[At first the video shows Link tilting and examining the phone, seeming to try and evaluate it even though he is clearly aware that the feed is running. After a moment he finally fixes the view more on his face to show a serious-looking young man with blonde hair tied back in a neat braid.]
I can't say that I've ever been held captive somewhere with captors who were so upfront about the fact that I was even kidnapped in the first place. Or where they spent so much time and effort on appearing... Accommodating.
[He pauses a beat before frowning.]
But it's clear to me that they are also trying to keep us complacent. Has anyone done any serious investigating into who exactly brought us here or why? I have no intention of trusting the local government obviously, but I've heard about these "Guardians". Are they more reliable?
[Action]
[Link is taking his time explore the layout of Genessia City, attempting to do some investigating on his own and become accustomed to the layout of the place. It's important to understand this new setting as thoroughly as possible if he has any hope of escaping after all, so he is coming at this from the same angle he would any other investigation or mission. He tries to explore both side-streets and major roads when possible, although he does try to appear nondescript and not draw too much attention to himself as much as possible.
... Wait, is that a pastry shop?
The blonde freezes in front of Cake Town, staring almost longingly at the displays in the window before shaking his head hard. No! Now is not the time to give into temptation! But it's been a long time since he had any sweets... In the end Link just ends up standing there looking inside almost pitifully.]

I-I'm fine. Just... wasn't expecting to see anyone from my world here, especially you considering what I last remember now.
[With the whole incident that lead to him leaving the Order thing. Good times.]
no subject
That surprise was to be expected, but there was no need to tell more information than necessary.]
I'm more resilient than I look. But... [He adjusted himself, eyes averting slightly as if he felt almost embarrassed with what he was considering saying.] Well. It's good that you're well.
no subject
Good to see you are as well, though... I guess you just arrived so there is a lot you don't know.
[He made sure Timcampy was on top of his head before he paused, looking at where Link had been a moment ago. he knew of this store and he knew what was within.]
Were you thinking of buying something in Cake Town?
no subject
[As Allen noticed the store Link paused, casting a lingering glance towards it before simply letting out a noncommittal hum.]
Ah- [Even if he had been caught he certainly wasn't going to admit having been considering giving into the temptation; he had to be a good example, especially with Walker here. The Crow shifted his weight before turning his back to the store, seeming to go out of his way to pretend to be disinterested.] I was just looking, nothing more.
no subject
[Said by someone who seems like this wasn't his first time. Though unlike this world the information he got in the last world were by something else.]
But I am sure you'll get your bearings sooner rather than later. [A small grin passed by his face. Yes, he was going to say something about the just looking.]
Oh, sure just looking. I heard it's very good in there and was considering buying something. But if you were just looking I might not since I'll have to show you to where I am currently staying and... ask the owner something.
no subject
[The prospect of having to seek answers on his own didn't bother the Crow; it would hardly be the first time for him to do such a thing, after all. And at least for the moment he didn't have to worry about also tracking a certain rogue Exorcist.
Link stiffened at that smile, immediately knowing that no good could come of it. He knew Allen well enough to be certain that such an expression usually accompanied mischief or some joke at his own expense or, more often than not, some combination of the two. He coughed primly and shrugged, doing his best to continue looking stoic and not at all interested in the pastries.]
... Well. If you'd like to buy something then I can hardly stop you, Walker.
no subject
Could you at least look after my bags while I do? I won't be too long because I do need to get this food back to Fayren.
[All said with a smile.] he figured while he was teasing, he knew what he was at least going to be doing.]
no subject
Very well, just don't go running away.
[Spoken like someone well-versed in the younger man's penchant for flying the coop.]
no subject
I won't. I have no reason to.
[Said as he was walking inside as his Pokemon had only reached the door as it closed and just stood there. He couldn't open doors after all, but it wasn't long before he was back out with another bag.]
Okay got what I wanted. I shall show you where I live and if you want me to carry the bags I left you with now is the time to hand them back.
no subject
When the other emerged from the store he ignored his comments for a moment, nodding to the Pokemon instead.]
What is that?
no subject
It's a friend. I believe called a Pokemon. I found him in the last world I was on. [The Pokemon in question looked over himself toward the other.]
Though I gave him a name, but... because you're here it might get a little awkward, so I'll call him Junior.
no subject
... Did you name it after me, Walker?
no subject
[At least he was being honest about it as he walked with the bags, making sure he remembered where he was and using Tim to help when he felt like he was getting a little lost.]
I mean he always trailed behind me, so I figured when naming him it made the most sense.
no subject
I'm not entirely sure whether I should be flattered or insulted.
no subject
[For him it had been because he missed the other, which he wasn't going to openly admit at least.]
But... Never the less... I'm glad we can talk like this.
no subject
But there was now time to allow his thoughts to slip towards sentimentality; he still had a duty to carry out.]
How long have you been here?
no subject
If you mean in Genessia alone... four months. If you mean how long I've been away from home in general... More than that, but I couldn't be exact with overall unless I had a good think about it. [Which was honestly a long time now he honestly thought about it. Eyes soon looking back toward the other.]
I feel like there is going to be another question with this.
no subject
Have you came across on any clues regarding how to leave? [There was some part of the blonde that knew the answer, though. He would be surprised if Allen had even tried.]
no subject
No, I mean people vanish but it's never explained how that happens.
[He hadn't really looked into it that much. But he knew really he should have been looking into it himself. Here his purpose was... he honestly didn't know now. He had left the Order back home the last world he was in had issues he had wanted to help with and here... he really had no clue.]
I have no way of saying how one can find that out though.
no subject
I see. I have heard similar things from the few others I've spoken to so far so while that's concerning it's at least consistent.
[He looked over Allen then as if he hadn't properly before, the slightest moment of genuine concern peeking through his stern expression without him even realizing it.]
... You haven't had any trouble here, have you?
no subject
[He never knew what actually happened to Link now that he thought about it.]
Well, I guess whatever is going on with yourself, it must be important, right? I mean... Last I remember a lot was going on and I don't know what exactly happened to you when I left.
[He shook his head.]
I mean in things happening in this world, yes. With the other thing, no problems at all... It's like it's not an issue... which is weird. [And considering everything, he cannot explain how suddenly the memories of the Noah weren't trying to take him over and haven't for months.]
no subject
He also knew Allen's penchant for worrying about others, and some small part of him didn't want to give him any reason to be concerned with him.]
I'm still assigned to watch out for you, that has never changed. But that's good to hear that you haven't had any problems with... That. [He shrugged almost awkwardly. Link was angry with himself for being relieved to hear that the Fourteenth had not made another reemergence, as protecting that bit of Allen was the true purpose of his mission. It had been easy to focus when faced with the Noah himself, but now it was not so easy.]
no subject
Does that include now then? [He figured that seemed obvious.] But as for that... I am hoping that it stays that way honestly. It means I don't have to keep worrying and also... any promises for who might have to kill me won't be needed anymore at least. [The last part was mostly the young man talking to himself, remembering a conversation he and Kanda had in a previous world.]
But it means I can focus on what I wan, I guess. But that makes me wonder. What are you going to do around here, except following me? Will you work? Housing? That kind of thing?
no subject
Of course it includes now. Just because our surroundings have changed does not mean anything else has.
[He didn't ask questions about what Allen meant about "promises for who might have to kill me", figuring that it perhaps referred to some past promise of the Exorcist's or something that had occurred while he had been in the city. Link did huff slightly in indignation at the questions, raising an eyebrow as he glanced towards the other young man.]
If you're implying that I was going to free-load off of you while I carry out my mission that was never my intention. I'll find a job and appropriate housing.
no subject
I wasn't implying anything. But if you want to look at a place I'd recommend Fairy Haven. I live there currently so I could always ask Mavis for you?
