The amazing arrival of Super Ninja Mirai Volume 1: The Coldening. (Video)
[Whats small, under dressed for the weather, and shivering like a leaf in a hurricane? That would be poor little Mirai, who managed to find herself appearing in a new world right int the middle of a snowstorm. Someone wandering the area looking confused is probably nothing new to the people around her, but to the girl herself it most assuredly was! Thankfully the communication device is easy enough to figure out, and before long there's a frigid little thing sharing her dismay with anyone willing to listen.]
W...what is the meaning of this?! If you're going to do this sort of thing you should at least provide a winter coat!
[Because of course she doesn't have the money to buy one for herself. She barely has any idea what happened, anyway. Sure info may be provided, but that doesn't mean she's going to take the time to go through it. Not when she's more interested in finding a place to not freeze her little butt off.]
...Just someone tell me where I can go to get warm. And some hot cocoa. I want hot cocoa, too.
[She can get away with acting a LITTLE bit childish, right? If this really is some sort of different world its not like anyone she knows is going to call her out on it.]

[Yay more friends! But should probably get her out of there. Granted Homura seemed fine in the weather despite the workout suit she wore; generating heat in your body worked wonders.]
Where are you right now?
no subject
Now I'm hearing voices. What did I even do to deserve this? This is...
[That wasn't just her imagination, was it? She looks down, and discovers a familiar face to go with the familiar voice.]
I don't know! I just came out of some weird...pod thing.
Video to action
For now anyway. And hey, Christmas is coming.]
Just try and stay away from the snowstorm. I'm coming to pick you up. And transform already! You have more layers in that outfit anyway!
no subject
R...right...I didn't even think of that.
[Not that it was exactly winter wear, but at least her arms and legs would be covered. And while she wasn't exactly comfortable just doing it out in the open, she was willing to accept being stared at for being a weirdo if it meant covering up. By the time she speaks again, she's wearing a familiar feline bonnet.]
I don't know how to tell you where I am, but I haven't gone very far from where I came out of that...that thing.
no subject
[Suddenly Homura was standing right behind Mirai, a trail of melted snow a bit away from her as well. She made sure to go as fast as possible. Standing near Homura, Mirai might find herself a tad warmer at least.]
There's a lot to talk about, so we're going to someone else's place to sit down and chat. You don't mind wolves, do you?
[Because she kinda adopted one.]
no subject
Wolves? I don't care how many wolves there are as long as its warm. And..if they don't try and eat me.
[Dogs and cats aren't supposed to get along, after all. Perhaps wolves and cat-nin will get along better?]
no subject
[Homura turns around, crouching down with her arms extended behind her.]
It'll probably be faster if I just carry you. So hop on.
[And once again she forgot about the teleporters; she prioritized training a bit too much. At least Mirai would be much warmer. Provided she hold on for dear life.]
no subject
I..guess its fine...
[It isn't like she doesn't understand the need to rush, after all. She'll accept being given a high speed piggyback ride if it gets her out of the cold weather quicker.]
no subject
[Fire started to encircle on Homura, melting whatever snow was nearby. All it took was a brief second before dashing forward, leaving a trail of heat that sliced through all of the ice. Even any snow monsters that were coming were turned into a puddle as she rushed past them. Granted they would just reform, but Homura was putting her new training to the test. Whatever cries Mirai may have said, they were gonna fall on deaf ears.
In a few minutes, they were at a house, Homura dropping off Mirai as she skidded to the front door.]
Alright! Think that was my best time yet!
no subject
[There isn't even time for her to finish asking that question before she comes to realize that yes, maybe this is a thing she should have been doing herself. Fire isn't her friend, and the only reason that poofy dress doesn't catch fire is the sheer speed the two are moving at. And there are certainly some complaints getting lost in that wind, though who knows what she's even trying to say? Once the duo comes to a stop, it takes her a few moments to recover before the petite girl even speaks again.]
I...I thought I was gonna die!
[At least the heat kept the snow off of her. But once she calms down, she notices the location she'd been brought to.]
A house? You actually have a house here?!
[Yes, that's a bit of happiness in her voice.]
no subject
[She goes to the door, taking out her keys and opening it. Inside, Mirai would find a nice and cozy place, filled with everything a house needed, like rugs, heat, and....a small white wolf puppy growling angrily at Mirai.]
Oh...guess Tsumuji woke up.
no subject
Murder dolls? I...no, never mind. I don't even think I want to know.
[Its in the process of looking around that she discovers something even tinier then herself growling at her. Homura had said it was a puppy, but she didn't think it was going to be so tiny. The wolf being so small seems to please her for some reason.]
Don't you think you can scare me!
[She dramatically points a finger at the little thing, like it was going to be able to understand everything she says.]
You be good and I might pet you.....maybe! If Homura likes you, you can't be too bad.
[Sometime she'd have to ask what prompted her to take in a pet, but there were more pressing matters at hand.]
Wait...did you say a few months back? You've been here that long?
[Even as she speaks, she's occasionally glancing with her one uncovered eye towards that little puppy. She isn't scared of him exactly, but that doesn't mean she's just okay with being bitten, either.]
no subject
[She was rubbing the back of her own head. Mainly because it was an impulse adoption and she knew nothing until she went there in person. Best to leave that detail out.
She did move over to the pupper though, rubbing its head and it suddenly relaxed. Took a bit, but the wolf did love Homura's presence.]
And yeah. Guess time freezes back home or some shit. This is gonna sound weird, but what is the last thing you remember all of us doing together? Did we fight Dogen and Kagura, or did we escape that water gun island place?
no subject
Th..that big? Why would you even take something like that as a pet?! It probably would eat more in a day then we do in a week!
[Although she IS grateful for not having a lot of meat on her bones for once. So the puppy has THAT going for it at least. To a creature that large, she wouldn't make for a very appealing main course.]
Dogen? He's not still around, is he? How many times does one jerk need to die? I hadn't thought about him in a long time. But I remember the time we spent on that beach. It was sort of fun, even if there were some things I didn't like about it.
[Like running around in a bikini. Not like SHE got to show off, after all. At least gun-based combat that was sort of her area of expertise, even if it was water-gun.]
What made you ask something like that?
no subject
I'll explain later. [Or not at all and hope she forgets.]
As for why I asked, no, he ain't back. It's just this world takes people from not just their world, but different timelines. Hikage is also here, but she's from the same world that Kagura and Naraku were from. That's the same place where we rejoined Hebijo, and we haven't met Yumi or Miyabi's group, assuming they exist at all.
That being said, if that's the case, Dogen might one day show up here. And there are already a few other assholes here we gotta be alert for from other worlds. So I don't want you slacking off in your training, got it?
[She forces you to train because she cares about you. Always remember that when you are on the verge of exhaustion.]
no subject
Different timelines? Are you sure you didn't steal that from my latest story? I...no, I guess not. I mean, I haven't even put that one on the internet yet. And Hikage is from a whole different time? That doesn't really matter though, we're still a team.
[Mirai actually sounds a bit interested in this, though it'd probably be a struggle to get the sort of info she'd want out of Hikage.]
Don't you worry, Homura. I'm not slacker! I can't fight on your level, but anyone who tries to hurt us will get whats coming to them.
[In this case, whats coming to them would be roughly 400 bullets.]
no subject
Damn straight! But we gotta a lot of stuff to cover before even starting. Did you at least watch the hologram of Weiss? You should still be able to access it.
[If not, well to make things faster, Homura whips out her phone to display the hologram and let it explain things but--]
And yes I did meet her....we have low opinions of each other, and I want to set her on fire.
[So not good.]
no subject
It...it would probably be best if you don't do that. I mean, unless you really have to...
[This 'Weiss' has already been written into Mirai's mental list as a potential problem. While the petite girl doesn't support random acts of girl arson, someone that bothers the team leader bothers the team, and that means that there was at least a small chance Weiss might randomly run into a snide little eye patch wearing girl if she was lucky.]
I..I didn't have time to look at that, it was cold and confusing and I thought she might be a ghost. I..I know it sounds dumb, but everything else didn't make sense, why not ghosts, too?
[Yes, she looks a little bit embarrassed to admit to something so silly. But now she knows it isn't a ghost, and is more interested in watching it, both for the info and to get an impression of this 'Weiss' creature.]
Well, other then how none it sounds like it could ever be real, its not hard to understand. I guess we can't just go home whenever we feel like it.
no subject
[It helped free up some concentration Homura put into it, even making her a bit stronger with less energy spent into it. Overall a wonderful thing to have!]
But yeah, that's kinda the gist of things. We don't have to hide our abilities since let's face it, this ain't our world to begin with, so it's not like we are breaking any rules to warrant us being hunted. Plus it makes getting a job way easier. I already got a decent one patrolling a city, but I might get something better if Satou wins this election coming up. That and an actual house instead of this apartment if we get enough people with good paychecks.
[Ooc: pretend I said apartment instead of house all this time. Had to double check with Satou-mun. >_>;;;]
I SAW NOTHING GLORIOUS LEADER
...I won't ask what you were doing to fix that problem. But all the rest of that is all true? I don't have to pretend to just be some normal person here? That isn't bad. Maybe people might treat me with a little respect when they see how great I am.
[And so humble, too!]
I guess once I settle in I'll find a way to contribute, too. And I won't live in a cave and eat things we find in the woods, either. I'll have a bed. With sheets. And rooms. Rooms with WINDOWS.
[And all she will have to do is convince someone that she's actually a capable warrior, not just some kid with weird fashion sense.]
no subject
[Lord knows she never will. At the very least, the Crimson Squad was now another step closer to establishing itself in this world. Just had to get everyone to get used to this situation.]
Since this is an apartment though, you're rooming with me and Hikage for now. I mean technically this place gives you a room, but it ain't that great anyway and only temporary.
As for training, we can use something called a holodeck. Basically takes what we know and we can fight them. So say if we wanted to use Dogen for target practice. We can create a fake and kick his ass. Or even try to fight Master Suzune. The replicas can match the person almost perfectly.
[Nearly broke her arm when training with the Suzune hologram. Damn effective. Still, Homura is confident.]
Already saw results on my end. Beating down Yoma has become much easier compared to the first time we tried!
no subject
That's fine, it won't be much different from home anyway. Even sleeping on the floor will be fine.
[But more interesting then the lodgings is the talk of that training. It sounded almost too good to be true, but why would Homura lie about it?]
There's really something like that here? Now I REALLY think you've been really think you've been reading my latest story. After what that jerk did to us I wouldn't mind putting some bullets into Dogen, even if its not the real thing. They just let anyone use that thing, though?
no subject
[Much as she wanted Mirai to train, she never wanted her to die. Ya know, despite the excessive pressure she put on the small ninja.]
Trying to think of what else to cover...[Homura shrugs.] Eh, it will come to me after we get some cocoa and grub. You just got here and Christmas is coming, so we can relax a bit before I gotta head back out. Then we can bust up some more snow monsters.
[And with that, she rises and heads to the kitchen to make some. Fortunately despite her always fighting attitude, this stuff is simple. The wolf on the other hand spends her time sniffing Mirai and walking around the ninja. Might wanna take a seat.]
Junk food is in the cabinet too. Go nuts.
[Because she is sure Mirai is sick of grass and beansprouts.]
no subject
R..right, I won't do anything stupid, I promise.
[She's not scared of bumps, bruises, cuts and perhaps minor burns, but she was pretty fond of not being dead, and would very much like to continue enjoying that. This is of course why its a little bit concerning to be left in the room with that little puppy. She might be adorable now, but eventually she might consider Mirai a snack. That is at least as scary as a yoma!]
W..who's a good little doggie that definitely doesn't want to eat me? Mirai is your friend. Frieeeeeeend. Can you say...of course you can't, you're a dog.
[It would be almost comical seeing someone so concerned about such a cute little thing if they didn't know what it was supposed to grow up into.]
Okay, the best way to deal with animals is to be nice and calm and show them you don't mean any harm. Its just a harmless little puffball now, after all.
[She was already settled in, and smart enough to avoid making any sudden moves. With an exaggerated amount of carefulness, she slowly extends one of her hands towards the little animal. Let it get used to her now and she won't end up in its belly later!]
no subject
Until it suddenly jumped into the air and tried to tackle Mirai, even attempting to lick her face.]
Oh right, Tsumuji is also very playful if she likes you, and has a ton of energy to burn. So watch out for that.
[All as Homura is still prepping and almost done the cocoa.]
no subject
So it should be no surprise that she squeaks with undisguised terror when the cute little thing leaps on her. She might be a little pupper now, but the girl's fear makes her easy to knock over.]
Its gonna eat me! I just got here and I'm gonna die! I....
[She is being licked. Not bitten, clawed, shredded. Just licked. The embarrassment is obvious on her face. That wasn't just an overreaction, she'd pretty much made an idiot out of herself. Having been knocked over, the puppy on her chest, the only way she has to try and save what was left of her dignity is to reach up and give the animal the pettings she had promised it. Her hand gently rests atop the wolf pup's head.]
T..there...are you happy now?
no subject
Looking over, she could see Tsumuji loving the attention she got. Hard not to smile that that.]
Alright, Tsumuji, you had your fun. Mirai, cocoa is ready whenever you wanna warm up instead of being knocked down.
[And with that, Tsumuji hopped off, rushing to Homura and suddenly lying on it's back, getting some much needed tummy rubs, even kicking its leg as Homura scratched the stomach.]
no subject
...So, that means she likes me? Well, if she is your wolf I guess that sort of makes her part of the team. I guess its only right we get along. Just don't get any funny ideas, puppy!
[But there would be time for power struggles with canines later. Now there was cocoa! She hadn't actually expected to get any when she'd made that little complain. She's already dipped a cookie into it and taken a huge bite out of it before she realizes this means her little bit of whining had been heard.]
Ah...th..thanks. I guess you heard me say I wanted cocoa. I didn't think anyone I knew was gonna hear that. I...I was just cold!
[And she knows she looks small, and if some soft-hearted person saw her, she could probably have got plenty of freebies. Hey, may as well have the advantages of her size to go with the disadvantages!]
A..anyway, I think I understand. Well, I don't. Its all impossible! But I guess it happened. So I'll find a way to get us some money soon.
[She's much less likely to be taken seriously as a combatant, but there's likely SOMEONE that will hire a weird girl wearing an eyepatch.]
no subject
[She rose up, suddenly remembering what she wanted to tell her comrade. Though she looked less than pleased.]
Right, one more thing: be careful who you pick fights with. On top of some of these people being capable of blowing up buildings if they wanted to, there's a wanted guy named Shigaraki.
[Taking out her phone again, she shows Mirai description on the man.]
In a fair fight, I doubt he can take us. But apparently he's smart enough to trap people. Managed to kidnap a girl named Bulla, aka one of those building busters I was talking about. Dunno who he has working alongside him, but if you ever spot him, stay away and spy for now. I wanna get the entire group instead of just some fly.
[Mirai might also note in that description, it said his ability could harm the body with a touch.]
Not dead just kept away by holiday stuff. I live again!
Blowing up buildings?
[If she went all out with her best equipment, Mirai might be able to do that, at least to a Mirai-sized building. But that doesn't change the fact that she sounds a little worried.]
R..right. If I see that guy, I'll just keep an eye on him. He'll never even know I'm watching him.
[Despite the eyepatch, she WAS good at blending into a crowd. Being a head shorter then everyone else came with some minor advantages.]
So don't worry, I won't do anything stupid.
[And now, finally, cocoa! The happiness on her face when it starts to warm her is pretty obvious.]
Its been so long since I had something this good!
[Such a tragic life, considering hot cocoa a luxury at such a young age.]
Cool! Hope it was enjoyable!
So, anything else you wanna know about this place?
no subject
Plenty. So much I don't even know where to begin. But I think I can learn a lot by just going out and seeing it myself. But tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll go get a winter coat. And mittens. Really warm mittens. Some of us can't make our own fire...or aren't covered in fur.
[She's talking about YOU, little puppy!]
no subject
no subject
[The puppy may have shown signs of tolerating her, but there was still lingering doubts. She wasn't any expert with animals, after all. But she wasn't going to let herself look like a failure, or a coward.]
Don't even worry about it. I'll have her eating out of my hand in no time.
[And hopefully not just eating the hand, instead.]
no subject
Or, you could try being hot like me and then the cold wouldn't bother you~
no subject
W...what are you even talking about? I don't have to time for jokes, little girl!
[Of course she doesn't have time, she's busy developing a nice case of hypothermia. And naturally she realizes its hypocritical of her to call someone else a 'little girl'. But she can't be bothered to care. She's cold, confused, and just a little bit hungry.]
no subject
And who's joking? I'm kept warm from sheer force of my beauty~!
