Today is the Grand Opening of the Snuggly Duckling~ Yay~

[The first thing anyone sees is Rapunzel one arm in the air as she cheered her little heart out. She was so happy with what she had been doing for the past few weeks. She had managed to get everything ready within that time including all the painting that she did by herself.]

I have my menu sorted and over time I am slowly going to introduce various drinks, but right now it's mostly basic drinks like teas, coffees and juice. But I am planning on figuring more as I go so keep an eye out.

[She had lowered her arm in that time, making her way over to the backroom or at least her most important room. As she stepped inside the room seemed bright and cheerful as there were paintings everywhere, if one were to look closely they were painting of various people she knew and had met during her time here.]

While I have that business the money that it makes will be going into this venture. My Light Up a Dream project. I'm planning on helping those who cannot normally achieve their dreams and helping them. [She smiled brightly.]

it may not be as wonderful as various other business ventures, but seeing the face of someone whose achieved something they could never have dreams possible... Then to me, it was worth it. [She was carrying the device as she went and sat down in the chair by her new desk.]

Though with all of this I still have one question... Can anyone tell me why people like to drink alcohol? I am admittedly a bit curious and was thinking about learning to make some drinks for the Snuggly Duckling and just wanted to learn more

Congrats, Rapunzel. It's already looking amazing and the paintings are very pretty.

Most people drink alcohol because they like the taste, to forget their problems or because it gives them courage to do things. Usually really idiotic ones.

That's a lot of reasons people drink. I mean forgetting problems doesn't really help when you think about it though because the problems are still going to be there. Like the two who were drinking on the feed. It made no sense.

It's the same reasons why people has other vices, like eating more than they should or being addicted to intercourse. Some just want to ignore their problems for a while.

Oh, you are talking about Leanne? I think she was upset.

I still don't get it though. Why do you want to ignore something that you could just handle and get it over and done with?

No. It was two guys I was talking about.

Serious problems aren't always easy to handle. You don't like talking about your mother, right? Because things that happened between you two? It's like that or worst for others. So it's easier to not talk or thinks about certain things.

Then I don't know them.

[ Gren lifts a glass of vodka to his lips, giving it a pensive little sip. ]

It waterlogs my head. If everything is sloshing around in a deluge it's not as easy for me to focus. As a result the things that once bothered me... don't bother me as much.

[ He smiles and clinks his glass against his phone. Cheers. ]

I see a lot of people who drink problems away. It seems to be a big reason for drinking.

[She really doesn't get why drinking is apparently the answer to ignore a problem that really one should solve.]

No matter how many times it's explained, I still don't get it.

I do, but I went out into the world to figure it out by camping and in the wilderness.

[ Now Gren's the one who doesn't understand. He shrugs. ]

I've only just opened it. So it's not gone anywhere right now.

But how do you intend to help people achieve their dreams? Fundraising?

Alcohol makes you relax and feel easy. You just feel less stressed, less upset, less whatever. Plus it makes it easier to talk to people, strike up a conversation, dance like nobody's watchin', all that good stuff.

Oh. I must admit you put it in a really good way. A couple people brought up the fact people use it to drink away problems rather than facing them.

But I did enjoy you bring up the positive stuff.

I mean, admittedly, people do it for that, too. But the way I look at it, sometimes you need a little time to not deal with your shit, and it can help with that, even if you deal with all of it later.

Plus, honestly, most of the time you're drinking, you're doing it with friends and other people and having a good time.

I think... I'm trying to understand not wanting to face one's problems. But it's not really getting to me quite yet.

So it's a way to have a good time with friends. I wonder if I should try sometimes.

Probably just means you're either good at facing yours or yours haven't gotten to you yet.

You could give it a shot, go out with some people you trust and like having a good time. Maybe get a couple mimosas or something easy and just have a fun brunch or something. [He guesses, at least. He doesn't know what women who aren't used to alcohol should try first, but brunch sounds safe to him.]

Favorite kind of tea? What a hard question! I can't think of a single tea that I don't love! it's sort of in my blood.
