Birthday Shot! [Forward dated to 14th August]
[text]
So here it is. Another day, another year. I don't exactly know what there is to celebrate, but I'll be at the Hangar Queen if anyone wants to join me.
And no one ask me to fill out another survey ever again.
*Well, guess who no longer fits in the 18-25 age bracket? Happy 26th birthday, Faye*
P.S Currently taking recommendations of where to buy the best chocolate birthday cake.
[Action - Hangar Queen]
Despite the fact that she has become so old, or maybe because of it, Faye has put quite some effort into her appearance tonight. If you can't wear an impeccably fitting and flattering little black dress on your birthday, when can you?
Faye sits at a booth with a bottle of fizz in a bucket, and just one glass. Sitting at a booth is fairly optimistic, considering she's pretty sure she doesn't have many friends, but maybe someone will stop by. Besides, there might be someone in the bar who doesn't know it's her birthday but who might want to sit with her anyway. For now, she's just a girl, sitting on her own, all dressed up and drinking a bottle of prosecco on her own. Nothing sad about that!

Is that right? Do you like spas?
[Text]
Spas are wonderful places. Wanna get massage with me Teddy??
Re: [Text]
Then you're in luck.
[Privately, an email is sent containing a QR code for a free night at the spa! Thanks, newspaper quizzes.]
Happy birthday.

Happy birthday, doll. Don't get too sloshed without me, I still gotta give you your gift.
text;
Though if I do get drunk, it's only because you're not here to share the alcohol with...! But I'm an old lady now so I can be careful.
A gift?! That's exciting! (So long as it isn't a lap dance that is...)
text;
I'd love to join ya, but I can't just chuck this dumb paperwork in the bin. At the very least I'll just make sure whatever ya get is on the house.
And well. It could be a lap dance if that was something you actually wanted, but no. I got something else you might appreciate.
text;
Hey, don't worry about - you've gotta do your duties. *And she totally won't even mention to him later if no one she knows actually turns up* But thank you. That's sweet. And maybe silly, if I end up on the tequilas. *Spoilers - that will probably happen*
Oh you do, huh? And when do I get this mystery gift?
text;
Yeeeah I know, but it doesn't make me feel any less of a jerk. I'll make up for it later.
You'll get it when ya get back. Aaassuming you aren't plastered. It's prolly something I shouldn't hand over if you had a few too many.
In which case it'll be tomorrow. That and plenty of water for the hangover.
[Because yeah. He probably shouldn't hand over a potentially very dangerous weapon to someone who's beyond buzzed. He's reckless, but he doesn't want to get shot at. Again.]
text;
The gift that is, not the water.
*But she will be needing that. And food*
action;
But his eye seems to catch that lone woman in the booth and perks his curiosity. So, he wanders over, a faint amused look on his face.]
One glass? I hope you're not putting away that bottle by yourself.
[Not that he's judging, but. That's a lot of alcohol for one person.]
action;
Well, I was going to share it with all my friends but...
*She gestures to all that empty space around her*
action;
That won't do. Perhaps I can help remedy that. Or at the very least, until your expected company arrives.
[And it won't hurt for him to get to know someone while he's here. Maybe it'll make him feel a little less out of place. He offers his hand, having learned that hand shakes seem to be a common introductory practice in this world.]
My name is Leo.
no subject
Hi Leo. I'm Faye.
*She smiles again and gestures to the seating around her at the booth*
Grab a drink and come sit. Or get a glass and we'll have some fizz together.
no subject
[Given the level of class he tries to show, that probably makes him even more out of place. Not that the clientele of Hangar Queen were of a questionable sort, but any bar is bound to have its seedy characters every now and then.
He happens to catch a passing staff member and simply asks for a glass, taking a seat near Faye.]
What you're having is most likely the safer option. This is the first time I've been in a place like this, and correct me if I'm wrong, but did I see fire in someone's glass at the bar?
[He has no idea Afterburner is a thing. Why are people drinking fire. Why, Faye.]
Don't worry, I'll be sure to pay for my share.
no subject
*The idea of someone being in a bar for the first time was very amusing. After all, he's not overly young! She laughs at his comment about fire and nods as she fills his glass*
You did. Adds a bit of excitement, no? A nice way to impress a lady too, maybe. But don't you worry about paying, this is all paid for already.
*Not by her, but he didn't need to know that. She takes another sip and scoots a bit closer to him*
So, what brings you to a place like this?
*It's not even a line. Not really*
[Action]
Well sweetheart! Learn somethin' new every day. Havin' a good time?
[Action]
Thank you! Yeah, me and my bottle of fizz are having a great time together.
[Action]
[Whenever Faye gets around to opening her gift, she'll find a gold chain with a gun pendant on it. Namur wasn't sure what kind of gun she prefers, but he figured it'd be alright so long as the rock was real.]
Got any other plans for the night or y' jus' gonna hang with ol' fizz?
[Action]
*She grins at him, a grin maybe helped by the alcohol she'd had to drink. Faye opens her gift, making happy noises as she takes the pendant from the box*
Wow, Namur. This is lovely. No, my plans are just to drink and grow old disgracefully.
*Then she turns in the booth and nestles back to him, handing over the necklace for him to put it on for her*
[Action]
[He's not very practiced and his sense of touch isn't the most delicate, so it takes him a couple of tries before he can get the tiny clasp open, and threading the metal bit back into the clasp takes a bit longer than maybe it should have, but in the end, there is success! Namur does take advantage of the opportunity to run his hands through her hair, though. He has to get it out from under the necklace, after all.]
But y' got a long way t' go 'fore that happens. All yer shit still works right. 'Sides, age's jus' a number, huh? 'M datin' an eighty-year old, an' she's bangin' a dude that's like two hunnerd or some shit. An' I took Koishi out for her sweet four hunnerd sixteen last year, so. C'mon Sweetheart! Yer jus' in a dry spell. But rain always comes t' them that sticks 'round, catch me?
[Action]
*Yeah, getting anyone to do a necklace can be tricky, so it was probably a bit cruel for her to as Namur to do it, but she liked the attention. She shivers a little when his hands move through her hair and she giggles quietly*
Okay. But wait.
*Faye shifts again so that she is facing him again, shaking her head*
I bet she doesn't look eighty. I bet he doesn't look two hundred. If I looked eighty I'd be wrinkly and saggy, and if I were two hundred I'd be dead. So it matters to me. I'm only human, remember?
