🌙 The First Eclipse

WHO: Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto versus Fayren (Styxx, 17, Trunks & whomever else)
WHAT: Upon the heels of announcing his claim over Fayren, Tsukihito decides to crush all opposition by hosting a mock tournament. The rules are quite simple. If the challenges win, Fayren remains free. However, if they lose...
WHEN: The Evening of September 21st.
WHERE: The Coliseum

[It was evening when the moon turned dark. The skies went from clear to cloudy as if another storm was brewing over Fayren. When almost all of the shimmering stars within the night sky were smothered with shadow, a slither of light curled around the dark moon as the first lunar eclipse took place. As the silvery moon slowly revealed itself again, a bright beam of light crashes right into the center of the coliseum.]

Those foolish enough to challenge the Divine---

[Within that pillar of light stands the silhouette of a monster several feet tall with glowing crimson eyes.]

Step forward.

[As the bright light begins to fade, Tsukihito's fearsome form is revealed. Despite supposedly being a white fox, this celestial looks more wolfish in appearance with a strong maw and fangs that look like they could pierce steel. It's eyes shine like rubies and the odd red markings upon its fur shimmer with absurd brilliance. The monster's many tails sway erratically behind him as it crouches low upon all four.]

All those who challenge me will be met with death!

[Hear that Fayren? Either stand before him or take the knee. Tsuki--no, Tsukuyomi has made his declaration loud and clear.]

notes: takes place after this declaration.)

[The extent of Styxx's immortality was limited, but not here in Genessia. Only in the real world, and had it been his brother going up against the god instead, though the man had no concept of strategy, he still doubted this particular god would be able to hold his ground. Acheron was one scary son of a bitch when he wanted to be and that was the aura he normally showed. Styxx on the other hand might have been human, but he knew the tricks needed to go up against a god, and this one seemed to already have his underbelly showing a little. Too bad he hadn't been trained by Galen.

Styxx walked into the coliseum right on time, ready for the battle to come as he stood before the fox with his sword and red hoplan with a rising phoenix upon it, both he'd had made to suit his tastes right here in Genessia. Styxx was ready and armed to the teeth for this fight.]

Looks like the little foxy needs a lesson in being less of an asshole.

[Styxx was used to people being lethal, especially gods, which is why he watched the fox before him with a practiced intensity, watching his every move and figuring it out. As soon as Tsukuyomi pounced, Styxx dodged to the side, his sword sliding from below to be the last part of him to dodge the attack, but that had been for a purpose. If he was lucky, his blade would make contact and at least wound.]

[Again, Styxx dodged. He hadn't survived his battles with the gods for no reason, and he wasn't about to let this one kill him now. Sure, before he had had an army, but that didn't mean he didn't still have strategy and Galen's lessons.]

Is that all you got, furball? Pretty pathetic for someone claiming to be a god.

[No, it was strategy and prediction. Styxx was waiting for an opportunity and he knew better then to show his underbelly and get distracted during a fight. He wouldn't be an opponent to make such mistakes. Not to mention, he was patient. He could easily wait for an opportunity.]

I'm not impressed with your might. Keep coming hound dog! Your speed is nothing more then that of a puppy's.

[Styxx could feel something big coming, and he was depending on the fox's anger to make him get sloppy. Now was one of those times as Tsukuyomi made it obvious that something big was indeed coming even if Styxx didn't know what. His muscles tensed, ready to dodge again and as soon as he sees even the slightest change in the fox indicating he was about to attack, Styxx dove to the side, rolling and getting to his feet again in one fluid motion, careful with his sword and shield as he did so. Styxx's strategy at the moment was merely to observe and wait. He knew it was pissing off the god more, and when anyone got pissed off enough they lost their head. He could see the fox doing just that, getting so desperate to it him that he was making the smallest of mistakes. A sign here, a sign there for Styxx to make predictions on what to do. He needed to learn what the god was capable of before he dare go forward with an attack.]
