1st Bite [Arrival! Action/Video]

When Li woke up, the first thing she realized was that she was in tight quarters and the second thing was the sound of water. The combination of the two sent her into a brief panic, lashing out with her legs to kick open the pod with a violent burst as she scrambled out of the pod and on to the beach. She barely registered where she was before she was making her way to the cave entrance. Somehow, she'd managed to keep hold of the box and pamphlet she woke up with.

The sandy blonde woman didn't calm down until she had the water far behind her and the sky over head at the cave entrance and only then did she start to really consider where she was...and felt annoyed that someone had dared to relocate her in her sleep!

She wanted answers and thankfully there was a conveniently placed hologram to help... Anyone strolling by would find a slightly impatient new arrival that didn't seem all that happy with the information being provided. But, at least she was smart enough to put on the necklace?

[Video]

[Sometime after her arrival and finding her lodgings...Li decided to try out her phone. It wasn't the first time she's had one. It's just the first time she hasn't stolen one off some pour soul.]

So, Let me get this straight. Some jackass pulled me from where I was yesterday and put me here with a bunch of other people and now I'm trapped. Fucking hell that sounds like the story of my life right now.

[Yeah, she's not thrilled in the slightest. Can anyone tell?]

So, despite what the white hologram princess said, I only have one question. Where does someone get a decent barbecue around here? I'm partial to pulled pork personally. It's the closest to what I'd normally eat.

[Returning from a brief venture, Athos stands there with his groceries at hand when some little woman comes scrambling out from the bay. He stares at her curiously for a moment, slightly alarmed by the panic etched upon her face. It doesn't take him long to realize her to be a new arrival once she nears the hologram. Always willing to help for better or for worse, Athos lowers his bags upon a nearby bench before strolling over.]

Pardon. [He says quietly enough not to spook her.] Do you need any help?

[Recalling when he first arrived here in Genessia, Athos just hopes the woman won't attack him. She looks terribly disoriented.]

[Disoriented and highly on her guard. Li wasn't exactly thrilled with her relocation and it showed. The way she was moving gave way to her being something much more than her appearance, like she had forgotten just what form she was stuck in at the moment.

So when he approached, she backed up and gave him a wary look which might not look like much from a woman that was stood at 5'4 in height. For a brief moment, she almost seemed more equine in her movement before she remembered herself and focused on the person speaking at her.]

...Depends on what kind of help you can give.

Oh my..I'm glad you're safe now. No one really has kidnapped or attacked each other. We're on the same raft.

[cue worried chirping noises]

..There's a lot of restaurants that have a lot of food! I don't know what barbecue is, but looking in Nova City would be your best bet. What's your name?

[pauses]

And are you okay? You're not hurt..?

[Athos raises his hands briefly to demonstrate that he's unarmed except for the dagger at his boot. His approach is purposely slow and steady.]

I'm unarmed. [He states as he slowly lowers his hands.] No need to be alarmed.

[Now that the woman hasn't bolted, Athos relaxes a little.]

It depends on what sort of help you require.

[At least now Li's a little more calm as she hears another new voice and the chirping caught her attention enough to make her more curious than angry at the moment.]

Yeah, I got that. Still annoying as all hell though....And Barbecue is delicious. Kind of like.. eating meat with a tangy red sauce that tastes better than blood.

[Don't ask.]

...Name's Li and yeah, I found my way to this stupid little stall, apartment...living space. Not sure if I like it or not.

So, who are you anyway.

[Even unarmed, she was wary of some stranger approaching her. But, the more she focused the more she realized his scent was human and that calmed her a bit along with his slow motions.

To her, that scent meant he wasn't a threat. He was an annoyance and potentially edible in the future.]

There's always need to be alarmed when you wake up if a fucking cave in some sort of coffin thing with no explanation and the last thing you remember is sleeping in a field under the stars.

[She stamped her foot slightly.]

So just explain how this happened! The white talking princess thing explained something and the papers are just annoying. So explain.

[Hana hummed] I'm Hana~ And yeah those apartments are super duper cramped, but they do have nifty tools in there! Like the cooling box or-OR! The Doom Heating box!

I liked that one...[she murmured to the side, missing it already]

But ah..you're a carnivore? Oooh or perhaps a vampire then? There's many places for blood or meat-at..least from what I hear. I don't really...ah..

..You mean the fridge and the microwave.

[She may be a horse, but, even she's picked up on certain advancements in cooking in the last century or so. ]

Yeah, I'm a carnivore and no, I'm not some leech of a vampire. I'm something else completely different.

[Pause.]

What kind of meat and where ?

Ah yes!

[Hana pointed at the screen, remembering the words] Those things! Hehe you know your stuff then~

Wait..something different? Vampires are cool, but are there others like them or..?

[stars were in her eyes, this was great! another creature for her to meet!]

Any! You can head to Everglade if you want very exotic meats or even blood! And in Nova City there's just lots of variety..oh-oh! I can say from people that Fayren's got reaally fresh meats too.

[pauses]

...Barbecue sounds like a Nova thing though..not sure, never had that sort before...hmmm..

[Li just kind of stares at Hana, taking that in and finding her curious when Everglade's mentioned. Especially wen it comes to exotic meats considering her usual food source.

That just meant she had to check it out.]

Well, I sure as hell don't need blood. Just meat. It's the only thing I can eat and finding a good food source or hunting ground is always a good priority to have.

[And she might introduce the kid to barbecue sauce at some point.Maybe.]

[..Then. An idea! Hana grinned widely]

Then..how about you take on a job I have? You hunt and gather things for the business you work at. I only eat souls, but you can find really really neat trinkets.

Just a thought if you want the thrill and something to eat.

Plus it'd be fun to have a buddy by my side~

...Yeah no. Not happening. I'm not working for humans.

[She snorted slightly and gained a slightly sour look just at the thought!]

And what do you mean you eat souls? How haven't they killed you yet? Humans hate things like us so why the hell are you willing to work with them.

[Well. Actually a lot of the Light Seekers in her war were humans...but she was in DENIAL. They weren't HER humans]

I mean, I know they fear me sometimes so I must look human for them so they won't get scared. [Hana scratched her cheek, looking to the side]

But ah-yes! That's my duty as Guardian. I must protect and when someone's at their end and ready to pass, they and I become one until we pass together and I guide the way~

[ Yeah. First days are always fun. But food is a good thing to focus on, he appreciates that priority. ]

They love barbecues in Attleton, it's probably your best bet to find pulled pork on a menu. Otherwise you'll have to wait until there's some community barbecue, these would have it for sure.

[ Which, honestly, means waiting three hours or so. Somebody's always having a barbecue in Attleton. ]

[Lets just say, she's very food oriented at times.]

Attleton huh? Then I guess I need to check that place out right away.

Wait, what.

Are you a Cú Sídhe or something? I mean, you don't look like one of them. but, that sounds kinda what some of them do.

Cozy Toesies Inn and Restaurant should be a good place to start. I go there mostly for the apple pie but they are known for their local cuisine comfort food in general.

[ Food priorities are good priorities! ]

Cozy..Toesies. I'd say that's a strange name but, I'm seen stranger. But, it's a place to start I guess. Especially if they have what I'm looking for.

I've also had places in somewhere called Everglade's suggested. Guess there's things I really need to check out soon.

I know someone of refined tastes who happened to very much appreciate the barbecue offered from Honey's Pit and Grill in Genessia City when he was here.

[ It was her brother, but her father is still here so she dare not admit that she was sneaking her brother finger food while he is. Whitley might not be here anymore, but she doesn't need their father breathing down his neck for eating messy foods if he comes back. ]

An heiress is set to inherit property and legacies. In my world, I was set to inherit Schnee Dust Company, which is the world's largest energy propellant company in our world. While we do assist the military in weapons development and energy supply, we are in no way in charge of making political decisions or running the country like royalty would.

[ In case she wanted the technical definition! Which she didn't ask for but Weiss does like to be specific. ]

That said, I'm technically not that either anymore.

[ Weiss sends her a little image of a map with the location circled. She had it saved on her phone already from when she wanted to find it. ]

[She rolls her eyes at the technical definition being thrown at her and finds herself more interested in the map when it appears on her phone. She's trying to study it for a moment and then snorts faintly and tosses her head slightly.]

Right...Now lets see if I can find this place. I haven't had a decent thing to eat in a few weeks.

[Or, at least her definition of decent. It's best not to ask.]

Why not?

[ Weiss has no idea what this girl has been through, but that doesn't sound like a normal circumstance. She hopes it isn't. ]
