Going to school in addition to supporting myself sounds exhausting.

What type of school did you go to before you arrived here?

An ordinary middle school in Japan.

[ He's not sure if she's heard of Japan, but figures she could have met others from there. He's also revealing that he's a bit younger than he looks.]

Students wear uniforms. Classes are from morning to mid afternoon. They are tedious. After classes are club activities. I'm captain of the judo club.

[ He thinks 'a guy and a girl fall in love' is an adequate description for his brother's manga.]

[ Weiss has some idea what he means, even if her schooling situation was substantially different. She's only heard of Japan because she and Sun took a detour to the Tokyo Tower through an archway once. ]

Then why don't you just attend school regularly here, then teach judo classes instead of join a club? There are plenty of fighters here, I'm sure some of them would like an education in a new fighting style that could potentially expand their repertoires. If you're captain of the team I'm sure you're at least somewhat qualified, so that should take care of your income without overexerting your daily schedule.

[ He sleeps through classes to keep up his energy for judo.]

That's the type of career I'd like to pursue.

I'm nowhere near the level of a master, but I guess I could teach the basics.

One of the best ways to learn is to teach. As long as you stay ahead of the rest of the class, you'll probably be okay. I mean, unless there's someone who's better at judo than you already here.

[ Which is entirely possible and Weiss isn't trying to be an ass about it.. that's just how she comes across sometimes. ]

Good point. Teaching reinforces the fundamentals.

You won't know until you ask. It might help if you describe it, too. Occasionally different worlds have different names for similar concepts.

It's a defensive style that mostly uses throws and pins. The objective is to subdue an opponent using minimal force,ideally by throwing them off balance.

Here's some of the basic techniques.

It's not something we use frequently in my world, but in my world something like that would have limited uses if it's mostly throws as pins. But my world has somewhat different problems than some of the other ones, so I'm sure someone else will recognize it.

[ At the very least, she's certain none of that would be very effective against a creature of Grimm. An unarmed human, sure. ]

It might come in use in the shadier areas around here, too.
