Alright, time for a round table discussion or some shit.

Over the last few weeks, things have been fairly calm around Attleton and I've been looking at ways to improve conditions both in Attleton and elsewhere, and I keep coming back to an idea I've had since the election just was busy to really put it out there.

I'm considering opening sanctioned and legal betting on fights that happen at the Attleton Colosseum. As a form of gambling, it'd obviously be regulated. Nobody under the age of 18 participating, for example, and I'd be keeping an eye on odds and payouts and making sure everything was fair and transparent. Likewise, I would be offering protection from the Guardian's office to any combatant that was approached or pressured into throwing a fight, and likewise prosecuting those who throw a fight for the purpose of rigging bets willingly.

I came to this idea because we've got a lot of people here with hair trigger tempers, super powers of some sort, just enjoy fighting, or a combination of the three, myself included. I figure if there's a legal way to get that sort of thing out of your system in a place where - should an accident or something happen - Genessia's normal death rules don't apply and people wake up fine a few minutes later, it would be best for everyone.

Last thing we need is a superpowered brawl in a busy intersection. However, before making anything official, I realize I'm the new kid on the block as far as Guardians go, so I figured I'd open the floor to anyone that may have a question or concern, and I'll do my best to answer things.

The closest thing I've ever had to a secretary also has me in debt for the forseeable future. Of course, I wouldn't mind changing that.

I wouldn't say I'm working hard, as much as I'm slowly losing my goddamn mind.

Most of the paperwork that comes over my desk is some inane shit like a flamingo too close to a property line, or a mysterious serial pooper. ...A dog, not a person. I don't even want to think about the hell it would be if someone started doing that...

*At that Faye just laughs and shakes her head - Attleton has always been a weird place as far as she was concerned*

Shit, well, at least people know they've got someone to sent their gossiping and bitching too.

There's a reason I have a garden gnome riding a flamingo outside my shop's gateway. Just because I know it pisses 'em off.

*Faye laughs at that - she can certainly picture some people really hating that*

Oh, come visit, I'm sure you'd love to take part in Attleton's official pastime: Heckling your neighbor's fashion and aesthetic senses.

Actually, that does sound pretty fun. Even by being there I'd be enough to start an argument - I'm not sure I'm Attleton aesthetic.

I'm sure as hell not Attleton aesthetic either, but who cares? Just be you and if people have a problem with it, that's on them.

Well, that is true. And I'm sure that all helps to wind them up and set gossiping. All part of Attleton's Guardian's job, huh? You have fun with that now...

The way I see it, if I give 'em something to talk about they're less likely to stir up trouble.
