[How many full-fledged knights come for a stay? Lightning is armored, armed and looking every inch a servant of her goddess, Etro. This woman doesn't do weak and she is pausing only to address any who might be watching. Then, when her message is concluded, she will continue on her way. Time doesn't fix itself, you know, and she has a little sister to guide...to find...

Her job is never done - or so it feels.]

Was this your desire, great Etro? [Her exhaled breath lifts her pink fringe.] I am Lightning Farron, a servant of the Goddess Etro. If it was by her will that I was brought to this location, so be it, but I sense that someone has interfered. I must return to Valhalla.

[She glances at her audience sharply.]

The unseen will reveal itself in time.

Why do you look so sad? [She softens and nods slowly.] It comes in many forms and it always hungers for more of itself. A world can only take so much.

I'm...I'm just worried about my own world. The Shade is corrupting everything, and I have to stop it, but I'm just so unprepared! And Erebus...I don't know if he's controlling the Shade, or if the Shade is controlling him...

[Though she's leaning more towards the latter.]

Everything is a mess back home...

[She stops, trying to will herself not to panic.]

I know how you feel. [Lightning wonders if they are in a similar position, facing an opponent that seems to grow larger and more creative daily. Hourly.] What can you do to defend yourself? We can work on your strength...

And mine too.

[That is definitely one of Liora's fears. And she definitely recognizes that they are in a similar position regarding acting by the will of a deity.]

...I can use magic. Light magic, specifically, but I'm still working to control it better. I can heal, too.

What about you?

[Practicing is better than doing nothing. Maybe it will soothe their nerves too.]

I can use magic too; to heal and to use elemental attacks. I'm also good with my gunblade. [She brings said weapon into view, showing how it can be held and wielded.] We're not a bad match.

Ooh...

[Liora looks in awe at the gunblade.]

I knew I felt something when you mentioned serving a goddess. And having an important mission back home...

[But how to practice...?]

Well...Satou told me about a "Holodeck," a room that contains your power and lets you practice in any kind of environment. I haven't been there yet, so I don't know how it works...

Maybe we were meant to meet. [She gives a faint smile.] I would not mind visiting this Holodeck with you. Etro gifted me with extraordinary power - beyond what I had before as a l'Cie - and I want my new abilities to stay sharp.

Perhaps...

When do you think we should meet? Do you know anything about...technology? The technology here is far more advanced than what I'm used to.

[Like, she's barely touched technology at all.]

In my world, the Lightning flight specializes in technology, but it's nothing compared to what I've seen here...

Nothing I've seen surprises me. [Except for the place where she arrived. That felt like a combination of magic and technology, though.] Holograms are used in my world. A Holodeck shouldn't be too different.

[She smiles a bit, thinking of herself as a dragon.]

I would get along well with them.

[Perhaps Lightning would enjoy being a dragon more than Liora enjoyed being human. It was hard not being able to fly.]

All right. I know there's a Holodeck in both Genessia City and Nova City. I don't think they're different from each other. Should we...meet now?

[She almost seems like she can fly during battle, but that's just an illusion. The experience would be an eye-opening wonder for her.]

If you're free? I don't really have anything else to occupy my day. [Other than settling in.] Can you meet me?

I don't have anything else going on either.

[She doesn't need money, so she doesn't occupy her days working for it.]

Are you still at the Bay? Or the gateway to Genessia City?

I'm at the gateway. [She pauses there, brushing pink strands behind her ear.] I'll wait for you.

All right, I'll be there soon.

[She manages a small smile before ending the feed. And then the little dragon will fly to the gateway and land near Lightning.]

Here I am.

[Lightning is returning that smile the moment she sees Liora in person. An ambitious yet friendly dragon with her heart in the right place is just the sort of being that would appeal to her.]

I noticed. [She nods towards Genessia.] You know the city's layout; I will need that information.

Well, the devices have maps on them...

[Liora brings out her device to locate the map and then shows it to Lightning.]

It should be on yours as well.

Maps are a poor replacement for walking the roads myself.

[But maps are helpful. She shows her gratitude with a smile, memorizing where they are located on the devices.]

Thank you, Liora. Now where is this...Holodeck?

I suppose...

[She looks into her device map again, locating the Holodeck.]

Let's see...it's...this way.

[Once she pinpoints the location, she puts her device away and begins walking on all fours in the direction of the Holodeck building.]

[Lightning forgets, for a few moments, the dire nature of her situation. Liora is adorable and there is something about the small dragon that inspires courage in her.]

Would you mind telling me more about your world? Are there humans?

My world?

[Liora tends to talk about herself and her world anyway, so it's almost refreshing for Lightning to ask about it.]

There aren't any humans. Just dragons and many other beasts. The world was shaped by the eleven deities, who gave birth to dragonkind. We try to shape our regions according to the deities' vision. But the Beastclans make it difficult sometimes...

[The idea of more worlds is interesting. The old Lightning would have purposefully - and stubbornly - pretended she wasn't intrigued. But, the truth is, how can she not be?

She matches her steps with Liora's, looking around to keep guard.]

Eleven deities, so...eleven regions? Were the Beastclans created by your deities too?

Well...that, we don't know. We know that the Beastclans were there first, and were driven into hiding when dragonkind was born. And then they emerged and declared war. We've been at war ever since.

There are some beasts that aren't aligned with any of the elements, which we call neutral. We don't know where they came from...

It sounds like they are jealous. [Wars have been fought for sillier reasons. She grits her teeth, crossing her arms over her chest.] Your kind... Are you peaceful? Or are you invaders to a world that was once claimed by the beasts?

I...I think we're peaceful...for the most part. I don't really know...other clans may be different. I haven't really met many other dragons outside of my clan...

[She keeps walking, lowering her head shamefully.]

The Beastclans...they believe we invaded them...and they could be right. But we were only the deities' bidding. So I don't know if we're right or wrong...

It wasn't your choice to invade and so I do not think you should blame yourself. [Lightning softens her tone, feeling guilty perhaps.] The beasts should challenge the gods; not you. If they are too weak, then, that is their fault; not yours.
