II - The Search

For everyone still awake (or already awake) at 3 AM in the morning, they will see the murky lake in Everglade glowing eerily. There was nothing but silence, before a loud roar disturbs the surrounding forest. From the lake rose a massive serpent, adorned by gigantic wings. The entirety of its body was made of thick silvery scales.

It was the Leviathan. The very creature locked by Heaven in the bowels of earth. The creature who fed on the sins of humanity and grew from it. For those people who were walking along the lake at the time, they will notice a shady figure. Nothing looks familiar - except for four massive wings attached to the lone figure.

Moments later, Leviathan circled around Genessia and the four cities. No one will see him, because he speeds through the skies easily. However, people will hear his dark and haunting voice, repeating the same words as he hovered over everything.

"Darkness is only the beginning"

"Nightmares await"

"Seven Satans"

"Seven Generals"

"Wrath"

"Lust"

"Gluttony"

"Sloth"

"Greed"

"Pride"

"Envy"

"Me lord wants blood"

"Me lord wants DEATH"

[WRATH]

When Bankotsu awakens the following day, he will notice a dead body propped beside one of the walls of his apartment room. The body's been mutilated and all its blood has been taken. On the wall was a message written in blood.

You crave for Death.

You crave for a Fight.

You crave for Power.

Your Wrath knows no Bounds.

Call on me Master and he will welcome you with open arms.

Upon reading the writing on the wall, Bankotsu will feel a rush of power coming from one hand. On that hand, he will notice an ornate ruby ring, with four wings carved on the metal. Enough clues for him to know who was summoning him.

[Well that was certainly an interesting way to wake up in the morning. The mercenary lifted himself out of bed, clad only in battle worn jeans. He glances up and begins to read the writing on the wall, and found it to be unusually easy. Sometimes he would even have a hard time understanding writing from his own origin and time, but this... was phrased perfectly so that he could understand every single word.]

....Call on me Master and he will welcome you with open arms.

[He reads the last sentence out load, and just as he finishes he feels something happening to his right hand. The black haired teen lifts it, eyes widening with curious wonder. Oh he recognized this feeling alright, it was similar to how it felt every time he entered a jewel shard into his body. But this was no shard, and it was a lot more potent. Suddenly the ruby ring takes shape and he brings it close to his eyes to see it better.]

...

[And then a slow devilish grin spreads over his face as suddenly he grips the hand tightly, nails digging into his palm but it goes unnoticed in the wake of his latest discovery.]

Heh, usually I prefer to meet my clients face to face but I'm liking this arrangement so far.

[The newly decorated hand drops to his side as he looks to the body again. He steps up to it, unbraided black hair trailing across the floor, and grabs the corpse by the chin, lifting its head as if to see if he could recognize the poor sucker.]

You certainly know how to add flair to everything you do, Lucifer.

[Lucifer has been monitoring Bankotsu for a while now. He was thoroughly satisfied by the man's lust for cruelty. And if he played his cards right, they might gain something from knowing each other. He would be Lucifer's first satan.

When Bankotsu calls out his name, Bankotsu will realize that his apartment is slowly disappearing. His surroundings growing darker until the only light that guides him is the light emitted by the ruby ring. Slowly it shines more and more, and Bankotsu will find himself in what seems to be an underground dungeon. It was the castle underneath the L mansion.

However, the light of the ring is not enough to light the entire dungeon. But Bankotsu will suddenly realize that he has the ability to see in the dark. He can see everything. Every prison, every shackle and every torture device. In front of him is a large door. He won't hear anything, but it will seem like someone is beckoning him to move past the door, where he will see Lucifer sitting on his throne.]

A foreboding aura that felt like the airs of Makai. A creature who slithered in the skies. He could see it all. The Jagaan glowed brightly, hidden in the trees. So, this boring world was going to get interesting after all. His dragon hand flexed. There might be a fight worth his challenge after all.

Though, he could care less what damages were done to this city. He was on his own, and he was freed of work. He never considered himself a good guy t begin with. The half breed sneered, his red eyes glowed. So, he'll watch every move of this event, while seeing if it amused him.

[Walking around at night was a rather bad habit of his, but tonight he was glad he was- though he doubt he would have missed the aura penetrating the skies no matter where he was. His eyes narrowed- a golden glint crossing the colored hues before they vanish under the shadow of his bangs. His expression did not change much beyond a simple hardening of his frown. He had been on his way to find Hiei regardless....finding him was easy...if you knew where to look and also made a habit of keeping tabs on him. (that had been Genkais lesson to Kurama after the house of four dimensions) But it had taken Kurama a fair while to locate him. About five minutes past the feed, he comes up next to Hiei and just stares forward- not exactly saying anything at first which was obviously uncharacteristic. Finally he would just sigh shortly before smiling.] You seem to be in a better mood.

[ The half breed looked down, his hand flexed again as if the dragon was telling him something, only that it didn't, because he knew it didn't talk. He could feel it however.

Red eyes, shifted backwards as he noticed he friend, dark eyes sharply stared at the fox demon. That was true. Kurama was the only one that could find him from time to time. Except, he didn't need the demon to keep tabs on him. Hiei didn't work for Reikai, good morals didn't matter. At least, he was not out massacring random people. That was beneath him. ]

You felt it too, didn't you? The aura of something dark and foreboding piercing the skies...a serpent like thing.

[ The Jagan always knew. Unfortunately, he didn't get to find the perpetrator that called it. ]

[Kurama shrugged]

Hrm. [and he had a pretty good feeling he knew who was conjuring it, just off the chant in the sky, the words, and his only conversation with the man when he had hacked his and Ishtars conversation. Though there was no way to tell for sure...and that made him uneasy. He wondered if Yusuke and Kuwabara felt it as well.]

I suppose continuing to avoid this conflict is no longer an option....

[If Kurama ever felt his age- it would be now. Unlike his companion, he was not so eager to engage an enemy of this caliber.]

[ He didn't engage with the said person that Kurama had engaged with but it wasn't hard to narrow down the people capable of it. Of course, he's keeping it to himself until he can determine on hundred percent who it was. Certainly, the other two would have felt something sparking with power and darkness. ]

Heh, so you say. I want to see what he's capable of.

[ Since, he was done dealing and caring about the human population. Kurama wasn't like him, but Hiei sought to be stronger. Kurama was old and had powers that even Hiei hoped he would obtain one day. ]

Don't forget, I have no reason to play any heroic roles.

How could I possibly forget?

[Kurama said coyly, slightly amused by Hiei's enthusiasm. Sometimes their relationship was similar to that of a grandfather and his grandson....othertimes they really were the best of friends. At this point he couldn't say how he felt...sadly, Kurama was still reeling from the trauma of the last place they were kidnapped too and while he didn't like to admit it- he had been close to staying as yoko permanently. He still wasn't so sure that wasn't the best option, but his time at home made him consider the options more carefully.]

Good.

[ He retorted crossing his arms. His enthusiasm? Well he supposed it can be called that but Hiei would deny it. Ever since he got here, it was a bit boring and annoying. He also had his own shit of Facility trauma to get over. That and he's be adjusting to living without Yukina since he was fairly used to being in the same room with her all the time. In some ways, he did start to depend on her not as just someone he knew, but his family.

Not that he would tell Kurama, or even let the fox know that. He would be teased to no end. Hiei knew of his struggles, but he trusted the fox to overcome it on his own accord. Hiei, he never really cared. He had been pushed enough to do things he had done in the past. No change there. ]

Is that all you came to see me for, because that was pointless.

[Kurama just shrugged]

No. But I do confess that I almost forgot thanks to our friend in the not so friendly skies.

[He smirked at Hiei. If anything it was nice to know that Hiei was good company when he grew tired of their youthful compatriots.]

Here.

[He held out a small lunch bag full of a meat assortment he had picked up. While it had been for his plants- god knows why- those plans had been put on hold. So why not give it to the guy who probably didn't think to maintain a healthy diet. He would effectively ignore any protest to return the item.]

How is your arm?

[ There isn't much reaction from the half breed as he looked over at Kurama. ]

Heh, something like that.

[ He would admit he was amused by the fact that he caught sight of it. Was it suppose to be seen? It moved hastily. ]

[ He gives it a once over not touching it, but he could smell what was in it. Hiei when he needed to and he wasn't very honest about taking food from places he could pick it up from. He also still had some of the money that he did not spend. ]

Why are you giving me this?

[ He's not starving or anything okay? ]

It's fine. It was restless for a moment.

I thought you might like something that you didn't cook.

[He smirked then looked up towards the clouds again]

Will you be able to summon the dragon here?

I can feed myself, Kurama.

[ He scoffed at the comment. He didn't need Kurama to baby him around with food. He could secure it himself if he so pleases to. ]

That isn't a problem. The Dragon is restless.

[ A strong aura surrounded the dragon as he flexed his arm again. ]

I dont doubt your ability to provide sufficient nutrients for yourself. What I doubt is your actual execution of the matter.

[Kurama just shrugged]

He's probably hungry too. [He teased then his eyes flashed gold at another- slight power fluctuation in the sky.]

Just take it, god knows its better than those cardboard bars....

Heh, what is it you how I execute?

[ He snorted at the comment. He doesn't seem amused at all. The half breed just kept to himself as Kurama shrugged. ]

It wouldn't be surprising if it fed on humans here.

[ Food was food, to be honest he never really cared for taste. ]

Such trivial things don't matter to me.

[Kurama just shrugged]

Suit yourself. I'd better be going...I have a feeling the others will have noticed.

They're capable enough.

[ yeah yeah, he'll probably eat it anyway. ]

[Genessia. Seemingly boring upon first glance. Nothing note worthy. It did manage to revive him to his former self before that cursed vampire offed him.

However, his thoughts changed when experiencing such an ominous feeling.]

Darkness does loom here.

[A small grin.]

Raven might have been walking back to the apartment drunk. He only stayed at the bar this late sometimes. (Not really, but he would insist he only did this occasionally.)

On a more serious note, on his way back, even he could tell something was up by the heavy atmosphere. Whether it was related to the hospital event a few weeks back or not, was debatable.

"I don't like where this is goin'." He's certain Jade already knew about it. It was hard to surprise that man, and even Raven had a hard time telling truth from lie with him.

Looks like he'll have to be more on guard for the following weeks.

[When he hears that noise, feels a familiar sensation of excitement, Yusuke smirks. Oh this worth ruining his nap. Something was coming to this place he could fight? Perfect.

Lately, he had felt himself grow more violent, but only because of what had been going on for the past three years, what with the facility, the tower, and oblivion, or whatever one would call that being stuck in a dead world. He needed something to pummel for part of his life stolen, and a threat like this was just what he had in mind.

He wondered if anyone else heard it...Anyone near him would certainly hear his chuckling.]

[ Kuwabara snapped awake, his senses going crazy for a moment and adrenaline pumped through his blood. He woke up and walked out into the living room rubbing his face a moment and went into the living room. He moved to exit out into the balcony and stared out into the darkness of the sky.] fuck man..this shit again?

[ Hello Yusuke & Kuwabara, have someone standing right behind you two and a familiar aura. He's mighty amused with the situation at hand while Kuwabara walked into the living room. ]

A winged serpent like creature is what it is. You all certainly feel it.

[Yusuke nods, smirking. He was really only focused on the omen.]

I've been dying for something like this. Sounds perfect to fight, don't you think guys?

[Kuwabara looked at Yuusuke a moment with a long sigh and then over at Hiei. ] I guess a good fight is in order saving the world from strange shit is kind of what we do.

[While he wasn't a chain smoker like his sis......he felt like he needed one right about now. He moved to knack his knuckles. ] been awhile since I fought some real -bad guys-.

Heh, so we're going to take this winged beast?

[ A sneer on Hiei's side as yusuke spoke up about dying to start a fight while turning to Kuwabara as he heard what the idiot had to say. ]

You and your heroics again but it might provide some entertainment for this boring and ridiculous world.

[ He replied now smirking. For once, Kuwabara had the right idea. ]

Good deeds are good and all, but I just wanna let out some good aggression. Haven't had a good sparring partner since the facility.

[Something sure was different with Yusuke...]

So when we gonna leave? Wanna fill in Kurama too to join the fun?

No need, your excited expressions tell me everything I could possibly need to know.

Ach-KURAMA?! [He nearly jumped out of his skin.]....DAMNIT! [he grabbed his heart a moment and exhaled.]

[he made a soft ch' sound before rubbing the back of his neck.] So we are all in agreement? Time to make some dragon roll sushi?

Heh, so the winged beast is our target?

[ He almost snorted, because the idea almost sounds amusing. He's all ready to take something down if it proved to be challenge, but if it was weak and pathetic, there was no use for this. Of course, Hiei was quick to act on violence, but he didn't fight weaklings. It was beneath him.

There's a brief sneer on his face when Kurama enters the screen and Kuwabara starts freaking out about this. He doesn't comment because he doesn't need to. ]

Your comments are getting stupider and stupider, idiot. You should start paying attention to your surroundings.

[Honestly Kurama didn't have a choice did he? But he couldn't lie to himself and say he wasn't the least bit excited to take on the demon in their sites. Still...the sheer level of power coming off this thing was not something to take lightly. Besides, Kurama wanted more information before being rushed into something- a luxury he didn't always get. He shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged.]

I believe we should bid our time a little longer, there is something beyond just this beast. I have a feeling I know who is behind it but I need more time to confirm this.
