Make Way for the Lord of Spirits [Action]
[The pod could have picked a better week to open. As the strange metal contraption released its seals and the lid lifted, a cold wind swept in from the blizzard setting in during the night. Milla Maxwell was awoken. She's confused, she's hungry, and she's out of contact with The Four. How unfavourable.]
[Like the others, she finds the box, and reads over its contents carefully. How curious. Brought to a world she doesn't know for reasons undisclosed. There's no time to dwell however. Stepping out of the pod the young woman examines herself. No injuries. Strange, but that's good news. She can feel the presence of spirits, but The Four seem to be oddly vacant from whatever world she's found herself in. The presence of spirits assures her she's not on Elympios, but she's never heard of this "Genessia" in Rieze Maxia either...]
[Well, she has no choice. She must march forward and assess the situation. She trudges through the Bay's waters until she can find the shore, shielding her face from errant snow as it fell from the sky. It was cold without Efreet to warm her. Her stomach won't stop growling either, without Gnome providing her with the nutrients her body needs. How long had she been sleeping?]
[Is there an inn nearby? If she could get out of this cold and find something to eat... Then perhaps she can make sense of the device she had been given and the necklace around her neck.]
[Waking at night doesn't seem to work in her favour. One might catch her wandering the city as she attempts to find a public place where she could either eat or warm up. Preferably both.]

again, so she's on her way back home, even if she hates having to stay in at night when she spends daytime sleeping a lot of the time. And she'd been flying against the wind, which was hell and nigh impossible, having snow buffeting her face at high speed, which was more hell, before a strong gust of air slaps her down to land in a crumpled heap and send a pile of snow exploding, covering any who might be near her. Such as the new person she just landed ten feet to the side of. She pulls herself up with a pissed off growl, wiping herself off.] I hate this weather. stupid, lame- [Then she spots the person she covered. Oops.] Sorry.
no subject
I'm alright. There's no need to apologize. [Standing, she brushes herself off.] I don't suppose you could tell me where I am. I just awoke here.
no subject
[She gestures down the street as she says] If you're going to ask more questions, can we at least get inside? It sucks out here.
no subject
Certainly. It seems you know the lay of the land better than I, so lead the way.
no subject
She pushes the door shut, before grabbing an apple from the bowl, all red ones, and sticking a fang in it. She drains the colour before dropping it to one side for now.] Help yourself to food. There's more things in the fridge.
[And she can answer questions now that she's dry and warming up.]
no subject
...
Well... thank you for taking me in for the moment. [Milla's brushing her hair off - a big job, considering how much hair she has.] It's rather kind of you. I can only hope that others are as hospitable.
[Stepping into the apartment, Milla makes for the fridge since she was invited. Opening it up, she studies what's inside.] So... I suppose I should introduce myself. [Closing the fridge, she turns to the vampire.] I am Milla Maxwell. What is your name?
no subject
Marceline ignores the surprised look mostly, apart from giving it a slight grin and raised eyebrow. Go on, say something about it. But you're the only person apart from Ice King who's seen her do it - she'd like to keep the illusion there to people, because it means she can amuse herself if she needs to.] I'm Marceline. So I'm guessing you've just got here then?
no subject
Now... if you don't mind my asking, I simply must: did you just drink the pigment out of an apple?
no subject
There we go. She just knew it.] Yep. It's cool, right?
no subject
What manner of human are you?
no subject
no subject
... Very well, you have a point. [The last person she could remember flying all the time was Muzét, so...] Then are you a spirit? Not human, of course, but humanoid.
no subject
I'm Marceline, the vampire queen. [...Ta da? It feels like a ta da moment. A little bit.]
no subject
[She subdues her surprise and goes back to get an apple of her own.] Though I suppose you don't follow the conventional image put forth by such literature. This world will never cease to amaze me. [She takes a bite of the apple and looks around Marceline's quaint little apartment.] And now you live here.
no subject
Yep, now I live here. And you do too by the looks of things.
no subject
Yes it appears I do. Hm... I suppose as long as I am here, I should get a handle on life in this place. [Things like how people live, what dangers the world poses, and just what she might be able to do to get home. But who could tell her what this place is all about? Marceline doesn't seem at all very useful in that regard.]
I thank you for your hospitality. I assure you I won't burden you very long.
no subject
Life here is pretty much what it says in the leaflet. Home, lame job to pay for home, magic amulet so you can go places. It doesn't say anything about the totally sweet hunting you can get done, but I guess that puts off people who have no sense of fun.
no subject
Hunting you say? So there are dangers about, not unlike my world... Monsters? [She's genuinely curious, but there is a glint in her eye. Battling monsters wasn't something she'd quickly get used to no longer being able to do, that's for sure.]

no subject
Hmm, but they way you talk you make it sound as if you are a guardian's assistant. Is that right? What is a guardian, exactly?

Assuming a Library Visit!
[This world's understanding of alchemy is quite different from her own, but to her surprise, there do seem to be a few volumes written that are familiar. It's best to know what resources are available to her, should she find someone with the talent to pursue the art and the potential to make a Philosopher's Stone.]
[She turns her head at the sound of the doors opening. Who would visit a library in such a storm?]
Are you a great reader? Or did you just arrive, I wonder?
Re: Assuming a Library Visit!
[Milla regarded the woman with some curiosity before answering.] I am an avid reader, yes, but that is not why I came here. Your second question is more on the mark - I just awoke here.
no subject
I see. "Any shelter in a storm."
[Finding the book she peruses through is garbage, she puts it back on the shelf and picks up her lantern.]
The weather is expected to clear tomorrow, though I can't say it will be any better.
no subject
That's good to know.
[A side-long glance towards the empty stacks lined with books, and Milla pondered.]
... I suppose then I'll need to find some way to get by.
no subject
[She sits down at a desk, setting her lantern aside.]
What talents does one such as yourself possess?
no subject
[Approaching the desk, Milla rested a hand on it, leaning. She's not one for idle chatter, but perhaps it would be beneficial to get to know at least some of Genessia's residents.] ... And what of you?
no subject
[She's certainly more personable than Gluttony, and her natural charms seem to inspire loyalty in men. She regards Milla with curiosity, then opens the book to one of the alchemical arrays and nudges it closer to the woman.]
Do you have any talent crafting something like this?
no subject
She'd never seen symbols or sciences that were anything like this back on Reize Maxia!]
Um... [She clears her throat.] While these symbols vaguely resemble the magic circles that appear when channelling spirits, I'm afraid I cannot make any sense of them.
[She takes a closer look at the book.] This sounds almost like a recipe... Though not for any food I think I'd be willing to eat.
no subject
[A pity, but she wasn't exactly banking on finding an alchemist so coincidentally. She closes the book.]
Channeling spirits, however, sounds interesting. How is such a thing done?
no subject
[Told by a talking doll.]
[She ponders her words.] It comes rather easy to me, so that must be true. [Also, she's kinda Maxwell, so spirits are a cake-walk.]
no subject
What does a channeled spirit do?
no subject
It's a give-and-take relationship between humans and spirits. The spells cast by channeling spirits can be used for many things, though I specialize in combat channeling.
no subject
I assume you are a warrior, then?

[Lust rises to her feet, taking the book with her.]
Well, you may rest assured that such struggles are unlikely to take place within the city. I take it you don't seem to enjoy fighting, if the look on your face is any indication.
no subject
No. Who doesn't want a world where fighting would be unnecessary?
no subject
[She shoots a coy little glance at Milla. Ho ho, men bashing is hilarious!]
But those with a tender heart would certainly be against such things.
no subject
[Bashing men is so funny! Except when Milla goes and starts being boring about it. To Lust's last comment, Milla simply nods. She's not going to say she has a tender heart - that's a judgement for others to make.]
I've said so much about myself, I feel you have me at a disadvantage.
no subject
I take it you are not human yourself?
no subject
Technically.
no subject
[She gives a small 'hm' of amusement.]
How interesting. Then just what are you?
no subject
no subject
[Flattery, or mockery? With Lust, it could be either one, or both, or none.]
I believe I've finished with my research for the night. I expect the weather may be more to your liking come midnight, if you wish to wait here before traversing elsewhere.
no subject
... Very well then. [She's going to have to concede here. This woman hasn't told her a thing about who she is. All Milla knows is that she's interested in alchemy - and her curiosity towards whether or not Milla herself knew anything about it was... worth noting.] I believe I will rest here until the weather clears.
