[A figure dressed in black will appear suddenly, the air cracking with energy around him. He pushes back his hood, revealing bright blonde curls and a magnetic smile. Yet the expression isn't entirely kind nor is it settling. It's possible that this new arrival is actually furious.]

...against my wishes...? [He is impressed by the gall even as his mind works rapidly to counter it.] Do you know who I am?

[It doesn't really matter. He must press onward. The blue of his eyes sharpens.] Where might I find the Magical community? Don't say there isn't one. Witches and Wizards exist everywhere, but they are too accustomed to hiding.

So you'd prove their fears true, rather show them they were wrong. And you think that will turn out better for your cause?

They need to realize that in the grand scheme, they are weaker. It isn't their fault, of course, but this is the natural order. What came before is contrary to it.

[She is trying with all her might not to tell him he's nuts. Such a thing is simply a knee-jerk reaction to the intense wrongness of the words coming out of his mouth, and wouldn't help him at all.

Need? I do not need nor want them to be weaker. They just are. [He feels she wouldn't question this if she saw his Magic.] With the wave of my wand, I can take a life or create a nearly impenetrable defense. Muggles cannot do that; they are forced to make do with their weapons. Bullets, for example, would be fairly useless against a Wizard.

[She can feel a smile tugging at her lips, as she realizes he's trying to impress her with his abilities. It's amusing.

She has to suck in her cheek to control the grin that wants to form. He doesn't seem the type that would appreciate her laughing, when he's trying to be important.]

You focused a lot on violence there. Maybe you can out pace people in combat, but what else?

[Actually...no. Magic is awesome. Gellert's Magic even more so.

Gellert narrows his eyes, perplexed by her shift in mood.]

I can do anything that is necessary to further my cause. Magic is flexible and if there doesn't exist a useful spell, I can invent one.

[He clearly missed the part where she told him she was familiar with magic. Or perhaps he simply didn't understand it as she'd explained.]

Hmm, sounds similar to what people who don't use magic do. Invent things to fill the gaps.

[She decides then to test something. She leans back a little, so the view is clear, and with a movement of her hands and a word spoken that is no language he would have heard before, unless Espruar is common on his world, she conjures an orb of light. She makes it blue in color, and it looks like a will o'wisp. She plays with it like it where a juggler's ball, dancing it around one handed.]

Not everyone can make light for example, but fire and lanterns do the job just as well.

[That doesn't mean she is familiar with his Magic. This world is very different from the one he knows and Magic comes in many, many varieties.]

It must be a sluggish endeavor for them. [He leaves it at that, his tone colder. She is baiting him, treating him as if she knows better about his situation than he does. Of course he finds that immediately ridiculous.]

You are over-simplifying all of it.

[She sees him going colder, and sighs. Perhaps a different tactic is in order.]

I'm not trying to say I know exactly how it is for you, or your world. But I've had more than my fair share of experiences with war and oppression. I'd be remiss if I didn't try to offer you another point of view.

[She lifts a shoulder in a helpless shrug.]

I hate seeing people so steadfastly unhappy.

I have heard your point of view. [From someone he almost wishes to forget. He might be cold and calculated, but there is a certain sorrow in his eyes and lingering around his lips.]

You don't see. I want to be happy. I want to practice my Magic in the open without fear. I want the children born into my world to be themselves without fear.

[He frowns.] For example, take birds. Should the large predatory birds hide their hunger from the small birds? It isn't their fault that they were made to eat flesh. Why should they be punished and taught to hide for it?

[As bad as it sounds, she's glad to see that hint of sorrow. It means there's hope for him yet.]

I see better than you might assume.

[She considers sharing, but perhaps telling him of her own tale, so early into knowing him, might not be for the best. She's heard his point of view before too. In her dreams.]

I don't believe you should be made to hide. I find that horrible, and my heart goes out to you for what you've endured. But neither do I believe that freedom should be bought on the subjugation of others. It's not true freedom.

[Hope will take a long time to bloom for him. He will come to his senses one lonely night in prison at the ripe old age of one hundred and something. Better late than never?]

The subjugation will only last for so long. Equality will be achieved once Magic and the use of it is recognized and respected. What is that saying? Spare the rod, spoil the child?

[Every little push helps, yes?]

Equality can't be achieved when you wish to make yourself unequal.

[It does. He is a stubborn fool that is doomed to misery.]

But, as I said, we are naturally unequal. I only mean to emphasize the point.

You are dissimilar. It is your circumstances that are unequal.

Precisely. I'm glad you understand.

Circumstances dictate how one lives their life.

[Should she mention that, in fact, he just agreed with her, and not the other way around? Probably. But then maybe she should save that fact for later.]

Circumstances do not create narrow paths. There are always choices.

If you are imprisoned or hunted, the choices are few.
