It's time.

{ Guess who has been hit by the AU event? Zeref's eyes are red, surrounded by black circles. Only his face is shown, at the moment, but below his necklace, just about where his heart is, is a black symbol, consisting of two crossed hammers framed by black lines pointing downwards, almost like a heart. Zeref looked away from the camera for a bit, frowning, before turning back. }

We cannot wait any longer. I have chosen Tartarus' Third Master.

{ Private to Silver, Sayla, Marde Guille, and... the surprise Third Master }

{ Zeref moves the camera, enough to show off the surrounding area. Everglade. }

I have decided. It came down to two of you, and I feel that the successor I have chosen will know best how to deal with our most pressing obstacle. We will meet before nightfall. Make a good impression on our Third Master. { A beat. } She is not as forgiving as I am.

I gotta say it's about time. I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever stop that little act of yours.

[Kefka even throws Zeref's face on for a moment to pantomime the act.]

[ Aaand now there's a familiar face interjecting into this conversation. ]

Ooooh~? But that doesn't sound like Zeref at all. Are you sure you're not delusional, you stupid clown?

[He's just going to stare at the screen for a bit. Something weird is going on....]

[ She smiles, answering as if it's all a big joke- ] Hmmm.... a little chaos? Maybe the world?

[ she looks really excited for a moment, then- ]

Maybe I'll settle for your head.

[And he's back to being smug.]

[ Her reply is immediate. ] No. They haven't. Or else you would already be dead, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Until another god steps up to the challenge, there are none that can match my power. Lest of all some pint-sized brat that spouts threats in an attempt to hide her jealousy, poorly.

[ She laughs. It's not an evil laugh - in fact it sounds rather genuine. Kind of... normal-Mavis-like. ]

Oh, sorry. [ She doesn't sound sorry for laughing at him. ] It's just that your ego never fails to amuse me.

I've never even considered you to be in the same league as Zeref or myself.

[ Sometime after all that had been going on, he seems to have more less adjusted himself to this foreign land. A land full of disgusting humans that he wanted to kill. Hearing what Zeref was saying, made it amusing, because it was finally time to do something. ]

[ Ah, the new leader. He certainly hopes that she won't be disappointing. ]

None. Because you're just a pipsqueak. Zeref shows promise, which is the only reason I have shown any interest. That courtesy does not extend to you.

You think what you do because, unlike you, the two of us don't need to boast, or make flagrant our own displays of power.

Yes, he seems to be rather...calm. Marde Guille hopes the humans have not tainted him.

[ Not that he cares particularly. He would get rid of trash in this guild if he needed to, orders or not. At least, he's being subtle with Zeref. ]

He is like Mavis in that sense. He can hardly be called human, now. Much like myself. Humans are defined every bit by their mortality as they are by their nature.

At least, that is my opinion.

Zeref-sama may believe that but humans are humans. Perhaps that is a good deduction, however Marde Guille cannot easily agree. Of course, Zeref-sama has the right to say as Zeref-sama pleases.

And how do you see me? As you know... I am not Etherious.

You are no God. Not of this world. Just a clown with an over-inflated and unearned ego.

Your existence doesn't exactly scream human either, Zeref-sama. There is something about Zeref-sama that intrigues me.

After all I've done - and become - I can hardly call myself human, either. { Only, that was more of a philosophical statement than one of biology. } I suppose that answers my question.

It is a shame that First Master E.N.D. will not be present for this. He would have enjoyed the irony.

That is what makes Zeref-sama different.

[ He kept his eyes fixed on the screen. ]

I will reiterate what I said, though. Fairy Tail may be a threat, but they are not our largest threat, here. Anyone, or anything, powerful enough to summon myself, not to mention you and Sayla without your own Books, is of concern to me. Especially when we have not been given an adequate explanation as to why.

{ Even AU!Zeref has his priorities. }

I'll try to console him when his summoning is complete.

Yes, I'm aware, but Fairy Tail has been an eyesore to our plans. Simply leaving them alone isn't wise, Zeref-sama. Marde Guille hopes you have not been tainted by the humans.

[ As he repeats what he had said before. He certainly hopes Zeref has not played around with the humans too much. It would be a shame, really. Not that he thinks he's stronger than Zeref, of course. ]

Then do as you will. The Third Master will offer insight into that that I couldn't.

Ah, I will be looking forward to the Third Master, however, Zeref-sama's insight are always-- rather unique.
