After hearing a bit about Torchwood from the kelpie and having been there - Newt liked the idea of the restaurant giving creatures like a kelpie an alternate choice to eating others like Newt. Taking Albus and Tina with him, and the briefcase and Bowtruckle sticking out of his shirt coat pocket.

"Excuse me. Who's in charge here?"

[Nor is Trunks surprised by it of Rose. Not knowing her now. It was also how the Resistance back home had operated, by necessity after all. Gather people, protect them, then see if they wanted to be useful/helped out more.

Give it time, and you might. I know she's looking to satisfy a broad broad audience.

[At least it wasn't an uncommon opinion it seems. Nikola frowns faintly at the idea of being dragged into taste testing some of their bosses idea's for the restaurants.]

If she tries, she'll be rather disappointed in my feedback. I'm human and hardly the one the restaurant has been catered to.

She might not, too. Honestly, I don't think she'd mind a human opinion even if it's not who the restaurant is catering to. I think she just wants everyone to be happy, and if she can make that happen, that suits her.

[Entirely true, and so far Trunks had no reason to assume the other was human or not. Nor did it matter to him, unless the other became a threat.]

Rose is kind of like a big giant puppy, who wants everyone to be her friend, and ropes everyone into their shenanigans.

[Nikola had every intention to simply fly under the radar and simply enjoy life. He was no more a threat than a fly at this point in time unless someone really tested his rather hard to break patience.]

So I've noticed. I'm still not a hundred percent sure how I got this job. But, at least it pays for a better place to live than the starting accommodations.

I'm not entirely sure how I got the job either, but I'm not complaining. Rose is a good person, and Torchwood is the kind of place that wants to help people, so I definitely don't mind working here. I did get lucky about housing, as I had family here already who Mai and I could stay with.

I suppose you have a point. As long as we're actually helping people, there's no reason to question too hard how we landed the jobs we have.

[Though he had to be a tag bit jealous about the other's luck in housing.]

That's lucky indeed. As far as I can tell, I am the only one from my world here.

I'm not sure if you'd call it luck, considering we've all still been, essentially, kidnapped. I'm more worried about any extra stress on Mom, but fortunately we all seem to be pitching in.

Fair enough. I suppose not many people who are used to life one way would adjust so easily to being relocated as abruptly as we have.

[Admittedly, Nikola has been suffering a little bit of culture shock since his arrival considering just how vastly different this world was from his own.

But, he's been coping as best as he can.]

Then again, to some it may be a blessing. I would guess it really depends on our various worlds.

The variety of worlds is kind of impressive.

Has it been a hard transition for you, adjusting here?

[Nikola was quiet a moment, just sipping his coffee before nodding slightly.]

It's been quite the adjustment. Where my world is advanced in some ways, technology is not one of them. So I suppose, it's been a little bit of a culture shock.

However, this place makes up for what my world lacks with luxuries I could have never imagined before and I'm grateful to get to experience.

Well, there are definitely a bunch of us who are slightly more used to sudden things like this, who are willing to help. Although if it's any comfort, it's still an adjustment even if you're used to dimension hopping.

That is a bit of a comfort admittedly.

Though, now I have to ask if you've 'hopped dimensions' before like this?
