[Eliot has now been in Genessia for quite some time. In the months since he initially arrived, he's used his pocketwatch to switch personalities quite a few times. For his job at the archive, Eliot finds himself spinning between personas very rapidly.
What he doesn't realize is that every time he's switched personalities, Eliot has forgotten a sliver more about his life before Genessia. His 'human' personality has been changing a lot, to the point that he's almost an entirely new person from the secret vampire boy back in LA.

So pardon him as he says some stupid things:]

I've been thinking lately about something and wondered... How does one determine their horoscope for the newspaper, if they do not know when they were born? Can I use the day that I died? I apologize for asking. I'm quite the pitiful library if I don't have the answer, aren't I..?

[He's sitting at the archive, going through books and records curiously. Anyone who sees the books or their pages may notice he's written a name, over and over, in a desperate attempt to keep from forgetting someone. It clearly hasn't worked:]

And dear me, but this is going to sound so silly. Who exactly is this 'Ophelia' I've been reading about in my notes? Does she live in Genessia? The name sure looks nice. I must really like it. [Anyone who has spoken to Eliot has probably heard him gush about Ophelia before: She's the girl he is in love with... Or was, before he apparently forgot her.]

... Goodness, it just occurred to me! But where were we all before Genessia? Why am I here, again? Am I doing a good job..?

Hmm... It's hard for me to pin down a date like that for myself. I'm always forgetting things in the short-time. That's why I thought the day I died would work? I can't forget that.

[Though, speaking of forgetting. Eliot pauses for a long moment, then shakes his head.]

Were we in this 'Ruby City' together?

Go vith vhatever date you feel zhe most connection vith.

[Paused and then suddenly she's locking this as she flips to video and leans into study him slightly.]

No, ve veren't.

[Yes, there might be a hint of concern there.]

Eliot, vat is zhe last thing you remember before Genessia?

Hm?

[Eliot needs another moment to think. His memories feel like scraps and he needs a moment to string them together. After that short moment, he calmly concludes what has happened. Not happily, but calmly.]

I was killed and turned. Hm... I guess I used the pocketwatch too much...?

If you forgetting parts of your life before here iz a side effect, zhen yes. You're using zhe vatch too much.

[She should have never given him back that damned thing.]

Ah, well. The memories won't be permanently forgotten. The 'other me' will still remember everything.

[He's still being abnormally calm about this. The way he forgets things and constantly changes is normal for him. It's part of why Eliot thinks so poorly of himself: He knows he has erased his heart over and over, and his human persona is just temporary. In the long run, he doesn't matter.]

Am I doing a good job, though? I work at this archive, right? Have I been useful?

[Rip's just... silent. His calmness about this doesn't exactly sit well with her and might even make her a little uncomfortable. Admittedly, Rip's own memory wasn't that great about her younger years. But, even she wasn't that bad.]

...Und how long until zhe only zhing left is zhis other you.

[Quiet, curious.]

Haven't I been telling you all from the start? I'm a Living Library. There was really only the 'other me' to begin with.

[He perks up when she praises his work.]

And fantastic~! Then there's no problem here..! Oh. But I should hurry up and have pictures taken of you. I don't want to forget the people I care about.

[Said carelessly. The way he wrote Ophelia's name on just about everything is an indication of how serious he is about that: He didn't want to forget her. Part of Eliot has already made the connection and realized he must have liked this 'Ophelia' and forgotten her anyway.

But he's not going to address that can of worms.]

[Faint snort. Yes, she remembered and she's even had a conversation with Augustine about this. At the time, she just wanted him to be more like a vampire. Now? It was a little... disturbing to see.

Rip rolls her eyes slightly. ]

I'll look around for a camera. Zhough I doubt you'll forget me anytime zoon.

[Then she's grinning.]

In fact, I might just haf to come downstairs und spend a few nights at your apartment~.

What--- Wait! Wh-Whoa now! No one said that!

[Well, she's shaken him out of his calm! Eliot flusters and panics slightly at the thought.]

Do pictures still take that long to develop, that you might need to spend hours with us? I may have forgotten somethings, but I remember that photos can be taken almost instantly now!

[She grins and waves her hand slightly, just brushing off that notion.]

Doesn't matter zhat pictures are taken instantly now. I'm still vanting to visit since it's been avhile~.

Can't haf you thinking I vill never return after all.

Really? I would actually love to be led into a false sense of security! You should keep up this trend of respecting my space!

[That grin? Just turned into a slightly fang filled smile.]

All zhe more reason for me to visit. I vonder, shall I take over your room or Augustines zhis time.

That is a very odd question.

[The whole thing really fell under this, but she figured it was a vampire thing for the first part anyway since she assumed that vampires live for a long time. It would make sense.

But she finds herself frowning at the second part.]

You must have forgotten way too much.

Ah, Ms Winry! Apologies, I didn’t mean for it to be strange, really~!

Ehehe... and perhaps! But you needn’t worry. My other self won’t forget any of my library knowledge, no matter how stupid “I” may be.

[He scowls.]

And I’ve been sleeping lately, too... Oh, fine. I’ll move back into the living room...

[Enis doesn't have a lot of friends in the city but when she hears one of them on the comms she has the tendency to stop and listen. She doesn't always respond to Eliot, who is frequently asking the world questions, but there is something about what he says that worries her.]

You're losing your memories?

[She isn't sure how that works since Eliot is a container for knowledge, much the same way that she is.]

I just pick whichever horoscope sounds most likely to come true for me. Alternately, I take one of those personality quizzes that determine my zodiac type and then check. Except those quizzes never give the same answer, so it's admittedly a flawed system.

Never said you had to do that~. I'll just move into Augustine's room. I'm sure he von't mind.

It would appear I let a few slip through the cracks. [By 'a few' he means 'a lot.']

But please don't worry. The 'other me' won't have lost any memories, so I can still function as a Library.

If you just pick it randomly, isn't it pointless?

Though, I suppose not all newspapers write their Horoscopes based on any actual astrological divination...

I am worried Eliot. That's what friends do.

[She exhales a heavy breath.]

I'll speak to the other you about this too but you should make sure you write down the things that you forget. Not specifically but take a red pen in a different color and remark on the page that you don't remember a persons name or other things written down. [In case he forgets more.]

Ah... Well, if it would make you feel better? I can put forth such an effort, then.

However, it really isn't... [Well, it is a big deal. Eliot just doesn't want to make it a big deal. He doesn't want to panic.]

... It isn't something that can be helped. I'm sorry if it's worrisome.

[Enis exhales a slow breath.]

Don't be sorry Eliot. We just need to figure out what you're forgetting and why. You're able to hold information and if your other half still remembers it then it isn't lost. It's something we might be able to heal.

[She likes chemistry more than biology but Enis will pull out what stops she can to help.]
