Symphony of Destruction

Who: Kefka, Terra, Fairy Tail, and Marde Guille
What: After waiting for the right time, Kefka decides to make his grand move against Fairy Tail
When: Early morning, 8/23
Where: Fairy Tail guild hall
Notes: EXPLOSIONS~!

It was a fairly normal day in Fayren. The clouds were fluffy and white, the breeze was blowing, everything was green and in bloom... it was sickening. But no more evident was all this than the Fairy Tail guild hall. Kefka had been biding his time, waiting for what seemed like an eternity to the mad god, but it was finally time. Terra had been accepted into Fairy Tail as one of their own, even had some of the mages within teaching her about magic. None of them - not even Terra - really knew what they were sitting on. That glorious beautiful time bomb that was Terra's Esper heritage... Kefka had to work to suppress a giggle and just how perfect this had all gone, and how glorious the carnage would be.

With a quick spin, the rainbow colored garb he normally wore was replaced with more regal emerald armor, shedding the appearance of a jester, and taking up the garb of a regal knight. He walked up to the guild, allowing himself one last grin before opening the door.

[OOC: This is my first time doing a log like this so bear with me. Individual threads will be going up ASAP.]

When "Leo" opened the door, he cleared his throat, looking around. "Would anyone here know the whereabouts of one Terra Branford? I would like to speak with her."

Terra was curled up on a chair in the corner of the main room with a book placed gently on her lap. She usually stayed to the library but today it felt nice to be around the bustle of people as she read. Her green eyes glanced up at the mention of her name and rested on the man standing in the doorway.

She was sure that she didn't know him but then again, she really didn't trust herself with what she knew or didn't know. Terra closed her book and set it to the side of her seat. She wasn't sure about going over to the boy but after a few minutes of staring she was sure he would notice her.

The man's eyes panned over the room, eyes landing on Terra. He offered a warm smile, moving to approach her. "Ah, Terra, there you are. Your uncle said you might be here."

He moved over to her, taking a seat next to her. "How have you been, Terra?"

"My Uncle?" Her voice was soft but curious. It had been awhile since she has heard from the elusive family member. It also explained why she didn't recognize the boy.

Her eyes met his and she gave him a weak smile. "I'm fine. I've been studying here, when I get the chance." Terra shifted nervously in her seat.

"Did he need something from me?"

The man arched his eyebrow before looking a tad bit disappointed. "I see... so what he said was right... you have lost most of your memories..."

He shook his head, hand absentmindedly resting on the illusory blade at his side. He leaned in after a moment, voice hushed. "It's me, Leo, General of the Gestahlian Empire's armed forces."

"L-Leo!" Terra knew the name well, though she hadn't been able to put the name to a face before now. A sharp pain raced through her head as she tried to remember. If he was here...

Her hand went to her forehead as she tried to stifle the pain. She shook her head before looking back up into his eyes, the pain slowly subsiding. "You're here?? How!"

There was a moment where Kefka's face nearly shone through as she reached for her head. This was going far better than he'd hoped. He did settle on a relieved smile.

"I'm not entirely sure myself really. I woke up here a couple hours ago. Your uncle filled me in on the situation."

He turned his head, lowering his voice to a whisper. "Are you sure you are safe amongst these rebels?"

Once the pain was gone her expression softened. "Yes. I'm fine." She had almost forgotten about the mission while being here. They were friends... but could she really afford to have friends.

Her conflicted emotions were evident despite her efforts to hide them.

He nodded, going quiet for a moment before looking as if he remembered something. He perked up, stood and took a step forward. One hand on his blade, reaching his other hand out to touch Terra's shoulder.

"Your uncle has a message for you. It's time."

As his hand made contact with, her, Kefka allowed a flood of his power to flow through the contact, hoping to overload Terra's mind and drive her berserk.

At first she was confused. What was it time for? ...but once he touched her shoulder she felt the flower of power and her eyes widened. She tried to push the power back but it easily overtook her. She quickly stood causing the things around her to clatter to the ground. Her heads reached for her head as the power pushed its way through her. Her small form collapsing under its pressure.

Terra dropped to her knees, holding her torso as she fought. It was her final level of resistance. She screamed. The power around her surged as her body began to shift its form.

Leo stood over Terra, smiling, the illusion starting to tear.

"This is your destiny, Terra. Now follow your orders, and stick to the plan. Destroy the enemies of the Empire! The enemies of your uncle!"

The illusion melted away entirely, his aura unrestrained as he floated upward. "The enemies of your god!"

She felt her pain cover her body as if it was one fire, pure magic sparked from her form as she sat holding herself on the floor. She looked up at those around her and shouted. "You have to get away!"

It was too late... Terra's skin tore as her other form rose to the surface. She rose, her skin white with violet feathers running down her back.

Kefka's laugh echoed through the hall as he rose upward over the now glowing Terra. He swept a hand over his hand, sending a couple fireballs upward, opening a very convenient hole over him to float through.

"COME TERRA! Destroy these pests that call themselves your friends! Show them your true intent! That you saw them simply as obstacles! BURN! FREEZE! SHOCK THEM! I DON'T CARE JUST DON'T LET THEM LIVE!"

Terra rose feeling her magic dance at the edge of her claws. She didn't even watch as she extended her arm in front of her and began releasing her magic. Flare erupted from the ground, appearing as if it's fire, burning all that it touched.

I don't want this destruction... Her own inner voice fought with her as the beast raged, her power surging beyond her control.

It didn't take a raging being of pure magic and power to get Mavis's attention. But still, that's what brought out the First (and also Eighth) Master of Fairy Tail.

She watched as the being she knew to be Terra set part of the Guild Hall ablaze. But a building was just a building. It carried memories, but so did their hearts, and it could be rebuilt. She had more pressing concerns.

"I hope there was more to your plan than this," she said, stepping through the fire. It parted around her as if by magic (protip: it probably was magic) and she made her way closer. She was speaking to Kefka, although her focus was on Terra. "It will take more than this to bring down Fairy Tail."

Kefka just cackled, motioning to Terra. "This? This is just the prelude. Soon, the wailing despair of your little family will be the anthem of this world's new order! I will break this world, and reform it in my image! And the bones of Fairy Tail will serve as its foundation!"

He shoved a hand outward, funneling a bit more of his power into Terra now that a link had been established, though at range it was far less stable. "GO TERRA! BRING DESTRUCTION AS IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT! KILL THEM ALL!"

"Wh-What's going on?! Mavis-san!"

Wendy was confused when she felt something unsettling in the air from her room. Not too long after that, there was an intense feeling of magical power being felt as she the air smelled of something strange and foreboding. The young dragon slayer was surprised to see someone unfamiliar and that scary man she had met months ago.

"Why are you doing this?!"

Wendy shouted from the corner of the blazing room. Why were they attacking their guild!

Terra screamed as Kefka channeled more power into her. A moment later the rush of water hit her small form. She let the water take her not really caring about her own safety.

Power erupted from her hands as three black spheres appeared around her. Their magical energy pulsating as she lost control and released the spell on whatever was in sight.

At this point she didn't care what she hit as long as she hit something. Everything had to be destroyed. NO! She felt herself scream as she watch the destruction around her.

The Esper's purple eyes searched around her for another target.

Mavis pondered the situation as Aquarius's magic swept most of those gathered away as she floated just above the torrent of water. Kefka was the more immediate threat, as far as Mavis was concerned, but.... her main priority was making sure that the members of the Guild remained safe, and for the moment, that included Terra.

So how did one protect somebody who was actively trying to kill them?

Well, it started by making sure that she didn't incinerate anybody she'd care about when this... transformation... passed. She made certain that the three spheres of magic she released wouldn't hit anything besides the guild hall itself (and that it wouldn't bring the entire building down on the heads of those inside) before addressing the members of Fairy Tail already assembled or soon to be joining the fray.

"Fairy Tail! Your priority now is to keep everybody safe!" She gestured to the transformed Terra. "Including her! She's a friend of Fairy Tail!" She turned her attention back to Kefka. She'd have to let the guild handle Terra - hopefully they could find a way. For now, she had to ensure the active and larger threat didn't interfere any more than he already had.

Congratulations, Kefka, you've now earned Mavis's full and undivided attention.

"Right!"

Wendy was overwhelmed by the outburst of Aquarius' powers but she was still on her feet, even if she was soaked from head to toe. There was no time to dawdle around, She quickly outstretched her arms and slowly, she hit both Lucy and Mavis with buffers so they were ensured safety.

"Arms, Armor, Venier!"

She repeated that twice, hitting the two targets in her way, then hitting herself with buffers. Without another second to waste, Wendy moves for the defensive as Mavis commanded.

Kefka just grinned at Mavis, focusing his gaze on her while at the same time keeping an eye on the situation as a whole. He wanted to go after Aquarius, wondering if she were some sort of Esper he could absorb. However, he had bigger fish to fry at the moment.

"Tell me, fairy... what is magic to you~?"

He grinned, giving Terra a hand gesture encouraging her to attack Wendy as he squared off against Mavis.

The Esper nodded at the gesture and turned a snarl towards Wendy. The girl looked small but Terra wasn't in a position to pull any punches. Flare erupted from the ground under Wendy, sending what looked like a fiery pillar towards the sky.

She felt her heart break at the flames but her body continued to move towards the guilds destruction.

Wendy braced herself for the impact of the flames, using her Sky Dragon's Roar to protect herself. She didn't want to hurt someone that Mavis wanted to keep safe, but she had no other choice to but to defend herself. Wendy was apologetic but for her guild she had to at least subdue the person without too much damage to them.

"Sky Dragons Roar!"

She aimed at the fire pillars that were raining on her. If she could advert it, it should be okay. She wanted to advert it away from the guild.

Setting fire to the guild? Really? WEre they trying to bring him a present or something. Natsu quickly started absorbing the flames throughout the building, adding them to his own power. Which explained why as she attacked Wendy, Terra would have to face with a bullcharge from the side from one very gender indiscriminate dragon slayer.

Natsu was there as well. Mavis had no doubt that they would be able to handle Terra - she just hoped they could do it without anybody coming to any great harm. She would have to trust in them, though... and she would have to live up to their own trust in her.

She would ensure that Kefka didn't harm the Guild.

"Magic?" Was this the time to wax philosophical? But she would entertain his question. "Magic is potential. It brings pain, joy, sorrow, happiness. It creates both great good and evil." Gesturing around her to the guild hall and the people within, she continued, "And I choose to believe in the magic created by the bonds of our guild. By combining our strength, ideals, determination, and dreams, we create the greatest magic in the world."

Question answered, she continued, speaking with grim determination, and magic power welling up from within. It was a warm power, a feeling of familiarity and comradery.

"While I lived on as the First Master of Fairy Tail, I made a rule. Kefka. I'll allow you until the count of three before I pass Fairy Tail's judgment as an enemy of the Guild."

"You have until the count of three. Beg for forgiveness."

Kefka grinned, arching an eyebrow. "I have to give you some credit, half-pint. You're partly right. Magic is potential, and it certainly brings pain," he makes a gesture to Terra, all while his skin seems to peel off his very body, dissolving into his godly form.

"However, all things have but one potential that magic inexorably serves... destruction." He wasn't going to wait for Mavis' count, and he certainly wasn't going to allow her to channel whatever spell she was planning on using. Instead, he waved his hand as if throwing something, a large hunk of ice forming from thin air and hurtling toward Mavis, but stopping short. It hung in the air for a moment before Kefka made an impatient noise, and it exploded into a scattershot of razor-sharp shards, heading straight for Mavis.

Terra didn't move away from the attacks that raced towards her. Once again, she cast Ultima, this time the three black spheres danced dangerously close to her body. Her intention was to destroy them all. All that mattered was getting rid of the power that coursed through her small form.

Her blank gaze turned to Natsu as he charged her. With the spell close to her she waited for him before releasing it from her control.

Run! Terra blindly shouted from the depths of her mind, wishing her thoughts could reach her voice. The surge of power hurt as it moved through her and soon her conscience completely slipped away from the fight.

As Natsu comes into the scene, he gets the same treatment of magic buffering. His speed, strength and defense were all upped by the younger Dragon Slayer. She didn't need any time to question what they were going to do. She knew what Mavis had said and she was out to fulfill the orders of the first master. She would try her best to not hurt the person that Mavis told her not to hurt but battles call for injuries, so it can't be fully avoided.

"Magic doesn't always need to be used for destruction! It can help people and save lives! It can protect!"

That is the philosophy of Fairy Tail after all. As Natsu charged at her Wendy went for another attack of her own to distract Terra from Natsu.

"Sky Dragon's Wing!"

With the help of Wendy's buffering to his defense and offense, Natsu suddenly exploded the ground under his feet and launched himself into the air the moment that ball of destructive magic was fired his way.

Then when he got behind her, he fired off flames from his elbows to rotates his entire body and threw a vicious downward kick aimed right at Terra's head.
