the robolution is now ~ [video]
[ Is there some scuffle? The camera sends jarred pictures from the cavern at the bay, anyway, and then a clang of metal hitting metal. A moment later, a robotic foot comes into view. Looks like someone has just kicked the pod they woke up in.
A moment later, a robot comes into focus. A grumbling robot, who is plucking the silk and soft padding from her frame on which she had been pillowed when she woke up - and which had promptly gotten stuck in all these exposed, moving parts that make her frame. ]
If this is how you repair droids, I want a chat with your engineers!
[ Her head dome swivels and tilts forward, focusing on the small lens of the camera. ]
Are you here, Lando? This is exactly the kind of trouble you would get us into.

You can do anything, be anything. Droids like us are allowed in all cities although some problems still exist, especially in Nov City.
Sometimes people form our home world ends here as well.

[ She may have always spoken of freedom but... There were limits to her freedom. She had known that. So many things impossible for her. It's hard to think it isn't so here. ]
Except leave. You can do whatever you want here but you can't leave.

[ She doesn't have to go into detail, Kay understand how bad life it can be for droids like them. ]
Except that. There's always a downside to things.

Maybe I'll become a ballerina.
[ She is joking. Mostly. ]
no subject
That's something I'd like to see. You do have the frame for it. And the legs.
no subject
This gorgeous frame is invaluable.
[ And you're preening, L3. ]
no subject
And you waste your talents in the millennium falcon? Why?
no subject
[ She tilts her dome. ]
I think you're unique, too. It's not how we start out that matters, it's what we make of ourselves. There are no two droids that are the same in the galaxy.
no subject
[Capes are for Imperialllls :C And mean people.
Kay's voice is clealry happy after her last reply, though.]
Thank you. And yes, I think you are right. Now, if only others here saw it that way...
no subject
Why? Are people giving you trouble? Because I can punch them for you.
no subject
I appreciate it but no, no one is bothering me now And I could probably punch them myself if that were the case. People talks behind my back, though, or don't think droids are really alive.
[ Like Emerald, for example. ]
no subject
L3 nods solemnly. ]
They need punching then. Just call me when you need backup, I can hold them down while you punch if you like.
no subject
Will do. I could should you around once you are more settled. Say, any strong feelings against grenades?
no subject
no subject
[ Or lack of aim, in Kay's case. ]
I also have a rocket launcher. Is the best thing, do you want to try it?
no subject
[ She may be pouting a little now. Why did you buy so much shimmersilk and never buy her a platinum rocket launcher, Lando? How cruel and unusual! ]
You have a boyfriend?
no subject
[Because Lando is inconsiderate.]
Yes. His name is Cassian Andor, he's the current Guardian of Attleton city.
no subject
A nice man told me I should try to get a job as Guardian. That you get paid for punching people. Or choking. It was possibly choking.
no subject
A nice man...well he's a bit misinformed. You don't get paid for that.
[ He's not saying you CAN'T punch people though. ]
no subject
[ Sure, break her heart. She'd been looking forward to her new career of getting paid for punching jerks! ]
Because I would like getting paid for that.
no subject
[ But now that he thinks of it... ]
I have another job, as a bouncer in the Velvet Lust bar. You could ask with Tanussen, the owner, and see if he is hiring. You get to kick out the people who misbehaves.
no subject
[ Between her hating droid fights and slavery and Lando angering the card sharks they're really more used to being kicked out than leaving on their own terms. But. Hey. It's all part of their life. ]
no subject
[ Yeah, Kay would understand. More often than not, Cassian and him left all places running for their lives. ]
no subject
Back home, I wasn't much of a battle model but maybe here being a droid is enough.
[ Maybe there's less competition, with no assassin droids and the likes around. ]
no subject
it really when it comes to the average human. [ They're so fragile and breakable... ] You said you were a navigator, right? I guess you could always find a job as a driver but there are no spaceships here because the barriers limit the sky.
