[video] Halloween Curse shenanigans

Well, I have to admit, this has been a very curious morning.

[Albus Dumbledore is sitting in a chair in front of a small table ~~in a place that is not his normal living quarters shhhh~~ and looking at his own hand with a small, mischievous look on his face.

There's nothing in his hand, until his smears his thumb over his palm and a small hard candy appears. He raises his hand up and drops into the palm of his other hand. And then drops another hard candy, and another. And then he releases a candy cane, and a lollipop, and a roll of taffy, letting them accumulate in a small pile on a table in front of him, each item appearing out of thin air.

It's almost like watching a magician pull a trick, except his sleeves are rolled up, and he doesn't have his wand.

He seems utterly delighted by this, his eyes shining with even more mischief than normal.]

Tell me, would anyone be interested in some candy?

((OOC: Dumbledore is now a deity! Specifically the deity of sweets.))

[Albus, you're quickly becoming her favorite person ever right now as she nods and continues to savor the lemon hard candy.]

Keep this up and when I switch back, I'll be craving sugary sweets and unable to have them.

[In other words, keep it coming. She'll deal with that at some later date.]

What other foods do you suggest I try? I mean.. I was thinking that thing called cake. I've never had it before. And apples. I've always seen regular horses eating them and wondered why they like them so much.

[He looks thoughtful for a moment.] Cake and apples are absolutely worth a try, as are real strawberries, and scones, and jam. Here, let me try something-

['Sweets' is such a nebulous thing. He can sense somewhat innately that apples and scones are beyond him, but he focuses for a moment, and then a small slice of cake on a plate appears in front of Li.]

Ah! There we are. Some cake for you to try.

[She watches curiously when he says he's going to try something. What could he be...? Li blinks as a small slice of cake appears before her.

...Chocolate cake. She hesitantly picks up a piece and tries it.. and seems to melt at the flavor. Guess who has never had chocolate before either.]

Albus, you're amazing.

[And she might just be devouring that cake as quickly as she can.]

Not at all. I'm quite glad you're enjoying it. [When she finishes, he'll summon another slice of cake for her.]

[The next slice of cake is also quickly devoured just like the first. Yes, she's definitely enjoying all of the sweets.]

What else can you make? Cookies? Cupcakes?

[In other words, what else can she try.]

I think so! Here, let me see --

[He focuses for a moment, and then a small plate appears with assorted cookies, cupcakes, and little miniature donuts as well.]

[Albus, you're spoiling her rotten. Li delights in trying a little bit of everything on the plate before really honing in on the sweets she likes. Apparently Li was becoming very fond of cookies of all sorts.]

...Can I move in with you for the week? Or can I just.. steal you to keep trying all these awesome sweets.

[He chuckles.] I appreciate how much you enjoy them. Unfortunately, I'm a little otherwise preoccupied, but I can summon as many of these as you like over the device, it looks like.

[She tilts her head to the side a bit and then smirks a little.]

Let me guess, Gellert?

[Yep, she might just be grinning slightly.]

I guess this works then.

[He's a little more shameless as a deity, so he doesn't turn quite as red as he would normally. But he does grin a little.]

Perhaps. Though I'm not sure of his location at the moment.

[At least he wasn't looking as embarrassed as usual.]

Oh yeah? I'd say give him an hour at most and he'll find you in no time.

Normally I'd agree, but since we all seem to be different than normal, it's hard to say for sure.

Even changed, I'm pretty sure he'll have no problem finding you.

[She's... pretty confidant on that.]

And if you can't find him, come find me and I'll call him for you with my voice if you need me to.

Ah, that seems to be a treacherous idea. I'll look for him, and I'll let you know if I don't find him.

It probably is, but, at least it's a fun idea? I mean I could call him and when he arrives I can take off and leave you two alone.

[She might be smirking a little at that particular suggestion.]

Fine, but the offer's still out there if you need it.

Trying to be our wingman, are you? Or wingwoman, I suppose. Perhaps I'll take you up on it, if you promise not to drown us.

That depends, do you two need one?

[In other words, need help or do the two of you got this? ]

I would never drown Gellert and that goes for you too. I like you two enough to not want to eat either of you.

[He grins a little.] We've done quite well on our own, I think.

Ah, I appreciate it. I like you, in turn, and am grateful you feel no desire to devour me.

Good. You two fit well together from what I can tell.

[She tilts her head and grins slightly.]

If I devoured you, I'm pretty sure Gellert would hex me or worse regardless of how much he might like me. But, even a vicious Kelpie like me can appreciate one or two humans every once in a while.. even wizards.

We do. Or at least, I'd like to believe we do.

[He grins a little at that.] Well, I appreciate being the exception. And I suspect you are likely right, Gellert would have some spells on hand if that were to happen.

Good.

I know and I think I'll pass on letting him use those spells. [Her grin turns into a slight smirk as she plucks another piece of hard candy out of her small pile.]

I think if I ever do end up with foals, they'll be well protected.

A wise idea. And you're right, they would have all sorts of spells to keep them very, very safe.

I figured as much.

[She seemed pleased about that.]

Eventually... maybe that'll happen. My curse needs to be broken and then I'll have to find a stallion. Neither of those are going to be easy tasks.

They may be difficult, but not impossible. And if nothing else, you have an entire multiverse's worth of resources at your disposal. And clever wizards on hand, as well, to help you with your curse.

[She nodded and then paused when she realized something and sat up a little more. for a moment there was a flash of something in her eyes.]

I trust you both with this, I really do and I can't wait for the day it's broken.

[She hesitated slightly and then for once she wasn't having anything block her from speaking about it. She waited and.. nothing. That gave her confidence to speak more.]

Albus...The curse is getting worse. Please, don't tell Gellert but, I need you two to break it within the next year at most. My temper's cooling and that's what's been keeping it at bay all these years.
