Second Bite [Video]
[Though the setting isn't very bright, barely lit in fact, there was no sense in hiding his identity in such a small, closed off world. Zelman may have caused some trouble, but not nearly enough to warrant him to be concerned of making any real enemies.]
Is everyone making a timely recovery? It was unfortunate for those of us to fall into harms way unexpectedly.
We wouldn't want to have another attack so soon while recuperating.
[A vague threat, perhaps? Or a questionable show of concern for people here.]
Is anyone conducting preemptive measures if this were to occur again?
[Private to Ishtar]
I shouldn't need to remind you what time it is.
[He can and will hunt someone to feed from if she does not present herself. It was the agreement after all, and he was kind enough to humor her with it.]

[Audio]
I imagine the…man responsible for the attack intends to lie low for the time being. I doubt he wishes to present himself as an easy target so soon after making that many enemies.
…We have had our warning, I am sure there is no reason why we would not be better prepared the next time.
[Was that a warning threat of his own, or just a statement?]
[Audio]
[Aside from that.]
It would be naive to think he is the one and only assailant among us. [Not that Zelman was trying to draw attention to his little arson on the day of, but really, did these people not think ahead?]
I have yet to see anyone take initiative for next time.
[And Zelman was certain there will be a next time.]
[Audio]
[There's a pause at that.]
... Just because you cannot see it, that does not been plans are not already being set in place. Or are you claiming to be omniscient?
[Audio]
He enjoyed provoking reactions and luring people into conflict. It was a form of entertainment.]
Are you implying that you, or a accomplice is building a defense for a future attack?
[Out of curiosity. He would never initiate trouble on his own. He wasn't so reckless to turn a whole city against him.]
I claimed no such thing.
[Audio]
He had two options for answering that question - pretend that he had a defence planned, thus making himself a target, but perhaps putting off a potential attacker; or claim that there was no defence, which might mean a future attack was more carelessly planned, but also show him and his allies as vulnerable. Hm.
In the end, he decided to flaunt his ego. There was the chance that Zelman would not take him seriously: ]
Mais bien sûr! Do you really think one as powerful and beautiful as moi would go without preparing a defence? I want to at least be prepared enough that I may have the chance to comb my hair and make a truly elegant reappearance should another attack occur!
[Audio]
Least to say, Zelman had no way to challenge his lie if it was one. He lacked the resources he once had to dig for information of this nature. There was one thing he could challenge the other one, however.]
Was it not you, one of whom lost to this crazed winged-man? [His caretaker was rather aggressive and hard to miss. Another young girl was killed altogether according to that dreary footage displayed by that sobbing blonde.]
How do we know it won't happen again?
[Satsuki appears on the feed, and she doesn't look very amused. Then again, that's rather normal for her.]
If one thing has become apparent, more leaders would be a good start. Is that a hint of volunteering?
[It was a mere storm, and the only ones who were killed were the ones who sought him out. The rest were accidents caused by the storm.]
The point I am trying to get at is we may be locked in an endless cycle of failure due to lack of leadership. That does not sound particularly entertaining to me. [Satsuki is purposely leaving some details, but she doesn't think it's important in this example.] How about you?
If we're addressing this on a political level then you, someone whom takes initiative as a leader, must be aware of the influx between who comes and goes. We're not simply speaking for those exclusively who have been here past their expiration date, but those who have come and gone before they had a chance to make any real impact. If you truly intend to account for every last immigrant of this settlement to abide by the lines set out for us, then you have a plan to combat the radical changes in the population here?
[It's not even an easy problem to resolve in theory. Truth be told it was more entertaining this way.]
[She shakes her head.]
Of course, I am merely assuming that it does, which was why I asked that particular question. If it does, is that not enough reason to persue a leadership role and help make the change?
If the city cannot defend itself, that is the city's problem.
[Unlike here, he actually did come from a city which could defend itself, and he considered that city his home. Which is why he was willing to lend his aid there in the first place. But here. Here was different.]
Problems such as the hospital event were just an example of how poorly organized you people are, so I will reiterate this again. Until you come clean about your intentions regarding the instability caused by the greater power, you've no hope of making this a safe place to live.
[And that was that. Zelman will merely observe, and only stand in when it threatened his own existence.]
It would appear I gave you too much credit.
[Satsuki doesn't appear to be particularly annoyed, but she most certainly is. Not by any particular words but more for the fact that he seems content to do nothing, much like how she deems the majority of denizens here.
As for 'coming clean'.. She isn't certain she's even capable of that.]
Perhaps. But I find that doubtful. Best of luck with your 'elsewhere obligations'.
So you claim, but I'm sure even a woman of your caliber is aware what the stakes are.
[He'll be here...watching...observing...and waiting. Whether he got involved or not was a different story, but so long as actions remained public, he would know what was going on.]
May this luck of yours assist you in this goal of yours.
[Laughable. He hopes failures plague her.]
[ locked ]
Yeah. When do you want me to come by, Zelman?
[ Her voice was even, and calm despite everything that was going on. She didn't need anymore people falling victim to other things like hospital destrcution or vampire attacks. She knew a lot about different types of vampires. Zelman, albeit a bit sharp tongued wasn't all that annoying. ]
[ locked ]
I feel sorry you even have to ask.
[ locked ]
Right. You're calling me because you want it now, don't you?
[ Not like it matters. She shifts. ]
I'll be over in ten minutes.
[ locked ]
I expect no less.
[ locked ]
I'll be hanging up now.
[ She replied nodding his head. As soon as she ended the feed, she followed the familiar streets and such to his home. ]
[ Action ] Probably a Nova City place baha
[ Action ] that's fine. XD
Good afternoon, Zelman.
[ She greeted him briefly. ]
[ Action ]
[The redhead rose casually from his comfortable sofa. How courteous of her, to arrive when she said she would. Ishtar has yet again spared someone else from becoming his dinner.
His cold touch ran up her arm before his palm gently rested on one side of her neck. Call it stability because humans were unable to keep their composure upon being bitten. Who could blame them? It was such a sensational feeling, and she was about to re-experience it. He leaned in and sinked his teeth into her neck.]
[ Action ]
[ She's tired, and exhausted. There's not much fight from her as he approached her. She shivered briefly at the cold touch, never getting used to the way vampire skin felt. It's embarrassing almost to experience the same sensation again, but she couldn't really let other people suffer in her stead. She would just laugh it off as another way to relieve sexual tension-- if she ever had that to begin with with and she flinched briefly upon the contact of fangs sinking into her neck.
The feeling was overwhelming when she was bit into, a strange sensation that made her face fluster. ]
Mmmnn...
[ Action ]
Ishtar was a different matter. Other than her volunteering her blood, she wasn't very important to him. Thus he had no qualms take more blood from her, to the point of anemia.
When he had his fill, he kindly released his hold. Try not to collapse to carelessly. He wouldn't want you to get a concussion.]
Satisfying as always.
[ Action ]
The anemia definitely didn't help at all. She almost stumbles over, her body a bit shaky. Having so much blood taken at once made her body react strangely. She almost falls over but she manages to keep her footing. Her face was a little flustered still though... ]
...Heh.
[ A soft attempt to scoff at his words. ] Ugh, everything's spinning again.
[ Action ]
Zelman returned to his comfortable spot, only mildly surprised of her resilience.]
Appropriate for having lost as much blood as you did.
[Collapse, or don't. He doesn't care.]
[ Action ]
[ She muttered, not really going to show herself to the floor just yet. She just keeps her footing as she tries to shake off the tiredness and anemi. God this was annoying and here she thought she was used to this shit. ]
You take every last drop you can get don't you?
[ Action ]
If I took every last drop I could get, you wouldn't be breathing right now.
[ Action ]
I guess you're right. Just been ticked off lately.
[ Not his fault and she doesn't want to talk about her personal life. ]
Anyway, how long have you been in this place?
[ Action ]
May 13th.
[That was the day of his arrival. So he had been here for little over two months. It was unnerving to think that he's been here this long. Especially when it was this boring.]
[ Action ]
That's a while.
[ She replied giving him a worried look for that. Ishtar's not so negative about her experience here. It's a nice place when things aren't getting out of control. ]
[ Action ]
For a human, it must seem so.
[In actuality it was a very minuscule passage of time for him. Even if he ended up staying here for years to come.]
[ Action ]
Yeah well, it feels really long cuz humans are fleeting aren't they?
[ She whispered softly. ]
[ Action ]
[He wouldn't have worded quite like that, but that was essentially so.]
One year or ten, nothing here lasts. Even you should know that.
[ Action ]
[ Ishtar's no stranger to this to be honest. ]
I guess not.
[ Action ]
[He let out a brief chuckle.]
We could both be gone in the blink of an eye if they willed it.
[ Action ]
[ She closed her eyes again. Ugh, she really needed to get better quickly so she could walk home at least. ]
Yeah, because they're no different from the last group of pricks that take people. It's just almost mild compared to what I've seen.

How fortunate for him that he's good at hide-and-seek.
[It's been well over a week, and still no one has found him. For a town as small as this one, Zelman had to give him props for being elusive this long.]
