[Action --> Anonymous Voice]

[Kurogiri's portals were a familiar sensation, familiar enough that this instantly felt wrong. All For One had sent the League away, but this was wrong. Very wrong. As he opened his eyes, he instantly started to formulate a plan. Before leaving the pod he removed the hand covering his face, and went over every object that was in the pod with him. Slowly he opened the pod and left it, the prosthetic hand left behind. He only paid cursory attention to the recording for now. First he made his way to a clothing store and bought a hoodie, only then returning for the hand he'd left in his pod. With it securely hidden in the hoodie's pocket he made hes way onto the streets. Of course, a hero could've spotted him and be tailing him or calling for backup, and so he needed a distraction. As he rounded a corner, he dragged his hand along the corner of a building, a small gesture that nobody should notice unless they were specifically looking for it. As he walked away, he could hear the wall crumbling behind him and the chaos that ensued. It was the perfect distraction for him to vanish into the crowd.]

[It had been several hours since arriving here and Shigaraki had set about learning everything he could about his surroundings, only to find this world was not unlike his own, and that just... pissed him off. One voice modulator app later and he had a question to pose to the network at large.]

I'm new here, so I apologize if I speak from ignorance, but these so-called Guardians seem a lot like people from my world. Government subsidized bruisers paid to enforce their view of morality. So I have a question. Why are we NPC's in their game?

Guardian is an elected position. They're voted in by the people because they presented themselves as someone who would be capable and willing to protect the general population. There's a new election every six months, so if a Guardian isn't doing a good job, a new one can be voted in.

What are NPCs?

*Faye sees no need to be anonymous, so she isn't*

Like you said, you're new here. I'd give the guardians a bit of a chance - they aren't anything like the assholes running the place back home. And if they were, then I guess they'd get booted.

They're only 'running the show' cause they were voted. Sure, because they're popular, but they're popular because they're not total assholes the whole time. If you find you don't like it, campaign to be elected next time.

But seriously. Go get yourself a drink. You sound like you could use one.

Electing people democratically means we're getting a say in who's in charge. Having people figure things out on their own sounds like a good idea in practice, but we're all from different worlds. What happens when two people have a major disagreement with each other, if there's no law? Might makes right?

Like I said... you're new here. There's no a whole load of that going around. I mean, it's fair play to ask that people aren't pricks to each other.

*Good boy. That's how it's done*

Yeah, but you want people to listen to you, don't you? So you should answer questions and explain things so people can understand you.

Unsightly? What kinds of traits are people born with that makes society label them that way?

Is that so...?

*Faye just mulls that over for a moment - she knows at least one person who calls himself a hero after all. While she thinks about this, there's the sound of her lighting up a cigarette and taking a draw*

You weren't on the right side of the law at home, huh?

[One of those.... Deep sigh.]

Guardians are voted from everyone here, and anyone can run for position. Depending who is elected, their job is ensure peace within their selected city, Even though the system is very irrational on their selections and management, it's the closest thing we got, for now.

We need someone to represent a city and take responsibility to right the wrong doings and ensure the laws are followed and keep the peace. This is the most rational approach to go with.

And even if we could change how to elect and what we feel is more suited to campaign, we can't. Once approved by who-knows-what, it's their floor to represent themselves to get our votes. That's all.

As opposed to what, exactly?

Your own rules? Tyranny? Anarchy?

Hello, stranger! I don't think we've met before~! I'm Kuroneko Satou, a Deputy in Attleton and Detective in Everglade. Nice to meet you!

Guardians are elected by those who live in their cities, so the rules they choose to uphold are meant to reflect the morality of the majority. That said, I understand that the prospect can be pretty scary to consider. Which is why I think it's important to have citizens like you keeping us in check!

If you have any concerns, I would be happy to hear them and try to bring them up on your behalf.
