[he appears on screen, his right arm in a sling, hand completely bandaged, though somewhat inexpertly]
Before you ask, trouble with a robotic naked mole rat that has since gone -- well I would say to meet its maker but obviously [gesture] we've met. Not to worry, I'm undiquedexterous.
First announcement. School is starting up soon! I know you're all looking forward to it so I'll keep this brief... for anyone old and new who is taking my class starting mid-to-late August depending on the astral calendar... the book list is out on my website, also available on my office door. It's roughly sequential. Very roughly. But be sure to pick up: Our Cosmos, Ourselves and Life, the Universe and Everything. There's also an electronic version of the Cosmos one if you don't want to lug around a five thousand page textbook.
Second item, CDs and various other formats of the performances at the Music Festival are now on sale. If you've participated, you're entitled your share in order to hoard, distribute, date, make miniature models of, etc whatever you want to do. I'm whipping 'round a poster to have autographed by everyone that sang, even if you popped up for the open mic or at the last song. It would mean a lot to me if you jotted something down but no pressure.
Finally, I feel like we need a good going out of summer bonfire or something of that nature. What do you think?
[he makes a peace sign]
Professor out! [and cuts the feed. For the moment anyway]

Of course! But you have to start things off slow before you dive into, say, the fifteen years worth of quantum philosophy. Which is not only complex but also drier than a sandstorm on Mars.
See? It's topical.
And it should, but it rarely does. On the other hand it gets out earlier in the year.
[And what's wrong with being thrown into complex stuff right away? She was thrown into learning to be human and a demon right away and she hasn't died from it.]
School here sounds, like, a cheeky bitch then. In my world it, like, knows it's schedule and sticks with it.
You're, like, letting it be too independent before it's ready for it. Before you know it, it will be, like, staying active at crazy hours at night and having wild parties without, like, any safety control.
Also, I don't control the calendar. Take it up with the school system.
You should come to the class, by the way. Sit by Rose. She'll let you crib her notes.
[Again, it worked for her. School was hardly boring when her mind was running a mile per second trying to piece together what was it's purpose, why was she there and what use would it have to memorize the long list of kings her country had had.]
[She still hasn't found the use for that list.]
Rose goes too?
[If it's the Rose she thinks it is that is a good selling point.]
Hmm, I still haven't, like, really looked at how school works here. I was thinking of just, like, focus on work. Or can I, like, just choose to what classes go?
[he's not really interested in advice right now. Unsolicited or otherwise]
Rose Tyler, yes. You know her?
And that depends on the Profe. But you're free to come to mine as you choose if you just want to audit it.
I didn't mean to, like, criticize or anything. Sorry.
[She was just honestly asking the why of his method. But she knows that people tend to not like to be questioned on that. Or on anything unless they ask for it.]
Yes, like, I met her the other day and, like, she gave me a hug when I was giving out, like, free hugs! And she's, like, super nice.
[So Rose goes to this class. Well, classes aren't for socializing but...]
So Cosmos and Rose... I think I will, like, take up on that and, like, audit your classes, Professor. So long as, like, there's not an urgent case that, like, needs our full attention.
What's, like, the name of your website? And will, like, the class schedule be there or, like, should I look for that in another site?
[She's already writing down the book he mentioned before. Yes, she will carry that monster around, she has carried worse around.]
I'll get the schedule up when he gives me the list. And before dinner. So probably today, because neither of us are good when we're hungry, we're totally monstrous then.
Thank you, Rose! And, like, thank you too, Professor.
[She just hopes Carver won't have some crisis or something due her age and her auditing a class.]
I'll, like, see you in class then, if not, like, earlier.
[not here]
[Not that he'll attend himself. He could be convinced to teach forensics though. With enough pressure/bribes.]

[Every time!]
[But just like that, she's placid again!]
Okay. [Plz ignore her happy day-dreamy state.]
[I-It's not like she's in love with you or a-anything! B-baka!]
