She was surprised to see that bakeries were being targeted for robberies...more surprised to see that the bakeries were being robbed of all their dough both literally and figuratively speaking. There was, perhaps, a tiny bloom of appreciation in her heart to know that these criminals at least had a sense of humor. It didn't excuse the crime any, but she always appreciated a good joke.

First she made a few calls to the other bakeries. That part wasn't hard. Not only was she a deputy, but as the owner of Cake Town, they had a friendly sort of rivalry that didn't make it unusual or stressful for them if she called them up or paid a visit to examine the crime scenes. The criminals always struck after the bakery was closed for the night, either picking the lock or using a blow torch to melt it open. They also made a pretty big mess which seemed to infer some sort of anti-bakery aggression.

Cake Town hadn't been hit yet, but she was sure it was on the list. She'd owned the place for about a year now, it had earned some small measure of publicity.

So, she made a second round of calls to a few friends to stage an ambush. Of course she wanted to do her job as a deputy guardian, but if she were being honest, she believed this would be a lot of fun, and that was something she could use right now.

Using the 'break room', her friends could wait comfortably and drink hot beverages to stay awake and keep each other company, taking turns to wait outside somewhere hidden to watch for signs of the criminals. There would definitely be more than one, she was sure of that -- the footprints in the spilled flour showed shoes of different sizes.

When it was Orihime's turn to keep watch on the second night, she settled herself on the roof of the apartment building across the way, zipped up her jacket, and sipped hot tea from a thermos until she saw a small group of people, all dressed in black and paying way more attention to their surroundings than a normal person would, come to a stop in front of the Cake Town door. Some of them spread out, circling the building and taking up a casual position to smoke (likely to watch for policemen or guardian activity). She activated the video of her comm, held up fingers to indicate the number of robbers, and grinned from ear to ear. Go time!
