So, my mother is having a party on June 23rd and 24th. It's going to be on the Nova City Islands, and there will be games and prizes. I wanted to invite you to join us as my guest? If you want to come please meet us at the Nova City Docks at 11am on June 23rd.

Trunks has gotten the lay of Nova City pretty well, and a decent start on getting to know and explore Attleton, so time to add Genessia city to his list. He'll be out and about exploring, with particular visits to the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation's lab--mostly to find if they have a head-office, a few shops and parks, and making note of certain locations.

Trunks hadn't wanted to disrupt Rose's yoga schedule, so he didn't meet her every day to work with her on meditation. But--aside from her recent hermiting because of things--they did try to meet regularly. One such morning finds them in the Garden Park, slightly off (but not too far) off the path by the trees.

[OOC: I figure this is probably like...3rd or 4th lesson for Rose, if that works?]

I've already been cooking for some time. But we usually just have small dinners.

[Spaghetti and meatballs is probably the most complicated thing she can cook.]

[Okay, making sure he's reading the section and book-shelf labels correctly, they're still heading in the right direction at least.]

That's also not a bad thing. Are you doing it all from scratch?

[He's not entirely sure what 'from scratch' entails; but Trunks knows the difference between robotic assistance and by hand at least. Gohan also used to rave about Chichi and her cooking from scratch.]

Yes, I am. Well, most of it.

[She isn't sure if she's still cooking for scratch if the fish was already prepared when she buys them.]

[It's close enough, in his thinking then.]

Well, I'm...okay--I'd have to check, but if the apartments we live in are like back home, they probably have all sorts of tech to help with cooking. Including preparation, which should make it simpler. If you want, I can try and help you learn to use those?

Beyond that I...can't...and don't really cook.

[There's that sheepishness again. He can do 'enough to keep someone alive' but that's about it. And you have to be desperate to even appreciate that much of his efforts so far.]

I wouldn't want to trouble you anymore than I already am.

[She can probably get that sort of education from her home economics class. But she was curious about the last thing he said.]

Are you interested? I didn't know boys would be interested in cooking.

[Is it obvious yet that she isn't close with many guys?]

[Oh good, there's the 'Worlds--Earth' Section; they were getting closer.]

Why not? It's a good skill to have to survive, which is part of why I know what little I know, and am bad at it otherwise. My talents lie elsewhere.

Talents, like carrying princesses?

[Ha! A joke. She made one.]

Do you have anyone in your family here that can teach you?

[Oh he catches that, and gives her a playful wink.]

You're actually the first princess I've carried. This is just one of the more commonly known ways to carry people. Also pretty secure, depending on what your doing and provided you can actually do it.

[There were other ways to carry people too, when one wasn't actually able to do the 'princess carry' because of strength.]

Maybe, although my father doesn't cook. Mom might, but she also seems more used to using robotic help and tools than anything else.

[It helps that Anastasia is lighter than other girls her age.]

I see. I would help you learn how to cook, but I'm still learning myself. I have heard of something called... "cooking shows?"

[Wouldn't matter if she was heavier, honestly. Lucky half-saiyan advantage and all.]

I'm aware of what those are. Also books. And a new friend of mine, here, cooks. I might ask him for lessons, once I get myself settled more, and if he's not busy.

[Okay, they're starting to get to the J-subsection of stacks. That's good right?]

That's good then.

How much further do we have to go? Are we close to the creative writing section?

Not too much further, and we're heading for the "Japanese" section. From there it should be organized by type of literature.

[Nope, not much further at all as they round a set of shelves and find---far more shelves. All with "Worlds-Earth-Japanese" labeling them at the top, and individual types labeling each bookshelf for sections within.]

Oh, okay. My ride is going to be here soon, so we need to hurry.

[Must find books! Must make Satsuki proud!]

[True, and Trunks moves to put her down. Studying the shelves, focused.]

Good news about Libraries--you can take the books out and borrow them.

[A small side glance at her.]

Do you have a preference for type of poetry? or just general poetry?

[Once she was back on the ground, she took a moment to straighten out her uniform.]

Something simple. I think Haiku is a good start.

[He's already moving slightly, hand up and tracing the categories on the shelves--as much as he can anyways. There are some rolling ladders scattered and attached to the shelves too thankfully, as these are tall.]

How many books do you want?

[Pausing at the start of the Literature section, with its subtypes...]

Just one should be enough.

[Two or three and she probably won't be able do carry it.]

[One hmm? Well, he can try...]

Alright, wait there for a moment okay?

[Because he'll be faster at finding the specific section she needs, given he can also fly and doesn't need the ladder. Reading fast, scanning the middle of the shelves and subtypes, before finding poetry--up near the top of the shelf.

So, floating up enough, and then quick-scanning of the spines, before he's pulling down a book. Then another, then 2 more. He's not sure what she might be looking for, but one of these should work if she's trying to keep it simple. There's an Intro to Haiku, Haiku:Seasons of Japan, 5-7-5--the Art of Haiku, and Famous Haiku of Tokugawa Japan.

Coming back to Anastasia with his finds, and presenting them for her to choose.]

It's actually a surprisingly big section, up near the top--but it's ALL poetry, not sub-typed out. If you want to look, I'll show you, but I thought one of these might work. Or two, if you want me to carry it for you.

[Well, she's glad she didn't have to do any climbing. If its not because of her skirt, it's her Acrophobia.]

Just one will do. I wouldn't be able do finish both books in under two weeks, even if I did read them at school.

[He's guessing she's done being carried for now though? He's still willing to though.]

Maybe once you're on your way home, I'll try and find some of those cook books in the 'how to' sections.

[She doesn't mind either way. But at least they're going down stairs instead of up. She'll be fine.]

That's a fine idea then. Maybe you'll one day start a family restaurant?

I think I'd get bored doing that, but knowing how to make something that actually is edible would be nice.

It was neat. Satsuki was there welcoming the students to a new semester. I got to meet my teachers. Tour the school. It was just, really, getting to know the routine and should be starting tomorrow.
