[The feed turns on to a black unicorn looking down at the phone, and with how she's pulling away, it's obvious that she's used her horn to work the damnable device. This whole technology thing was so strange to her, but at least she was attempting learn, right?]

Um....is this thing working? I hope it is.

Hello, I'm Lily.

[She pulls away further, giving a better view of her equine face with bright blue eyes and her long silver horn. Her long black mane drapes from her neck, a long forelock to match hanging down in front of her face. She snorts, and looks about, not sure if this was actually working, but willing to give it a try, and seems to gain some of her confidence as she goes.]

This tool is such a strange device isn't it? But that's not quite what I came on to ask about. You see, I don't have much experience being.....of the equine variety and I was wondering if anyone could help me learn somehow? Or at least explain to me how to not be at the bottom of a herd. Yes, I know, a very human thought probably, but human is unfortunately what I know. I don't know how to be another way. So, can anyone help? Even more is what does a unicorn do? What's our purpose, and yes I know there are legends out there, but they're all different. I guess....what's everyone else's knowledge of my kind is what I'm asking? I'm sure everyone knows something different and maybe those stories could help me figure it out somehow.

I certainly can't explain anything about your bottom, if that's as proud a thing as it seems. Perhaps that's where destiny leads.

That said, I do know a thing or two about unicorns, though black ones are unusual. Are you a specific species in particular? Do you remember your parents or something similar at all?

Unicorns are magical creatures, dipshit. They heal, they protect all the lovey dovey innocent things and they can do other weird things as well.

They're rare even in my world and I've never met one before here so, might want to find the other resident unicorn and ask her.

I told you, I didn't grow up as anything equine. Perhaps the clues were there in regards to what I was at times, but I still never would have guessed unicorn. They are considered myth and legend where I am from as well.....until me it seems.

I can help. (Addressing the questions seems the best way to begin.) We protect the land and its creatures wherever we live. I resided in a forest and humans found it a difficult place to hunt. My magic made the deer, the foxes, the birds and all other animals nearly invisible to the eyes of humans.

We do as our nature dictates. I have never questioned why. (She lifts a cherry to her lips, taking a bite.) Why do birds sing? Why do flowers grow? We are as we are meant to be.

I don't know much about being a unicorn, but as for a purpose... I'd have two suggestions. Visit the forests of Fayren and look for a lovely unicorn called "Amalthea," if she feels like being found. Or, just make up your own purpose.

I have been doing well. I've merely been trying to figure all this out. It seems I have much to catch up on. As for the device, I'm certainly trying, but such things are not in my world and so it's taking time to learn. It's especially hard without hands.

No, I am. I just....I grew up thinking I was human. It's a bit complicated so I'm trying to get a handle on learning about what I am and what I can do.

I believe anyone's purpose is what one wants to make of it. Stories about what you may be doesn't mean that is you as a person. In fact, sometimes stories of human perception can be entirely wrong.

I'm well aware. Where I'm from, people believe that if they grind up a unicorns horn and consume that, that it will give them immortality. The same for a dragon's heart. Both of which are entirely false however.

I didn't really have a herd before coming here, but it was mostly something someone else said that made me think about it. I grew up human so I'm not so familiar with equine hierarchy.

As for what unicorns do, I think that depends on the unicorn, don't you? You didn't stop having free will or suddenly become something you weren't when you changed. What do you want to do?
