ACTION
[It had been some time since Mai made her presence known over the network. Time for her to settle in, so to speak. Adjust to a more peaceful life, where she had a bed to be slept in nightly. Food readily available without having to scavenge. Friends and the closest thing she had to a 'family' nearby. More of whom continued to arrive the longer she was here.]
[Somehow, all of that was stranger to her than the idea of being 'trapped' in an alternate universe.]
I was wondering... [A pause, and she pressed her lips together in thought. Knowing exactly what she wanted to ask, but attempting the most diplomatic means of phrasing her question.] ...if there were any current prevailing theories or ongoing experiments with regards to the means of time travel and inter-dimensional transport that seems to be responsible for bringing so many individuals from so many different worlds and points in time here?
[A conversation that had begun with a select few, and was perhaps more interesting to her at this time than...almost anything else. For all her years as the head commander of Earth's resistance force, her scientific mind had never wavered.]

ACTION
[Mind lost in thought, the (apparently) young woman could be found walking the streets of Genessia later that morning, pausing just long enough to collect herself a copy of the local newspaper.]
[She'd been hearing some very interesting stories about a certain paperboy as of late, and as such, was hesitant to subscribe to the delivery service...but deemed the information located within to be important enough to still seek out each issue. Even if it meant taking a seat on a nearby bench and reading in public, rather in the privacy of the residence she currently shared with Bulma and the others.]
Let's see...weather...horoscopes...bounties?

Let's see...weather...horoscopes...bounties?

Do you know what I mean?
no subject
I do.
That was our motivation for traveling, actually. We could have stayed where we were, but we wanted to see our friends and family again. So we decided to leave, even if the circumstances would be...a bit complicated.
no subject
He has a reason, though.]
Good. It took my boyfriend and me more than a decade to figure it out and by them we had both died. This place gave us a second chance but one isn't always so lucky. It's better not to waste time.
I think you make the best choice.
no subject
[...yeah, that sounded like just about everyone Mai had ever known. Including the people in Genessia with her. Probably including herself, given the joy of alternate timelines and whathaveyou.]
We think so.
We still think so, even if we were sidetracked and brought here instead.
[Genessia was a fairly peaceful world, and certainly better off than the one she and Trunks left behind...but, in the end, it was still keeping them from their Happiness, and that was something she would not soon forget. No matter how relaxed and at peace she seemed on the outside.]

It's not a too bad place to be but I am biased in my opinion. I hope that one day you can find a real place to call home.-
Have you found something to keep you distracted in the meantime? A job?
no subject
[...but with regards to an actual job-job?]
No, not yet. [Full-time employment, beyond seeming a bit too permanent, simply hadn't been a priority ever since moving in with Bulma and the others.] I have been eyeing a few places, but for the most part, I've just been helping out Bulma when I can.
no subject
The godo thing about this place is that you can be pretty much anything you wanted to be. Or go back to school.
no subject
So I've heard.
Admittedly, I'm a little surprise that so little emphasis seems to be placed on certain prior skills or knowledge. They seem far from desperate for a labor force here.
no subject
People has different priorities in this world. Death isn't permanent, sickness or huge crisis aren't that common either.
no subject
How?
[How was Death not Permanent? How did people not regularly get sick? Were there some version of Dragon Balls in this world?]
no subject
As for Death not lasting here...it's been like that since I arrived. If you die, you can come back after a few days if you give something in return like an important memory or a skill.
[ He was sceptical too at first but he's lived here 2 years and he died once, so he knows it to be the truth. ]
no subject
[She assumed he wasn't talking about a typical medical doctor when he referenced 'healers']
Do people die here often? ...even if just for a short time?
no subject
Often? No, not really. There's crimes from time to time but those don't happen more often here than in the average world.
no subject
Then there's a chance...we may not have to worry about any of that at all.
