If I did, they'd be in touch all the time, wouldn't they? We'd go places together and they'd ask about my feelings, wouldn't they? We'd talk and eat and drink together, wouldn't we?

There's not a lot of that going on in my life, which brings me to a conclusion which suggests I don't have many friends at all.

Ultimately it seems to me you're lonely. That can be hard to circumvent. Join a group or a club or a crew. Get out there and don't be afraid to be a little vulnerable. Friendship won't always come to you. Sometimes yo have to go to it.
