On today's episode of "Misery & Self-Loathing"... [Video]

[It comes as no surprise that this dhampir been avoiding the known world as of late for reasons unknown. However, Augustine returns looking as immaculate as ever in a pristine red baroque themed suit featuring white ruffles and lace. He's dressed to the nines as usual but he certainly isn't going anywhere fancy. If anything, he's lingering close to home for now at the local cafe. That explains why he's nursing a cup of coffee looking quite unimpressed.]

What does a man have to do to get a decent cup of coffee? [The dhampir grumbles as he takes a small sip.] Coffee that isn't burnt, that is.

I cannot say I'm particularly fan of this brew but I suppose it will do.

[An afterthought.]

I hear Fayren has the best coffee, only second to Everglade. However, the coffee in the Everglade isn't coffee.

[More like coagulated human blood but whatever! It tastes good.]

Do I dare ask anything regarding the next elections? I hear a certain "guardian" might be stepping down.

I’m afraid I have little experience brewing coffee.

[Son is being good and doing his job. Which is just about all Eliot does anymore. Work and his make-up.]

Does it really taste good? I’ve heard it described as Stockholm syndrome.

[Guess who should be asleep and is having another one of her sleepless days, though for good reason this time. She's also very happy to see him out and about.]

...I like zhe coffee in zhe Everglade.

[Because it's exactly what she needs. Rip pouts a little before relaxing and with the camera moving out a little, Augustine can see Rip's still very much in her pajamas, lounging on her couch in a tanktop and pair of sleeping shorts as she sets her device on the coffee table with a slight yawn and seems to just curl up with a pillow.]

[Mentioning cosmestics, Eliot looks flawless today! Augustine is quite proud.]

I wouldn't be surprised if I do have Stockholm syndrome at this point.

[He grimaces as he takes another sip.]

[Ted wouldn't blame him: there's a lot to loath.]

Unfortunately, not David. It should be David but alas.

[He greets with a pleasant smile reserved only for his dear huntress.]

You look as lovely as ever, Rip. Although, a bit tired. Are you resting well?

[Nothing has changed between them. Augustine is still quite concerned about her regardless of everything. Hell, he still freaking loves her.]

[She smiles a little and maybe relaxes a bit more with his pleasant greeting. Has she been sleeping well? Hardly. If anything, it's a relief to know that he's concerned and that nothing's changed between them.

Rip still very much adores both her men, even with Augustine being so busy lately. What was the saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Well, it's definitely working in his favor with her. ]

I hafn't seen a proper sunrise in ages.

[Then again, it would be a little more dangerous for her than for him. And yes, she's avoiding the subject of whether or not she's been sleeping well. Especially this morning.]

Zhen I'll be vaiting. It's been avhile zo I may just haf to visit.

[Including Ted himself. Loathing the blond is a normal passtime.]

[Eh, might as well make herself known. Even if she's more eyeing the details of that suit before addressing him properly.]

The elections are coming up soon and, from what I've heard, there's only two going for Everglade. Neither of which is Grell, so take that as you will~

Huh. Was the coffee on-site? Getting abroad, what with the travel and line-waiting can't be much faster than the self-made.

[If absence really makes the heart grow fonder, then Rip might be in trouble later. The good kind of trouble no less. Augustine is eager to hold her again. He honestly misses her embrace.]

[He smirks a little at the idea of her "visiting" him later. The dhampir is looking forward to that.]

You should visit. You haven't graced my presence in such a long time.

[Forgo your criticism, lich! This suit is clearly designer.]

Is that so? Well, I wonder who the candidates will be.

[He mutters in a deadpan tone as he takes a sip of his coffee.]

Do not tell me that my alleged "grandfather" plans take to the polls.

[Hey, she's not judging anything! It's not her style, but it's at least nice.]

No, no. Actually I'm one of them, go figure. I can't say I'm that familiar with the other, but who knows how this will play out. [She briefly shrugs, seeming a lot tamer than she normally is at the very least.]

There's quite a lot of work to be done in this city still and I'm not keen on it continuing in the same status quo people allowed to burn things down without consequence pattern.

Probably not but I rather not get my cuffs dirty.

[He gives the boy a judging glance.]

You look well, Ted. A little chubbier than I remember but well.

[Augustine carefully lowers his mug and settles it down upon the matching white saucer. A moment passes before he responds but when he does, the dhampir chooses his words carefully.]

Interesting. I never thought of you as the political type.

[He hides his slight disapproval with impassiveness.]

While I certainly an advocate for changing the status quo, I feel this will come at a grievous price.

[It certainly wouldn't surprise her, his disapproval, considering the last few times they've spoken didn't tend to be on the best of terms.]

There's a lot of things you don't know about me, darling, though I am the type that tends to not speak much about or of myself unless there's a reason to do so. [A brief pause, hm.] Which seems apt enough for most of the political climate here and elsewhere, in my experience.

Oh come on now, it's not as if I'm going to incite a coup or go after someone's head.

[That's the kind of trouble Rip likes being in. The kind that makes her forget the reason she's so afraid to sleep some nights or the terror she felt the night before hearing the voice of someone she'd rather forget...

And she did sincerely miss him. As much as she loves her shark, Rip is equally invested in her robin as well.]

[He can probably guess what she means easily enough considering how they were in the same room together...]

[That's putting it mildly at best.]

Likewise. The same could be said in regards to myself.

[Besides that time between Eliot, Rip and himself, Augustine remains and enigma still. The dhampir keeps to himself for the most part, only causing a ruckus every once and awhile. Or rather he gets dragged into nonsense unwillingly by others but nevertheless, Augustine keeps to himself.]

While you may not incite a coup, you certainly shown great distaste for my kind.

[That is something she cannot deny.]

I may not reside in Everglade but there's many vampires who do.

[A small smile plays on her lips, how lovely.]

That's in the past, my dear. I was operating on the knowledge of the vampires I was familiar with back home, but after watching the ones here and dealing with a few of the native ones? I can see there was an error in my ways. I have no ill will towards those here anymore.

Oh, I'm aware of such "activities", dear.

[He's grinning from ear to ear now.]

Waiting for me? [Augustine arches his brow some.] Eliot is home but my son might not let you inside.

He's quite rebellious as of late.

[Although, he has no idea if she's telling the bloody truth or not. He simply doesn't know what to think about Lydia.]

Oh, no, it's been like that for quite a while. Just hadn't had any reason to talk about it until now. That's all~

[She never is, honestly. Though it's more there's certain vampires she's interested in dealing with and others she'd rather classify under selfish twits.]

Mmm. I forget the name, but I want to say it was one of the ones that were made into temporary Guardian when Grell stepped down from the position. You know, the usual droll boring nonsense of keeping to what they had been doing before, blahblahblah.
