Ah, are you guardian of this child?

[She allowed her amber eyes to examine Yuuki for a while before she trailed to the kitchen cabinets, get her own apron, and wrap it around her waist.]

I suppose we'll have to clean up the pot first, and then we can proceed with re-creating the recipe.

[She nods slightly, looking back into the room.]

Uh, yeah. I guess here that is what I am. [It wasn't easy either way, but she knows she at least tries to help. She soon walks on over to the pot in question.]

Here it is. I'll take it to the sink. [She puts on oven mitts first before doing so since it was still a little hot, putting it in the sink.]

Okay, then I'll just wash it, but we could use another pan in the meantime, right?

Oh? Doesn't the child have any parents here in Genessia? Or, did they die during the accident over a week ago?

Ah yes, we can. Where do you keep the spare pots? I can fetch them for you.

[Ah...That question was probably the most awkward one she ever had to answer. Well she can at least answer that the best way she could. While at the same time going to fetch the spare pans.]

Currently her parents aren't here, but when we spoke it sounded like she was from my world... So I took her in and keeping an eye out for her.

[Yeah... That would do as she managed to pull out another pan before making her way to the cooker.]

That's very kind of you. Not that many people will willingly take care of someone who isn't related to them. Very kind indeed.

[She took her position beside the pan, then looked up at Yuuki.]

So, what dish did you wish to cook?

[She paused for a moment. What did she want to cook, she didn't have a clue.]

It was something to do with eggs. What can one do that simple but not too simple?

Well, if you're competent enough to cook normal eggs, I suppose I can help you cook some deviled eggs. The only problem you'll truly have is boiling the eggs perfectly. Everything else is about following the instructions and the ingredients. It's simple enough.

That sounds like a good idea and it sounds delicious too.

[She went to fetch at least six eggs before returning.]

These are the last eggs I have, so hopefully we can do it with just these in a boiling pan, right?

Yes!

[She takes the eggs, gently places them on the pan and she brings it to the sink and fills the pot with water. Enough so the eggs are half soaked in water. She then brings it back to the stove. Covers the pot with the lid and turns the stove on medium heat.]

Once we're finish boiling it, we'll have 20 minutes spare to purchase ingredients we may be lacking.

[Yuuki couldn't help but watched her with amazement, even if it were simple it was still impressive.]

20 minutes? Is it okay to ask about that? Why would we have 20 minutes to spare?

[She takes a moment to glance over at Yuuki for a moment, then just smiles at her before she eyes the pot once more.]

You see, there's a procedure to ensure that the egg is cooked perfectly. Somewhere between hard boiled and soft boiled. To do that, after it boils for a minute, we have to turn it off and leave the egg to soak in the hot water. 20 minutes later, you have the perfect egg.

[She listened and she nodded slightly. That made sense when she thought about it.]

Ah, I think I might actually be starting to understand. Maybe this will help me with cooking in the future.

Yes. Hopefully it does.

It can get very complicated, but you could borrow some books from the library. They have lots of them about different types of dishes. You start with simple dishes so you can nail the basics. Once you've perfected that, you can move on to more complicated dishes.

I'm not saying you can't handle complicated, but it is good to prepare yourself anyway.

Ah, the library. [She smiles as she looks at her.] Do you remember mentioning that place to me before? Well I went and got a job there. I'm officially a librarian.

[Which was a good thing. It meant she worked and got money and was able to support those she was meant to.]

But I understand. Start simple and work my way up... [She pauses for a moment.] That would mean eventually, I could make chocolate right?

Oh really~!? [Perhaps Kurenai was just overly friendly or affectionate. But she couldn't care less. She immediately took the other girl into her arms and hugged her.] Congratulations, Yuuki-san!

Chocolates? Well, chocolates are easy to make. It's the strokes that can be tricky.

Thank you, but um... I don't think the hug was needed.

[Strokes.... She wasn't quite sure what that meant or if she recalled seeing that in her cookbook that she used once when trying to make chocolate. She was soon looking over towards the clock, checking out the time.]

Looks like we have at least 19 minutes left.

I'm sorry. I'm just so happy for you! [She takes a few steps back.] I usually hug my friends when I'm happy for them.

[If Yuuki asks her, Kurenai will teach her everything she knows. For now, she removes the pot from the flame to allow it to set. She looks at her watch then guides Yuuki towards the door.]

Yes, we do. Shall we go for a walk? There's a grocer, half a block from your house. They should have things we need.

[She nodded as she looked back for a moment. Should she really leave an eight year old alone if only for a few minutes to thirty? She knew the kid could look after herself and she knew nothing bad was going on so she went to grab her key, making sure the kid was okay and playing before heading to the front door.]

Alright, but I can't stay out long with a kid in the house.

[Kurenai simply nods.]

We can be back here in 5-10 minutes if need be. Shall we?

[She nods, making her way to the door, opening it for the other to go through first considering she needs to lock the door after to make sure no one can get in.]

Lets go.

[After Yuuki had locked the door, Kurenai took long steps beside Yuuki to make sure they get there faster. It would be better, had she had the speed of Raiha or her beloved Kurei, but she was just an ordinary person. So she walked as fast as she could to the store.]

You're admirable for taking care of someone not related to you. Even more admirable for being so responsible.

[She kept quiet for a moment. yeah not related... She wanted to laugh and agree but she knew that wasn't the truth, so playing along to what people think was always a rather good idea so people wouldn't ask questions.]

Considering how young she is, someone had to look after her. She couldn't survive by herself in a place like this after all.

That's very noble. Or at least, I believe it to be noble. Not that many people would agree to do it, truthfully.

[Then, she opens the door into the mini-mart for Yuuki.]

Thank you. [When they had arrived she had made sure to thank her since she did open the door for her to walk through. When she goes through she goes t grab a basket.]

I guess it is, but I like to think there could be people out there who would be kind enough to take a child in. Would you do it?

I suppose I could. [Then she paused.] But I'd have to inform my boyfriend about it first, since he lives with me.

[She then looks around.] Alright. Since I boiled 6 eggs. We will need 1/4 of mayonnaise, a teaspoon of vinegar, a teaspoon of yellow mustard, some paprika, pepper and salt. Can you get most of those ingredients, Yuuki-san? I'll go get a piping bag and piping cones.
