[The screen at first shows well... a rather dull room in the children's home with a white plush rabbit sitting on the only bed that is slightly untidier than the others. There is, however, a sudden WOOSH, past the screen with a trail of light and glitter going in the air before suddenly Alice somewhat crash lands into Basil.

Wait.

Alice, who usually holds the stuffed rabbit in the crook of his arm is now quite contentedly sitting atop his head, bright blue and black butterfly wings jutting from her back. Does she look as ecstatic as she feels?

Because she's practically bouncing. Wait no, she is bouncing.]

I HAVE WINGS!

[She stands up atop Basil's head, measuring no more than a few inches tall now, three to be precise..]

I have wings! I'm a fairy! Is something like this very common? I wanted to meet one and now I am one? It's a very good thing I'm quite used to being only three inches tall or this would all seem dreadfully frightening! Although, this time I can fly! I couldn't do that last time so getting so much as past a garden took forever.

Ah but this is frabjous! Oh! I wonder if I can do any magic! Do fairies need wands to do magic? Wait, no... I think that's witches... Or maybe it's both?

Is there a fairy I could speak to who might know?

[ A certain French accented vampire appears on screen once more, standing her full (and diminutive) height and looking quite imperious. Maybe she's being a bit of an authoritarian, but she has things to do and feels like proving a point. ]

This, I'm told, is only temporary, as well as apparently yearly. I understand that some of you may have become vampires, or another being that feeds on mortals. No doubt the instinct to feed is coming into play.

I must insist that you control these urges, and make your way to Edible Alternatives and the various blood banks. There you can find legal ways to sate yourselves.

I do not want to hear about any deaths. Remember, the Night Law is no longer in effect. If there are deaths because you've lost control, you will be taken down and arrested. I do hope I've made myself clear?

That said, if some of you are having difficulty with self control, I'm willing to offer my aid, as are others.

[Allen sighed slightly, he had been trying to eat like he normally would, but it just wasn't going to happen and he hated it so much. More so since he knew he had to ask for help like he said he would to Bulla.]

I'm not going to complain or anything because there is no point. I have no heartbeat and I seem to only want one thing and I hate it, but I have to deal with it for the moment. I'm actually talking because of the fact I have certain dietary needs and I have only been to Everglade once. So I am going to get extremely lost quickly.

[Phibrizzo managed to dodge all of the changes many others seem to be afflicted by, which means it’s time to walk around and enjoy feeding off of the misery and distress others are feeling as a result of the changes.

At the same time, as a Jolly Eddy’s employee, Namur has effectively volunteered the staff’s services in protecting others. In some cases, this may be protection from those who might hunt monsters. So while Phibrizzo will be enjoying people’s misery, he’s also here to provide some protection. And hopefully annoy a few hunters along the way.

When not on duty, he can be found near others playing a game on a battery operated handheld video game console. He’s not very good at it. You can tell by the way that he moves as he’s trying to play the game. While his thumbs would be enough to direct the little character on the screen, he’s leaning into it. Behold the sounds of the little character on the screen dying with a little sad chime of music.]

[ The video feed flicks on to a view of the Genessia library. Micaiah's feed seems surrounded by books, most of them neat but at least a few with open, messy pages. And then suddenly, a scaly, clawed hand slams onto one (somehow without damaging the book's pages). And then another. The video gives way to Micaiah, now sporting draconic horns, mouth glistening with the heat of flames yet to be released. She lets out a proud roar!

...actually no, she's just yawning. ]

It seems I've become a draconic laguz for a while. I've at least heard some announcements that this is temporary... [ Micaiah now steadies herself and leans back onto a couch. A bowl of fruit is on a table nearby.  ] ...but more concerning is that I can't stop collecting books. It seems unfair to the other patrons, but an angry, protective feeling swells within me every time I see someone check out a book. I can't bear to do any unjustified violence, so I've wound up holing up here every night, collecting enough of a mass of books until I'm satisfied. I've at least read a few.

[ She gives a sigh. ]

Until I confirmed that this was just a temporary thing, I was looking for a possible means to keep my impulses under control, but I just kept looking and looking...

At least the library staff has been understanding of my afflictions...

[Lisa's back and already wandering the castle, warg following her like a lost puppy. She's used to it by now as the Castle doesn't want it's Lady to be without some sort of protection.

What: Halloween Event post, Satori has a hard time adapting.

[Prelude]

The first thing that Satori found when she awoke was gnawing hunger. Not for flesh and fear, but just...sustenance. She stumbles into the kitchen, her body feeling much weaker, and heavier. Normally, her body would be telling her if she was hungry much later than this. Why, then...?

The second thing Satori noticed was silence. Silence from outside, silence from her pets. Just silence. That wasn't right at all. She picks up a very disgruntled Murkrow from its perch and stares at it for a time. It just ends up staring back at her, nonplussed, as if to say 'I didn't do it'.

She immediately goes to her vidphone...

"...How...how do you manage this! Everything feels so slow and so stiff compared to before."

It's Satori. This time, sans third eye. Otherwise, she looks exactly the same.

"For some reason, I've awoke today to find my powers are gone and I'm a...human. It's so quiet. I'm unnerved and terrified to hear just my own thoughts, but at the same time it's far too quiet. The silence bothers me..."

She grumbles to herself. It seems she's looking for something to eat...

"Are there any tips you humans can give me about...being human? I have no idea how I'm to put such a thing but I'm starting to pity humanity a little more for having such sluggish and weak constitutions."

[A long-haired man in a long white coat appears on screen, looking confused and somewhat in shock. He's carrying the usual new arrival gear from the docks, but he seems a little dazed and disoriented. His collar hangs open, exposed a long gash mark along his neck, but he doesn't seem to be paying it any mind. Instead, he's glancing around Genessia City with an overwhelmed and stunned expression.

Everything seems so very different than from 1896...]

...I don't quite know if I'm using this correctly. If I'm to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a device quite like this before. But if someone could explain to me where I am a little bit, I think that would be helpful.

[He shuts his eyes for a second, as if trying to shake a fog from his thoughts. Eventually he shakes his head and looks back at the screen, continuing.]

The last thing I remember is -- dying. The last thing I recall is dying. And now I'm in this place and it's all very...well, it's not quite what I think I imagined the afterlife to be.

[Yeah, Hector looks pretty annoyed. And...also very wet. His hair is plastered to his skull and his vest is completely gone. The red tie is still there, but also dripping wet.]

Okay, okay, okay. Look, whatever this Halloween that is coming up is, I get it has to do with scary things.

But! I am already a skeleton, si? So, why do I need to be 'scary'? Enough people have screamed to prove that.

[He gives a little grunt and hefts himself out of what appears to be a river, a bony fish tail coming into view as he settles on the bank. There are beautiful, colorful marks all along the fin. Spirals of bright green lined with petal like shapes of gold and purple.

At his waist are a pair of extra fins, just as skeletal but the bones are a completely purple.]
