[Voice]

Action [Any forest, beaches, or drinking at the bar]
Wherever he goes, he walks silently like a shadow. Unnoticed, invisible, throughout the cities, the forest, wherever he feels like going. One blink of an eye you might see him. The next blink, you don’t. For he’s the Night Walker, one of his many names, and he wanders at night, exploring the cities.

Late at night, he would drink in any seedy bar and keep things to himself. It was hard to see his expression beneath his red hat and the surrounding dark aura around him, drinking his wine and spirits in the corner all alone by himself.

Wherever he goes, he's a tall figure, wearing a red coat, and a red wide-brimmed hat, and a pair of sunset orange sunglasses. The wind whipped at his tailcoat. His shadow overcast darkness itself, blending with the night. Wandering, aimless in his nightly strolls.

Audio
[Here's a voice that Genessia never heard before. It was a deep baritone, dark..and tired. And sad. And lethargic. That voice would have been proud once, even menacing, but the owner of the voice is trying.]

"How do you handle the heat wave? It's hot. Still, for a summer night, it's a good night to drink some blood chilled with ice. I preferred to drink blood, then wine afterward to make it sweet. I feel so hot, exhausted, and thirsty.

I haven't drunk anything decent in 30 years. I think I would pick the path of asceticism by now, but that path is unappealing as most religions go. But I won't lie. I am starving.

Whatever is in those blood bags? Beyond salvation. It's enough that I might want to give prayer a try, but I have a problem with putting my hands together and kneel. "

[Uh-oh somone is a harsh critic tonight.]

Oh, it's not? Well, isn't normal to be interested in oneself? You see, I'm a vampire as well.

[He mentions while pouring himself a cup of tea.]

A dhampir, actually. Though, most don't seem to realize it until I walk in sunlight.

Every myth holds a sliver of truth.

[He's rustling a bit in the background in search for the sugar.]

Or that's just what I was always told.

[Augustine pauses for a moment once that question is asked. Is he proud? He never gave that question much thought but is he?

Sometimes he doesn't know.
]

...I would think so. I never shied from telling the truth about myself to others.

Vă rog, vă rog. Not too fast now.

[A cheerful chuckle escapes Augustine once the questions start rolling. It seems his new colleague is very curious about him. That's all fine and dandy to him! Beats having this vampire trying to hunt him.

Augustine figures a half-breed like him is a little out of the norm. Humans and vampires are often enemies, not lovers. So a half-breed like him is truly a rariety. Especially since his mother was a vampire rather than human unlike most cases.
]

Yes, I can walk in daylight. Although, my abilities wane heavily in direct sunlight. My affinity to the night is reason for that.

[He's also almost blind during the day. No one knows that he wears glasses sometimes.]

As for summoning, I'm...not able to summon bats but rather demons instead. I'm likened to a "mage" in that regard.

[Less like Gandalf and more like Merlin.]

Oh, I actually do have a favorite weapon but that's a secret.

[There's so many different types of vampires in Genessia, many which are more unusual than Augustine could ever imagine. However, they all share that inability to sire children. All except for dear Ramica Mikela Vlad Tepes, his mother. She was the proverbial "Eve " of their kind and the beginning of the end for humanity.]

I've seen what sunlight does to my dear huntress. She's vampire much like myself but she's the kind who cannot walk in daylight. [He sighs.] Being unable to see the sun rise seems quite unfair.

[Augustine grins in spite of himself at that next bit.]

That I did! I've been studying the Dark Arts since childhood and continued in such practice throughout my life. I'm better with magic than with swords, friend. Although, I'm a decent marksman sometimes. Just woefully out of practice but yes, you know of the Clavicula Salomonis Regis. Excellent! I suppose you took up Demonology.

[He honestly haven't had much need for firearms in Genessia. His magic suffices enough.]

Well met, Alucard. Nice to see----[He pauses.] --- I mean, nice to hear from another vampire. Nevertheless, I'm Augustine Gheorghe Vlad Tepes. I'm the currently the curator of the Nova Museum.

[Augustine grows silent as Alucard speaks. He listens to every word intently with renewed fascination once this confession begins. Yes, confession. It feels like Augustine is the priest within a confessional booth listening to the misdeeds of a sinner. That's a feeling that almost takes him back to his earlier years as an acolyte. It's somewhat disturbing but also quite...intimate for the lack of a better word.

He barely knows anything about Alucard besides his name but he senses a kindred spirit in this mysterious vampire. That somewhat worries him.
]

Regret does nothing to change the past. So, I don't fault you for not having any regrets. [Augustine quickly interjects before that next bit damn near knocked him off his seat.] You know her?!

[Why is he so shocked? Well, he didn't think Rip would know any other vampires beside the usual troupe in Everglade. Alucard never came up in their conversations, at least not by actual name.]

...Is that so? [He still somewhat stunned by this revelation.] If you were the one who buried what was left of the Tepes line, then were you...the last one?

[Augustine frowns.]

Despite the parallels between us, everything is so different. In your world, the Tepes line is long gone but in mine---we live yet still. [He pauses briefly, clearly lost in thought now.] This must be a paradox, one forged by time itself. Time is an entity unknown to us, a force that is truly infinite and omnipresent.

While time is force by which we cannot hope to understand, I do know that sometimes time veers off course and creates a new path.

[And he hails from that different course.]

You speak so kindly of me, Alucard. Almost too kindly. I take your compliments with humility and your wisdom with earnest. Rip is...doing well here in Genessia. As well as she can, I believe. I'm not alone in assisting her. She has quite a large family.

[He can't help but smile some. His smile is almost felt through his words.]

She'll be fine, Alucard. I'll make sure she'll be safe and sound.
