[Qubine's relaxing in his cave, laying across the cold stone floor when the feed comes on.]
So...is everyone enjoying their transformations?
[There may be a hint of amusement in his voice, but he's honestly just curious. He's not planning to be mean...]

I was lucky--I guess--to be spared, but does this happen often? I know Mr. Andor spoke of it happening a while ago, where he was a vampire. And this year he's a droid...
[Talking dragon that isn't Shenlong.
Whom Trunks still hasn't met, but has heard the legends of.That is still going to amaze Trunks and make him feel like a little kid with giddiness.][Video]
I suppose being lucky is a matter of perspective. But I suspect turning into something else would teach people that they're ultimately happier in their normal form, even if they had wished to become something else...
Re: [Video]
[Trunks tries hard to let any bitterness not leak on that statement. He especially knows how tempting it is, and also how things can change and become bad, even with the best intentions.]
I'm guessing you've never been to Nova City, so you wouldn't have been changed. I mean, if you don't mind talking about it.
[A.K.A. cars.]
But this year all the cities were affected, so it wouldn't make a difference.
Re: [Video]
[Because being polite, even if he's still grinning like a little kid in some ways.]
But there are some really neat places in it and if you wanted to visit again I can try and help keep an eye out for you. I mean, if that'd be useful.
[At least giving a name helps him keep his unique identity rather than just a random dragon.]
Perhaps. What exactly does Nova City have that would interest me?
Re: [Video]
Sorry about that, it's nice to meet you Mr. Qubine. Before coming here, I'd only ever heard of one dragon that spoke, and he was both hard to get a hold of, and died before I ever got a chance to meet him. My name is Trunks
Honestly, the sky-gardens are kind of nice, but they might not be as interesting since you live in Fayren which is also pretty darn beautiful. I think the tech is fascinating, but that's because it's also more advanced than what I grew up around, but close to it as well.
I'm not sure. This is....different.
Well, there's still time to explore with it.
Re: [Video]

[He has to think of an explanation, as he's never had to explain to someone who's never had wings before...]
Use them gently. If you've never had wings before, I would suggest starting from the top of a high cliff. When you spread your wings, they'll use the wind to keep airborne by gliding. Push your wings down gently to gain altitude. Push your body weight downward to descend. You can also fold your wings about halfway to dive, but be sure to spread them again before you get too close to the ground. But I wouldn't recommend that until you've had some practice.

...Depending on how large you are, I can be there to catch you if something goes wrong, if you'd like.
[Which isn't something he would normally offer.]
Re: [Video]
[So probably fairly small? She's seen bigger dragons.]
That is certainly manageable. I'm much larger than that.

"Simply put, no. The largest 'no' I can muster. I've complained my fair share, already about it."

Re: [Video]
A long, deep sigh from the depths of the cockles of her heart.
"Aside from being unable to read minds, all I have to do is do everything slightly slower than I'm used to. I suppose, looking at it that way, it isn't too bad."
video;
[She finds new ways to screw people who deserve it over at least. So that was always fun.]
I may be tiny right now, but that doesn't mean one still can't do what they normally do. Just got to be clever.
video;
[He nods.]
Indeed. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be human-sized...even for a little while. I get the feeling I'd prefer to be large like this, despite the difficulties this world presents for it.
video;
But it's still good to experience what it's like anyway so that I knew for certain that saying could be somewhat accurate.
[A smirk, showing off a flash of long white canines. She would tease him about it but she can tell he's happy not to have been turned into anything. So she won't.]
[The smirk definitely seems off on her, and not just because of the canines. So it's the only conclusion to come to.]
Video
And yours?
Video
Me? I haven't transformed, so I'm fine.
Re: Video
Ah, right, you wear that silly mask so often. The world must have thought a costume redundant. And your candy stores? How's that coming along?
Video
[Goodness! Four years is fuckin' old. Just ask Amadeus.]
I'm five years old now. And if you're used to running on two legs, I can see how you'd think of all sorts of fancies.
[He glares at the screen.]
My mask is not silly; it reflects who I am. And I have no candy store...
Re: Video
Well, you're silly, so reasonably, so's your mask. And there's nothing that signifies your silliness so much as your dearth of supplies. How on earth do you expect to entertain trick-or-treaters without any candy? It's like you want to be tricked.
Video
...How am I silly? Unlike some dragons, I don't need to keep a hoard of supplies in a big pile just to get by.
And what, pray tell, are trick-or-treaters?
Re: Video
One way people have fun this time of year is trick-or-treating. One travels from place-to-place collecting treats from those who don't, that's all. The former being very young and the latter being older. It's hard to place you, but since you're a stick-in-the-mud I suppose you'd make a decent enough host.
Video
[His face sours again.]
It's not fair to expect people or any species from other worlds to live by the same traditions that you have in your own world.
[He lets out a sigh as a look of sadness crosses his face.]
...There was a time when my clan held a certain "tradition." Every month, we would celebrate one of the holidays to honor one of our deities. Usha, Grim, and I would even dress up to take on the holiday theme. But after the plague struck, our lives were turned upside down, and nothing has ever been the same since.
[He listens curiously to the trick-or-treat story.]
I think these "trick-or-treaters" would be hard pressed to find my cave in the mountains...
Re: Video
I'm sorry to hear that.
[Though he has less time for sad backstories than usual. In his experience, wallowing in those never seems to help their tellers. Present > Past]
Heh, one does have to take with civilization to have much hope of partaking in its celebrations. You're pretty chummy with Mavis, aren't you? See if you can't lend a talon to whatever she's doing. If nothing else, you look so fantastic that people will assume you've costume enough.
