How do you all survive on such low wages?
[It was the first thing to come out of the young man's mouth, while he didn't mean it in a bad way, it came across as such more than likely. Currently, he was still in the commons but had only just gotten his job and apartment situation sorted. So he was leaning back on his bed with the device in his hands.]
I've never had to figure out things with money before, so this is a whole new experience for me. But I guess I will put it down for an interesting experience. [An annoying one, but interesting never the less.]
I should also ask for general commoner knowledge of various things because admittedly. A lot of this will be new to me. Kind of like a fish out of water.
[And that was it as he switched the feed off.]
Action; Nova City; Fama Talent Agency
[So this was one of the places he was going to be working at. This was where he would be getting an agent who will help him get work and such. Though as Kaoru looked at a piece of paper, he was admittedly a tiny bit confused. he recalled only really signing up to be a model because that was something, so when he had read the letter and saw the word idol and words training and a name. He was beyond baffled.
So he had to come here to meet the person who would be training him in that area. He just didn't know who he would be looking out for.]
Action; Genessia; Bumblebee Boutique
[It was his first day at work as a personal shopper and honestly, he was a little excited about it. He got to decide what was a good idea for the person and what wasn't and admitted, he liked to have that power of helping them look their best.
So whenever he heard someone he turned his head with a smile.]
Welcome~

[This kid... the total opposite of the Doctor.]
My Mum has super rich tastes, but since my Dad died when I was a baby, she learned to do everything on basically nothing.
And I racked up so much debt as a teenager with my first boyfriend I was working some really terrible jobs.
If you want, I'll try to help. [Holds a hand up.] Free, no strings attached, my guess is that it'll be hard enough just to switch out of the lifestyle you're used to.
My -- [What the hell to call Pete's previous Jackie? Step-Mom? Alternative Universe mother? WOULD ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE DOCTOR AND A SELECT FEW UNDERSTAND THAT?]
[Very slowly:] Mum in another universe where she didn't have kids, because she didn't want risk her figure... [Aw, it's funny, it doesn't sting to mention that she named a yorkie Rose instead, but the reasons behind that petty desire, do kind of bug Rose. It was Jackie's choice, of course, but she was glad Pete always wanted kids, enough to almost instantly have Tony with her Mum, and treat Rose like his own.] had a very lavish extravagant lifestyle. She was good at motivating my Dad, keepin' him on track and pushin' him to actually make money, not just inventin', but I don't think she could have done what my own Mum did, yeah?
[She may or may be calling the previous, now expired Jacqueline Tyler shallow in her head. No, she wouldn't, because it's terrible to think ill of the dead. But that Jackie was definitely a bit much on the frivolities.]
You may have to cut down to bare minimum expenses. Pure necessities. And cheaper... everything.
[ALSO YOU ARE A BOY. She did not expect that. She was thinking it would be another princess like Ana.]

[Because he knew most if not all of his money was going to be going to that apartment because he didn't like the look of the others.]

But you can still decorate places that are cheap on your own to add your own flair and style. Just gotta do it smart. [Taps a temple with her finger. But if Kaoru notes the GIANT hoop earrings, the somehow smartphone that still looks like a 2006 pink flip phone, and the general "CHAV" screaming in bright red letters clothes; he might question whether she's really someone to trust on fashion.]
Like instead of fresh flowers daily, get potted ones. Sentimental things instead'a expensive. You know Art Deco, right? That was all about symmetry and color when everything was grim on resources.
Same for furniture. Dependin' where you're at, it might be easier to check for furniture that was trashed or broken and just fix it up. Recycling saves the planet, yanno?
video
[Esepcially when he seems to take up after her for the most part.]
Okay, work to what one can and to one's style...I am sure there is a way to work with that. [He wasn't sure he could actually fix furniture though. He couldn't do menial jobs because he's never done them, he wasn't sure he could trust himself to do that.]
I...can probably do some of that, but things like fixing are out of my skill set right now.
Re: video
Anyway, you don't have to actually repair anything broken, just get creative, use it all as a blank slate, yeah? Like if there's a really ugly couch, make a covering that works for you, or turn it into Frankenstein's sofa, basically. Or use crates and recycling stuff that's free or cheap.
If you want, I can also help you go apartment shopping, yeah? It's been awhile, and I'll have to tell my roommate it's not for me, so he doesn't get scared, but I actually know what it's like.
The other thing to consider is a roommate. They can really cramp your style, and it's extra torture if they run out on you, but a good one really helps take care of expenses, yeah?
video
[He thinks he gets it and doing something like that was probably in his skill set for the most part.]
I think someone mentioned roomates before, so I am considering that as my top option.
video
It's one of the smartest ways, yeah. The main reason my rent is so cheap. [Free even.]
Re: video
So you don't get it from specialized stores, right? Just checking so I know where to actually look.
video
And if that's still too expensive, wait. And either go without, ugly, or just decorate with free stuff, yeah?
video
[That's exciting for whatever reason.]
So long as I don't need to rummage in bins, anything is good at this point, I need to accept that much at least.
video
I forget what we have for department stores here. I used to work in one though! Hendrick's. 'Til the Doctor blew it up.
video
[He paused for a moment.]
I'll take a look around and see what happened, but wait... Someone blew up where you worked?
video
It was taken over by living plastic, and they killed the electrician Wilson, and were gonna axe me next, but the Doctor took me by the hand and saved me. Then he blew it up so the mannequins couldn't take over London. Although they still kidnapped and duplicated my boyfriend at the time, Mickey.
[Not as normal as she seems...]
Don't worry, there's three of the Doctor here, so if anything like that were to happen again, he'd just stop it before it got there. Although he did blow up a void here. Still not sure how.
video
Okay... Admittedly, I am very confused right now, but guess... you had a lot that happened in your world.
Re: video

But you can avoid it most of the time if you want. Sometimes. This place is a lot less exciting for us, him me, his friends, but even just colliding time itself that much is a bit extreme, yeah?
The worst of it is why we have the Guardians for each city though. To handle dangers, natural disasters, that sort of thing.
video
Though Guardians, huh? They're like the armed forces back home but in much lesser numbers... and can deal with the more supernatural too.
video
Yup. None of the universes I'd been to had magic, until here. But Mavis is a guild master of magic, and Fayren has dragons and... I forget what else. Everglade has werewolves, vampires, and ghosts, and I forget what all. And Nova is futuristic, well from my time. It's more current for people in the future, obviously. But like 2500s, minimum. 3000s-ish. It's got robots and androids and super skyscrapes thousands of floors high and flying vehicles.
Attleton has a mafia, I think? OR it might just be a rumor. I've been there loads of times and never encountered anything suspicious, and my best friend lives there, but 'onestly even if they tried to strong-arm 'im, it'd be a very pointless effort, he'd probably act like it was all a movie and play the role of star and audience at the same time.
[Waves a hand.] You don't always know what you can handle until you face it. But usually if you want to ostrich your head in the sand, you can ignore the worst of it.
Even if I tend to be a bit more... looking for it, I guess.
video
But otherwise I am a type of person who plays it safe.

That way kids and parents could go through at the same time, and kids could be heroes to their parents and see if was okay to take charge sometimes and face fears head on.
There's a slider now. And it's optional anyway. And skip the 18+ dungeon if you're squeamish.
Though really, I think it's just not meant for vampires. Them donating fear when they have to feed on it, is like a vampire donating blood. Very backwards.
