[Winry had a good few books piled in front of her. She didn't have a lot of work to do currently in terms of work. At best it was just maintenance which doesn't take all that long unless there are adjustments that are needed.

So when Winry doesn't need to work she always finds herself reading. Studying various creatures that exist in this world, how their biology is and how certain treatments and such would work. She was looking at it from a medical standpoint.

Closing another book he placed it to the side for the moment before her fingers traced the outline of another book while her right hand was jotting down notes. She was making sure to keep as many notes as she could for just in case.]

Video;
[Winry soon switched the feed on, only merely glancing at the device she was holding in her left hand. She had something on her mind and she figured she might as well say something.]

So I am just checking something and... I know that universities and such do exist, but... Does anyone know if a learning centre exists where you work as you learn instead of just sitting around while a teacher tells you stuff?

[She tapped her pen against her notebook.]

It was something I'm slowly starting to consider. Mostly because I've met so many people who are in the medical field, but not anyone who could do things like I can. So... I guess I am starting to feel confident in wanting to teach others and figured that having people who want to learn work as they learn would be a much better way of doing it.

[She paused, eyes looking over at a notebook.]

Would also be a good way for students to earn money as they learn as well as getting experience. But... it might seem like a silly, idea right? [She sighed closing her book before leaning back as the device is soon off.]

I haven't heard of anything like that, at least not on such a professional level. The Red House Foundation works more on teaching basic skills for entry-level jobs but you might want to speak to Miss Grell anyway.

Yes, that's what I figured. You would probably want to work with trained nurses and doctors, giving extra qualification for trained professionals, which means... Do you think there's any chance of this happening in-house at your hospital? Or Heals on Wheels. They might be good to speak to. But wherever you go, it looks to me like something you'd have to start from scratch.

[ He gives a little shrug. He may be trying here, but in truth all he can do is cheerlead. ]

Or maybe not. The medical field really isn't mine. But I'm sure I speak for our mayor when I say that if this happens, Attleton would be happy to support you in any way we can.

[ He gives her a nod and a small almost-smile. ]

You're welcome. Feel free to contact me or Mayor Palmer if there's anything you think we can help with.

I know Attleton would benefit from doctors with your advanced training, and I'm not just talking about medics for the Guardian's Office but also our hospital.

[ His lips twitch a little. ]

It does go largely unnoticed by pendant bearers, between Fayren's magical healing and Nova and Genessia's high-tech...

That's true. If there's an opportunity to bring it up to the mayor, I will.

Speaking of medical training, we are offering free first aid and self-defense courses for the citizens of Attleton. If you're ever interested in helping out with these, or think any of your colleagues would be interested, just send them our way.

If you've started training already our beginner's courses may be too easy for you but you're welcome to enroll anyway. I believe learning self-defense is one of the best things you can do for yourself, whether here in Genessia or elsewhere.

You're very welcome to sign up then... provided my successor keeps this project going, but I hope so. As peaceful as Attleton is for the most part, I feel that people benefit from these classes. And while they are for locals, nobody is going to exclude people from out of town from attending. Or you could find a private instructor.

Alright, sounds like a plan. I wish you good luck either way.

So like...an apprenticeship or uhh...[What was that term he heard nursing students constantly use at the hospital?] clinicals?

Sounds cool! Having more people specializing it would be helpful, considering this place. You should talk to the hospital, or if you want it to become a partner funded program...maybe try Schnee Co. or something like that.

Apprentice-ship. You want an apprentice-ship.

And that's still a thing even in the year 2 billion, but you have to find your own mentor or master, since parents selling their kids into mini-slavery is usually pretty frowned upon, yeah?

[Face scrunch. She can imagine it, but...] That'd be a bit difficult unless you had something of really high demand, yeah? Like, the reason it's usually so spread out is because masters of craft aren't usually willing to be in the same place, and each has a different work need?

It's obviously different here, there's a lot of masters of different things, but the reason universities work the way they do is because you don't have to be hands on to learn those things.

[Hands up!] Don't get me wrong, I only learn by doin', really. And watching.

I know there's a few... [FACE SCRUNCH.] Learning centers? But that's usually not so specialized. You could start there and see if anyone else gets into it though, yeah?

You could still be a hands-on kind of shop & medical teacher, yeah? I don't know a lot about med school, but I know most of it is actually out of the classroom, very hands-on.

Otherwise, I dunno... I'm not sure how many other people are looking for apprentices besides you, yeah?
