What: It's a hot day in August okay! And whenever it gets too hot, Gray tends to strip more than necessary just to try and cool down. Of course, it's not fully intentional, and he doesn't mean to do this in front of women especially.

[Anyone who knew Gray, knew that when the temperatures were too high, he tended to shed clothing to compensate for the heat. Being an Ice Mage meant that he developed a high tolerance for the cold, but the same couldn't be said about the opposite.

This heat was absolutely dreadful, and if not for the wonderful snow cone stand not far off where he spent to get a nice cool down, it would be even worse. The stark naked ice mage practically bathed in the heat with the coned ice, sweating more than normal. How unfortunate that the playground for children was not far off from iron benches which Gray chose to occupy.

Think of the children? Certainly not!]

{ Zeref may not spend a whole lot of time around other people anymore, but he understood something as simple as common decency. And a man wandering around full birthday suit definitely struck him as indecent. But for the sake of not embarrassing either of them, he was going to turn and leave...

[He wouldn't go that far. Gray knew what common decency was too, he just didn't have the capability of maintaining it since his training with Ul. Lyon didn't share his same problems, it was just a his thing.]

[Why rush? He's hasn't seen Zeref in some time, they might not have been friends, but they weren't strangers either.]

{ Always the perfect excuse for why he doesn't want to be social, or be around people, clothing or no clothing. The only person that excuse doesn't work on consistently is Mavis, and that could only be because she's immune to his magic, by virtue of already being dead. After all, you can't die twice. Usually, anyway. }

Fairy Tail doesn't know? { Granted, it was Erza that was keeping tabs on him, and Mavis seems to trust him an awful lot, but still. Zeref does his best to avoid looking too much at Gray. Apparently, Gray sees nothing wrong with being naked. Zeref may have spent an ungodly amount of time away from society, but he still didn't think nudism was the in-thing quite yet in Fiore, if not all of Earth-Land. He could have been fooled, though, from what he's seen of Sorcerer Magazine. } I've been working on something for a... friend. A gift, of sorts.

[He did, but after all this time, nothing has happened. If it had, it wouldn't have escaped Fairy Tail's notice.]

A gift for a friend?

[Well hey, that was definitely news to him. Not that Gray thought Zeref couldn't make friends, but it did make it hard to socialize with him when he scurried to the dark corners of Genessia. Even if for the better of avoiding unnecessary death.]

[Gray will keep the exchange short, so Zeref didn't get too anxious lingering so deep in public.]

Yes. I'm not sure if it is needed here, but it is for someone who may need it to continue existing in this world.

{ Zeref keeps it as vague as possible. That's for Gray to find out on his own, whenever Silver thinks the time is right. Zeref already said he's going to stay out of that. It's not his business. }

It's a complicated process. Not everyone can write a book like that. It involves more than simply putting pen to paper.

I always am. These days, it seems like I am the only one who knows to do so while using this kind of magic. A lesson Hades learned far too late.

I guess I should say the same to you. I don't think social norms have changed that much over the centuries, hot weather or no.
