Initial Reactions/Locked to Amatsu Inn & backdated to 1st day of the event
Tomoe felt grimaced in her sleep as something in her back started to cramp, the discomfort bringing her to a semi-conscious state, at least before a sudden stretching sensation combined with the loud ripping of fabric startled her awake entirely. She sat up quickly, breathing a question in surprise--until something large shifted behind her, easily large enough to be a person, or a creature and she jumped, twisting toward it in the dark, only to see it seem to spread and loom over her--and something else large and heavy shift directly on the futon beside her. Without thinking she scrambled to her feet, screaming--
--and the room suddenly lit with a burst of light from no recognizable source, blinding her for half a second, but then giving enough light that she could see that there was nothing there. She gasped for breath, eyes searching the room before realizing that the only reason she could see was because the bedding was on fire. Just as fast she dropped to her knees, grabbing at the portion of the bedding that wasn't alight to try to smother the flame--when she finally noticed her body, or at least her hands which had become scaled, her fingers tipped in sharp black talons.
"What!?!" she gasped, looking down at herself, realizing her sleeping robe was in tatters. Looking over her shoulder her breath caught seeing that what had startled her in the first place was a set of large leathery wings protruding from her own back. "Kenshin!??" she yelped, trying to pull herself out of the shock enough to finish stamping out the burning futon. What in the hell was going on!?!?!
I. Action/Prose near the Amatsu Inn in Fayren--early during the event
While Tomoe would never consider herself the adventuresome sort, her current circumstances seemed to be... pulling her. After all, didn't everyone dream of flying at some point in their lives? And how often did someone find themselves with the means to do so literally upon their backs? But she was still a fundamentally cautious person, so despite the fact that she indeed now had wings she had yet to use them--after all, one did not simply begin to run simply because they had legs. It wouldn't do to jump off a cliff expecting to fly just because one had wings. She would likely wind up dying... again.
So she sat at an overhang near the Amatsu Inn where the river ran past--specifically in an area that she knew was safe for diving--thinking. What if... she did jump? The worst case scenario would be that she'd just fall in the water, right? But she couldn't quite bring herself to try. So instead she remained at the edge, stretching her wings out to feel what wind currents she could and the bit of lift she could sense, trying to build up the courage to jump.
II. Action/Prose Fayren, anytime during the event
Tomoe had forgotten how she had dreamed of flying as a child. In the first year after her mother had died, when she had first stepped into the role of mother for Enishi and before she had perfected sealing her emotions away it was all she had wanted. To have that weight of responsibility lifted off of her shoulders and just fly away from it all...
It was everything she had dreamed it would be. She felt free. Perhaps it was being unbound by land, or the feel of the wind as tugged at her hair, drew over her scaled skin and buffeted her wings. Perhaps it was being able let herself go in some manner other than just pouring her soul into a bound book. She only regretted that it had taken her so long to finally take to the sky.
Supposedly this would only last for a week--and so she was intent on spending as much time in the air as she could, circling the forests around the Amatsu, skimming along the rivers and venturing further and further about Fayren while she was able, no matter how tired and sore her newfound appendages might become.
III. Action/Prose Fayren, anytime during the event
Tomoe had stopped at the river's edge, out of breath and wings quivering from exhaustion. It was fair to say she hadn't had this much physical exertion since she was a girl. She drew her legs up under her, not quite kneeling considering the new shape of her feet, and curled her tail around her while awkwardly trying to fold her wings similarly.
Thinking of the haphazard start to this week she raised one taloned hand to her throat and experimentally blew through pursed lips into the palm of her other hand. Though there were no flames her breath did seem to be warmer than one might expect. Keeping her hand at her throat to try to feel any difference she tried again, adjusting the internal feel of her throat like someone trying to feel out a new sound might, trying again to produce a tongue of flame like she had in her panic the first day.
[ooc; Tomoe is a dragon hybrid and although I don't have clothing in that picture she has managed to basically wind fabric around herself so that she is mostly covered... I just haven't drawn it yet XD;I've also never done a multi-prompt post so hopefully this doesn't suck...]

Re: 2/2
Ted plunges into the depths, before bobbing up and catching his breath. As he dog paddles to keep afloat, he snaps his muzzle to see whether she'd ascend into heaven, or descend into h--
Hot dog, she's done it! He almost barks with approving laughter.]
Ahaha, well done, well done! Just so! You look like a dragon good enough to slay!
[That's a compliment.]

[She looks down hearing Ted's voice and seeing that he is indeed alright albeit wet. If she were one to actually display emotions this would be where a normal person would smile or laugh... but she's not normal. Instead she closes her eyes briefly, taking in the feeling of near weightlessness and the satisfaction of having finally done it.]
[She circled back around, wings beating a few times to facilitate the turn--now that she was in the air it was surprising how naturally it seemed to be coming to her. She flew toward the rock face, drawing herself up and flapping her wings to stop her forward momentum before latching onto the side with talons on both fingers and toes before looking down to Ted.]
As mad as that was, I believe I owe you my thanks.

It's well taken; you've my welcome in kind, thought 'twas my pleasure! The more so if you'll give your name.

[Etymology's his evergreen interest. He idly floated down the winding river, which was surely guiding him to a separate way.]
Keep it, or rather, yourself, up, won't you? Alas, I fear the water moves to part us, leading to aquatic adventure elsewhere. Good morning, good morning, Tomoe! Go under the Mercy!

[She leaps from the edge, no hesitance this time, and spreads her wings, catching herself just above the water. One strong flap and she's up again--shocking how the natural instinct just took over once she was in the air.]
