Act 06 | [Video]
[Private Action - Residents of Estate One]
[Macarons.
Macarons everywhere.
Mobius had quite a few productive hours in the kitchen, given how many there were on a few vertically stacked trays. With Sonico's return home, he had to make sure he had a good gift for her ready! So he'd gone out of his way to make quite a few, many of which were a variety of vibrant colors and flavors. He hadn't planned to make quite so many, but... well. He had a groove going. Once he gets a groove, he's actually productive! ... "for once" as Caelestis would say.
Noibat and Woobat were perched up on the higher cupboards to stay out of Mobius' way, but not all were so polite in that regard, because Quatre was on his heels the whole time... ... and because of that, there were a few smaller, pet friendly flavors set aside in a bowl on the far counter. Quatre was a spoiled boy, Mobius wasn't about to deny that one.
After finishing piping the filling onto at least a dozen more macarons awaiting their other half, he used his sleeve to wipe away some sweat off his brow... and then looking around to see and actually realize just how many of the little treats he'd actually made. And there were way more there than what two people would get through.]
... oh 'eck.
[Mobius was still in the kitchen when he turned the video on, and network onlookers could see the dozens of macarons that were actually visible on screen. Don't worry, there were more that weren't visible.]
So. The thought crossed my mind a few times about maybe opening a small café. Dunno if it's a good idea, or if it's been done to death.
[He sheepishly glances over his shoulder, where there was now a Noibat admiring the stacks of macarons.]
... It'd. Uh. Certainly save me from over baking, at least.
[He looks back at the camera, his ear feathers twitching.]
Turns out it's fun to experiment. Ah ha...
[Cleaning all of the bowls and pans is going to take an eternity. Help.]
Dunno what I could bring to a café that's unique. I've got recipes that are safe for pets and Pokémon though. That's something I think?
[There's a loud bark from his little corgi companion, making him look down with a pout.]
No. Not all of the pet treats are for you. You have to save some for Starky, Meiji and Fest too.

That would be wonderful, if you really can! My Pokemon are so good, but I'm never sure what treats I can give them.
no subject
[Nothing but berries sounds like torture to him, really.]
Turns out they like these treats called poffins and "poke puffs" so! I tried my hand at making them. My three seemed to like them, so I wouldn't mind making them regularly if that's something people are interested in.
[action]
Hello! Everyone? I'm home!
*But there was one housemate in particular that she was desperate to see. As soon as she had called out her return home, Sonico moved quickly into the house, wanting to get to Mobius as quickly as possible*
no subject
Mobius, meanwhile, peered around a door frame, smiling when he saw her.]
Well hey, who let the angel is?
[He stepped out fully, opening his arms to offer a hug as he approached.]
Orrr is "mermaid" more appropriate? Both suit you perfectly. Welcome home, Sonico.
no subject
Hi sweetie - where's your handsome daddy?
*But then Mobius appeared around the door and Sonico was swiftly on her feet again. She probably would have tripped over Quatre if he hadn't shuffled out of her way. Sonico practically bounced at Mobius, throwing her arms around him with enthusiasm and hugging tight*
I'm finally home! I missed you!
no subject
I missed you too. It was weird having to survive with Cassian and Kay without you around.
[He won't talk about that near brush with "food" death courtesy of Kay.]
How was your trip? Was it everything you could have hoped for?
no subject
Oh... I'm sorry... That was bad of me. I hope they still made you feel happy and welcome here.
*She still held onto Mobius, but started slowly looking around and taking in the macarons in the kitchen*
It was amazing! I'm very glad that I did it... You seem to have been busy too.
no subject
Nooo, don't worry, I was joking. You having a good time was way more important to me. Even if, y'know, I missed you. Like. A lot.
[He looks over his shoulder and laughs sheepishly.]
Ah, yeah, I... er. I wanted to make you a batch of macarons to welcome you back, aaand I kind of. Got carried away.
[He looks back at her with a big smile.]
I regret nothing.

video;
[Rapunzel should be training but is instead replying to this with dumb ideas.]
Like inside the cafe have different things made from them.
no subject
That would be interesting. I'm not sure about the structural integrity of macarons, though.
Or maybe they'd hold up better than I think. But I dunno if I'd have the artistic eye to make that happen. I'm a baker, not an architect.
no subject
[She just like the thought of doing something people might though impossible, even if she should be doing other things instead.]
no subject
[If anything, at least he doesn't think he needs to be that flashy to get a business off the ground.]
On a smaller scale, I've seen people group cupcakes together and draw something in icing on top of them. I could do something as simple as that, at the very least.
no subject
no subject
[He taps his cheek and looks up.]
This is starting to sound like a good plan. Guess I better start looking for places to open up shop, huh?
no subject
I think your top three should be Attleon, Nova City and Genessia.
video;
[Allen's thoughts of cafes. He just comes for the food, nothing else.]
no subject
[He scratches the back of his head.]
Granted, I don't think most places around could boast the possibility of baked treats for their animal companions. That could be good enough in addition of things for us folk, I guess.
no subject
That's true. I mean Link here. [He's talking about his Pokemon that was currently sweeping some remains of containers.] Back in the last place I was at, had to eat whatever I did. There was nothing unique to him. Even here I haven't noticed any places. So it's certain unique.
no subject
Berries seemed to be the only thing that I could see here that was mentioned being for Pokemon. I'm sure they need variety like we do too.
[He folds his arms and ponders, his feathers twitching.]
Maybe I'm overthinking the rest of it. I'm putting too much attention on what's unique for us when I've got a decent enough plan already.
no subject
[Allen turned his head briefly.]
As do my friends as well. Though... one only eats simply because he is copying me.
no subject
Yeah, you're right. I can always think about making things fancier later on if I want to.
[He just may need to get someone's help somewhere along the way. But he's getting ahead of himself.]
Maybe I'll start thinking about menus and location then. I've sure needed something to do with my time here. I'm in too much of a rut.
[It's better than the shit he put up with last time he was here, sure, but he didn't like when his life got too boring.]
no subject
[So long as there is no alcohol then he would nope right out of there.]
But I will wish you good luck for what you want to do.
Video
Hmm... Cake Town already has crepes on their menu the last time I checked. Perhaps you could have ice cream and gelato to go with your baked pastries? They're easy to make.
no subject
[After he made all these macarons. He's really going to need to lay off the sugar.]
That does sound good, and even beneficial in the current weather... but, er, how easy is it? That's something I haven't done before.
no subject
[ Ayame makes a few swiping motions at the screen, sending Mobius a list of required tools and some cookbook suggestions ]
It's a shame I no longer have my old house in Attleton. I had everything you could ever need to make some homemade ice cream.
no subject
Wait. That's it? Really?!
[He clearly thought making that was way harder than it actually is.]
Ah, well, I wouldn't have wanted to get in your way while blue skying an idea. I'm not entirely sure I'd be able to pull it off.
no subject
[ Ayame hums, tapping her cheek with her finger as if a light bulb lit in her head ]
Cafe Blue Sky would make a good name...
no subject
[He's confident in his baking, at the very least, but he's happy to try his hand at something new too.]
That does sound nice. Maybe I can see if there's any building vacancies out by the pond, too. Have a nice pond front view to enjoy pastries with.
[The more he talks about it, the more he's really getting into the idea for sure.]
no subject
[ Ayame nods approvingly. Sweets + a place with water sounds like a great place for her. She's always had an affinity for water, and she knows Sonico does too. Which lead her mind to go there for a moment, but she chose to not harangue Mobius about it ]
Just watch out for the ducks. They can be a little troublesome. As I learned when I went there with my cat once.
no subject
He better, Fest is going to claw him if he doesn't leave her any treats. But I think a cafe with pokemon and pet treats would be nice, I'm sure they would love them. And there are enough people who like to spoil their pets that you should have plenty of customers.
no subject
[HUFFS. He'll let some bullying slide, but if that cat hurts Quatre, then there's gonna be problems.]
But, maybe I should. Especially seeing how often Pokemon seem to show up here. [He rubs the back of his head.] Can't say I know what all pets I need to account for are.
Unless. That's just something I need to think more about later.
no subject
Fest likes Quatre well enough, I'm sure she wouldn't actually claw him.
[ Lies. He's pretty sure that cat would murder him in his sleep, she is capable of all evils. ]
I've mostly run into pokemon, cats and dogs here, but it might be different in Fayren and Everglade. Something for horses, maybe?
no subject
But I don't trust her.
[Fest is an evil demon cat. He needs to get a squirt bottle or something to defend Quatre.]
Maybe I'll take a trip to the other cities and find out what's common. [Though he is mildly intimidated by the idea of going to Everglade. He has no idea if it's really as bad as people make it out to be, buuut...] I'll just have to pick up more books from the library too. I need a lotta notes to remember what's bad for certain animals.
[It's bad enough that he has to scour the ingredients on a jar of peanut butter. Why are there some with something that's nasty for dogs??? Peanut butter of all things!]
no subject
[ She is evil, he fully agrees. Unfortunately, Kay believes her to be an angel who can do no wrong, so Cassian's good and thoroughly stuck with the hellcat. ]
It's really quite complex what food different animals can eat or not, starting out in the library sounds like a good plan. I know it's pretty overwhelming when I started to figure out what Fest can eat and she's just a regular cat. But if you cater to the more extraordinary pets you'll run into less competitors.
