this world, and then return, and not as genuine happiness to see a friend come back. Anything else would have been... dangerous. }

{ While waiting for the server to approach them, Zeref takes a seat once more. His mood definitely seems to have lifted. He takes a sip of his coffee. }

So you don't remember anything new from your own world? From your perspective, you just went to sleep one night, woke up, and suddenly a year had passed?

[Rapunzel really hasn't met people who remember being here before. More so since they mentioned they lost two years. This world is just full of mysteries it seems.]

Yes. I hadn't realized that's possible, but here I am with my memories.

It is rather strange. Especially since I don't feel like I even left.

I am sure that never the less you'll get back into what you were doing before.

Hmm... well, the arrival and greeting seem to be unchanged from that time. The hologram was also in place. Otherwise, I'll need to see around before I can say how things have changed.

Wow, that really helpful hologram has been here for a really long time.

[She nodded slightly. She was surprised about the hologram but it wasn't long till she was back to her usual self.]

Do you need someone to help you look around, or are you okay?

It has. I was glad for it then and glad for it now as well.

[She smiles.]

I'm meeting my sister soon, but I wouldn't mind having an additional tour later, if you would like to show me around.

It is very helpful. I think a lot of people are glad it's around. Though I've heard of some people trying to damage it in the past too and I don't get why.

[She nodded slightly.]

That's wonderful. Meeting your sister. I'm glad you have someone you care about here. But I would still love to show you around after.

There are people who only seek destruction, I am afraid.

[She did manage to meet a few last time she was here.]
