[Video ] An important announcement
[Cassian and Kay's house is often lively and, while Kay is trying to keep what is happening behind him mostly out of frame, Cassian and some pokemon can be spotted.]
Does anybody know a good blacksmith that can weld my wedding ring into place? [Kay raises his left hand and sure enough, there's a white gold ring around his finger.] It keeps falling off because my frame's too smooth and I don't want to lose it by accident.
[Any attempts at seriousness are ruined when there's a yelp, a shout of] Galantea! Get back here right now! [and then there's a Sylveon wearing a tiny tuxedo throwing herself at Kay smugly crowing Sylveon! Sylveon! Cassian appears a moment later, plucking her from Kay’s shoulder. If you look closely, you can see a matching wedding ring on Cassian’s hand, worn along with the gunmetal-grey ring made of Kay’s frame he’s been wearing since Christmas.]
That’s it, you’ve been wearing this tux since the wedding. Enough now. [For his troubles, he gets his cheek licked– slowly and slobbery and with great relish. He finally notices the phone in Kay’s hand.] If you’re going to announce it, you might as well tell them we’ll be unavailable for our honeymoon.

[Swoon!]
[BRB Having a Satou moment.]
Re: [Video]
Why are you people all so rude, getting emotional when he doesn't know how to handle emotions! ]
Rose? [ In his defense, he sounds only slightly terrified. ]
Re: [Video]
[Which is the only thing in view. She's just gonna lay on the floor for a bit. Don't worry about it.]
Re: [Video]
Somehow, spy school didn't prepare him for this! ]
If... you're sure.
Re: [Video]
[Pulls herself up so her eyes and hands are peeking over the desk like Kilroy, a reference Cassian sadly would not get.]
So where are you going on your honeymoon? Or is it secret?
Re: [Video]
Secret... in a way, we don't know yet. We are considering some subarchways or exploring the towns but we haven't chosen yet.
[ They are also considering to squat in a nice mansion and poke around where they aren't supposed to poke. But can't tell people about that. ]
Re: [Video]
We don't have a gateway to Venice, Italy, that wouldn't even MATTER the century, it's always romantic, and the one for London is rubbish. Don't bother. It's just to the Powell Estates where I grew up. London is so unromantic. It's too bad getting one set up to places we've only visited is so hard. Unstable, I expect. Otherwise I'd say Widow Wept and the Rose Nebula are the best.
Re: [Video]
We hadn't really considered earth cities all that deeply. They're so small. [ When you're used to urban centres being city planets, that is. ] But that sounds nice... even if I have no idea what these places? Buildings? These attractions you listed, what they are. [ But hey. Good wine and good food and it's romantic, with a chance of getting indoor plumbing if you swing it right. All he needs to know. ]
Re: [Video]
[A small laugh.] Yeah, when you're used to a whole planet being one way, Earth is super confusing, innit? There's a world that's COMPLETELY an amusement park!! I really wanted to go, but I got stuck in Pete's Universe before I had a chance. Maybe if my own TARDIS ever grows up. Well, I said mine, but it's Meta's.
The Louvre is an art museum! The best on Earth! No joke. There's a huge rivalry between Brits and French, so trust me, I only say it because it's true. Notre Dame is a cathedral. Really famous architecture. Weird gargoyles. Not that fun, but I dunno if you're into castles and stuff? The Doctor is an absolute nerd for historical things like that. He was supposed to take me lava surfing... he took me to the first largest telescope on Earth instead. [Swirls a finger in a circle, clearly unenthused.] Woot. The Eiffel Tower is SUPER romantic though!
OH!!! RIGHT! New York City has a gateway too! I've never been, actually! I only went to -- New New New New New New New New New New New New New New -- I lost count, but fifteen News; York. [Crosses eyes and nods!] But the Statue of Liberty is a huge monument to American ideals by the same guy; Eiffel, who designed the Eiffel Tower!
New York is probably closer to what you're used to but still super ancient. Like Nova minus... 2000 years maybe? No, that can't be right. 500 years? Probably that. [Laughs and shakes her head.] You'd think I'd be better at time travel but ehhhh... There's a lot to keep track of. And I always let Jack and the Doctor handle it whenever I could.
Anyway, if you go with Paris, the Rheine river is really nice, especially in the 1700s, but even in the 2000s. Don't go in the 1400s. But the bridges and riverbanks are nice and there's all sorts of great cafes, even with the 1400s.
Re: [Video]
He listens attentively to her explanation of all these Earth places, trying to file it away for further consideration and just trying to get some mental picture of what these places look like. ]
No 1400s, they lack plumbing and important attractions. Noted. I don't think Kay would think it's very funny if I take him someplace that claims to be a city and has all the comforts of a camping trip.
You've given me a lot of information, I'm going to share all this with Kay. If we don't go now maybe we can visit Paris in the future. Even if it ends up being the 1400 Paris, I don't think we would mind so much if it's just for a day trip. If New York is anything like Nova Kay probably won't like it, he doesn't like being in Nova City.
Re: [Video]
What doesn't he like about Nova? New York wouldn't treat him the way Nova does. Depending on the century. Early enough, between the 1900s and 2500s, they'd probably treat him the same as any human. A lot of people wander the city in costumes. It's a strange place.
Re: [Video]
[ Now that's worth some consideration. Worth testing, too, if he can convince Kay to give it a try. ]
He doesn't feel comfortable in Nova City, even with the rights robots have there nowadays it reminds him too much of the inequalities at home. He's also more vulnerable there. People who wish to do him harm will know exactly how to go about it with a robot, unlike in the other towns... and we do have a talent for running into trouble.
Re: [Video]
[Holds up a finger, and demonstrates.] It's a dance.
Yeah, he'll probably be fine in New York then! The food's really good, the hotels are not so go elsewhere at night, but its famous monument is the Statue of Liberty, by the same guy: Eiffel as Paris' tower. If you go on New Year's they have fireworks, but I think their time just corresponds with ours, no pickin' and choosin'. And some of the museums and things might interest you two, not really sure. It's one of the reasons I don't suggest it with the Doctor. [LAUGHS.] He'd drag me to all the museums and library and I'd just rather people watch at Times Square, the statue, or catch every broadway play ever. Never go to historical museums with a time traveler. They just like to show off how they lived it, and then you have to tell 'em to put their money where their mouth is and take you there instead.
Oh! There's great music and discos and nightlife though, and they'd let Kay in easy peasy. Just ask me an' Jack if you need a fake ID for him anywhere in the other gates. With Jack, it might not even be fake. I never did get the full story of his adventures in America. That's where New York is.
Re: [Video]
[ He looks more than a little amused. ]
I'll make sure to stay away from museums in the company of time travellers, though. That sounds like good advice. I'm pretty sure I would be insufferable in a museum that interests me, too.
Re: [Video] / [Locked]
Nah, not like him. Unless you'd go around correcting everything and making comments about they got things wrong and you call Cleopatra Cleo, and married her. Enthusiasm is adorable, and the fun of going on adventures with him! The arrogance and smug superiority I could do without.
But don't tell him I said that. [Locks this even.]
Earth's basically his second home, we've adopted him, and him us, because his birth planet was erased from time. So he likes to show off. A LOT. I still love him, but I hate museums with him sometimes. Maybe if it was more interactive, yeah? [Laughs.] Then again.... One time I thought I was gonna be a model for a statue, but I got trapped as a statue instead, so to avoid a paradox, he went and learned sculpting for six months from one of Earth's best sculptors of all time. Romantic, yeah, but also, does nothing to dissuade his ego, yeah?
[Pretending to be the Doctor with a sniff.] My sculpture is better.
And he says I'm too competitive!
Plus the only stuff he gets that giddy over is the stuff they do on school lectures! Well, hardly surprising given he wound up doing that himself, but he's got it all backwards! I wanna hear about the stuff no one else knows! And see it with own hands and live it, yeah? But seeing as you didn't grow up on Earth, I don't think you'd get bored like me. [Another laugh.] So have fun you two, yeah?
Re: [Video] / [Locked]
I'm sure you're not too competitive. [ It's offered a little tentatively. He's not sure if it's true but he should probably agree. She did give him good information about New York and Paris. ]
And I don't think I will get bored with school lecture information, no. I've never had these school lectures... and I'm used to dry information. A year of reading case files has me well prepared for, ah, history museums.
Re: [Video] / [Locked]
Ew. You just sold me on never running for guardian. There's too much paperwork just in Torchwood!
Re: [Video] / [Locked]
Oh yes, if you don't like paperwork I don't think you would enjoy being Guardian... or if you can't stand it, at least, I doubt there's ever been a Guardian who truly enjoyed it. Mind you, you could probably get away with not doing it but that'd just lead to more trouble down the road.
Re: [Video] / [Locked]
So glad my Dad didn't get much into politics. Least not beyond what Torchwood already was, yeah?
