Someone told me I should get a hobby... or date someone...

If hobbies are things you can get good at, and dating is the same as a hobby apparently...? Can you be really good at dating people? [IS DATING A SPORT?]

... Not that I'm considering it. I do need a hobby, apparently, or I might lose my jobs. Does anyone know of a good hobby? Right now, I just like sparring and strategic planning, and filing paperwork, and collecting the best pens for filling out paperwork... oh. And studying math and science, to refine my magic.

Do those really not count?

You could read though. Technically it counts. And you can be good at it. Or if you want a sport, you could do skateboarding. Or music. Those are hobbies too. And you have to practice to get good at them.

Practice does not help in dating. Just so you know.

Also dating might be a bit of a trial with your... magic. It'll either help you get better at controlling your magic, or it'll drive you completely insane and make you cry a lot. A lot.

For one, I personally find studying to be a hobby. As are training and collecting pens. But that is not widely considered to be a "fun" hobby by many. But have you tried traveling?

I haven't tried that here, actually. I'm always working in Attleton and Everglade, so I haven't really gone outside of those two cities. Do you think there are sights to see in the other cities? I haven't gone there outside of work.

Hobbies are things you like to do for fun. If you like strategic planning and math, maybe you could try playing videogames or boardgames that require such skill.

From what I know dating is the opposite of a hobby. A hobby is something to kill time when you don't have work or school, or other important things.

As people have already told you dating is something completely different. Unless you count those who do that thing for an actual job.

As mentioned before, video games are a fun hobby. There's all sorts games for you to try out.

One of my hobbies is reading history books about the Sengoku Era, and novels. You can find a genre or topic you enjoy in books and comics.

Sports or learning a type of dance can help you stay in shape.
