Guardian nominations, huh?
Huh, that's a weird way to start some sort of elections in Genessia. What are Guardians anyway?
Well, it doesn't matter. Because there's one thing I should know, I don't trust the people who will be nominated for it. And neither should you.

if you bothered to read anything provided to you at the start, you'd know what guardians do. read a book.

I don't deny there are sketchy people who will try to run, but insisting no one can be trusted is too cynical.

Also you'd be surprised at what the power of friendship can do.

What about them don't you trust? Do you have bad experiences with law enforcement systems back home?
Re: [not anon]
[He does, but he rather limits himself with the information for now.]
a lot... all they do is just arrest the guy and put them in prison for years. not only that, these people are just hired security to the big wigs around town.
they never do anything that would "really" protect anyone.
[not anon]
That doesn't sound good. Arrest doesn't help if you aren't thinking about release.
What do you think the Guardians could do to "really" protect people? You don't need to immediately trust people, but I bet you could still give them great ideas.
[just a reminder Aaron's texts are still anon]

Unanon
While there is truth in being careful with whom you trust, not trusting someone simply because they've chosen to run for guardianship only reflects upon you. If you have reason to cast doubt upon those who are running, you should share those reasons or perhaps consider the real reasons you feel so negatively toward these elections.
[she has chosen not to address the ridiculous "all celebrities should be investigated" nonsense she's seen elsewhere in this post.]
Re: Unanon
and i didn't say i can't trust them if they nominate themselves as guardians or whatever. what happens if that political power got over their heads? what if they abuse them for their own personal gain?
i also think that the system running the elections are flawed as well.
no subject
Understandably, it is a concern that power could corrupt someone who obtains it. I have seen it myself, in fact. However, it's best to give the benefit of the doubt to those who are seeking election unless we have reasons not to. Who wins will be up to those who choose to vote—there are some candidates I've seen that I would be more likely to trust in the position just by looking at how they've answered questions.
What would you propose instead, out of curiosity? Surely since you seem convinced that this is the wrong way about it, you have an alternative to present?

You don't even know what they do. They handle threats to the cities and try to keep it falling into the literal abyss. If you like existing, you can always try to find someone better for the job.
