[After dealing with that bounty in Everglade, all Yang wanted was a long, hot shower. She wasn't sure she'd ever feel clean again after all that swamp mud, but here she is, fresh and refreshed, a damp towel slipping from her tangles of wet blonde hair. She waves two fingers casually at the camera.]

Yo! Looks like we've got a lot of newbies showing up. Welcome! I'm Yang, one of the deputy guardians in Nova City. You need anything, give me a call. I'm mostly in that city, but I do a lot of traveling when I'm not on patrol, so don't be shy and come say hello.

[She scrubs her hair with the towel again, using her metal right arm as she tips her head to the side.]

I'm also looking for some volunteers to help out at the carnival. There are a couple of charities I want to help out, so I'm setting up a kissing booth to raise funds. It's just going to be on the cheek, so don't get too hopeful.

[She winks.]

But hey, if you really want to volunteer and offer the usual, be my guest. Just keep it PG.

[There was something else she wanted to mention. What was it? ...Oh well, if it were important, she would have remembered.]

[ Since arriving here earlier, she's been doing her best not to be too alarmed, to "freak out" as one might put it, but she's found it hasn't actually been too hard to keep calm here. She kept bumping into and hearing such warm welcomes like from this sweet girl here.

[ She laughed a little herself, making herself comfortable. ] Kyrie... that's my name. As for where I'm from? Do you mean where I came from before waking up here?

[ There was a small pause before she continued. ] If so...I feel most here have never heard of it, but Fortuna.

Nice to meet you, Kyrie! And yeah, that's what I meant. Fortuna, huh?

[Sitting cross-legged on the couch, she rests her elbows on her knees as she leans forward.]

Yup, that's a new one to me. My world's called Remnant. So how are you doing? Adapting to everything okay? Had a chance to look around and explore yet?

Heh... You'll have to be a little more specific. I'll kiss a puppy, but I'm not about to lick anyone if that's what you mean.

Fairy Tail can set up a magic booth if you're interested. We did that for to a carnival in Attleton a few month ago and people seemed to like it.

[Bedivere would like to introduce himself to someone who's both deputy guardian of a city and has a prosthetic arm, just like him. However, there's one question that has overridden his thoughts at the moment.]

...I'm sorry, did you say a "kissing booth?" I've...I've never heard of such a thing before.

[Which is probably because he's too lost in the world of knights and chivalry to have caught that. In his defense, though, he is a knight -- though he's not dressed like one at the moment, instead wearing a white cotton button-down shirt.]

[Oh, this must be one of the new girls! ...Then he speaks, and Yang quickly backtracks before she winds up saying something embarrassing. Not a girl, just pretty. She can dig it.]

Never? Huh. Well, now's your chance to try one out! Typically people pay a small fee, and one of the people in the booth will kiss them. I'm just doing cheek kisses, but someone else might be bolder if that's your preference.

[Based on his reaction? She doubts it. Might be fun to see how little it takes before she can get him to blush.]

[Yeah, that'll be a pass from him. A kiss on the cheek is all well and good, but any more than that feels wrong to him. He quickly shakes his head -- which also helps to calm him down a bit.]

On the cheek will be fine! I'm not interested in putting some other young lady in that position.

[Nothing but respect for the fairer sex from him. He takes a moment to clear his throat.]

Anyway, with that out of the way, I wanted to say it's nice to meet you. My name is Bedivere, and I am one of the new arrivals. I'm very glad a deputy guardian went out of her way to introduce herself to people like myself.

[He's regained his full composure at this point. When he introduces himself, he bows his head, and smiles when he finishes his statement.

Sorry, Yang. He's a little too good at keeping his composure to get embarrassed enough to blush that easily.]

[A full mask? It takes a few seconds for Yang to realize what she's dealing with, and to make sure, she waves her hand a little at the screen. It might seem rude if she's wrong. When she's sure, she smiles with a single nod to herself. Yup, like Fox.]

The really big duties are to keep everyone up to date on what's going on in the cities, if something dangerous or weird is affecting people here. The other is to try and deal with that kind of stuff and keep everyone safe.

[A pause.]

Buuuuut as for what consumes the most time? Paperwork.

[She chuckles.]

It's not all that bad, we just tend to drag our feet when it's time to actually do it, so it can pile up quick if we don't stay on top of things.

So, you're like law enforcement. Do you work for the local government, or are you independent?

Nice to meet you Yang--and glad to have a face to go with one of the deputies. Anything beyond the basics we should know? I've tried to do my research already on the various rules and regulations in each city, but with the recent elections and re-elections, making sure there are no new surprises is a good thing.

[Especially since trouble seems to follow his family around.]

I'm also curious about how one becomes a deputy guardian.

I guess that depends on your level of tech-savvy. Most of the stuff here is pretty simple and intuitive to use, even for people who've never even heard of a calculator. As for the city rules itself, the only big one that we have to keep reminding people about is for bounty hunters to pick up a license before doing work in Nova.

[She leans her metal arm against her knee, gesturing with her left hand.]

A previous guardian put that rule into effect after dealing with a lot of property damage inflicted by bounty hunters. This keeps people more accountable and restrained in how far they'll go to take down their quarry.

[Yang smiles and her other arm now rests on a knee too.]

Interested in the job, huh? Well...getting in isn't too tough if there's an opening. Just ask the guardian in charge what they've got available, and if there's a spot and you're capable, that's probably all you need.

Nova's only slightly more advanced than the tech I'm used to from home and grew up around. I also remember that rule about the license--I should come pick up literature on that just to have it. Not the kind of thing I think me or my family would do full time, but we definitely don't like trouble makers.

I'd probably want to prove myself a bit more before I try for a job even as a deputy, but I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind. I'm on good terms with Attleton's Guardian reasonably. It's also not too different from what I did back home; mostly in the protecting people and keeping people safe aspects.

[Bowing, and then back to the friendly smile.]

My name's Trunks Brief. We live in Nova, but I work part time at Torchwood, and the rest of my family work in various cities besides Nova.

You'll have to ask Azura about that one! But considering how strong a lot of people are around here, it'd have to be pretty sturdy.

[She's pretty sure one of her punches would make a strength tester explode.]

Me personally? I was good friends with the previous two co-guardians and they had an opening. Sounded like fun so I went for it! The hiring process is usually informal, but depends on the guardian in charge I guess.
