4th Program | Video

[Chihiro had purposely turned on the device for a reason. For what the reason might be hasn't become overly clear yet, but never the less it's not facing the young boy it's instead facing a rather plain wall. After around a minute or two it turns back around to finally reveal the young man's face.]

Good morning, everyone. [He has a smile that could brighten up your day as he puts the device down, leaning in closer to it. There had been something he had been thinking about and now seemed like an okay time to see what would happen. He was nervous but he knew it could help.]

I've been thinking lately about the confusion people still get into when they first arrive. Then I got to thinking about this device. [He had gone to his laptop and started to open it, spending a good minute or two pressing buttons. Once he felt conformable enough he continues talking.]

I... want to be helpful in some way so I thought about a program that can help you. Gives you information should you need it, it you give it a calender and puts certain dates on it could remind you, things like that, but I'm not sure if it's really a good idea or not. I mean it's a work in progress and it wouldn't be like the program I currently have. Nor do I actually know how to go about it, but I think having something that could help you is always a good thing right? I guess I kind of want to know if this would be something people would think would be a good idea or not.

Why wouldn't it be?

This wouldn't have anything to do with... what we spoke about before, would it?

You're planning to build a new device? Why not simply a program for the phones everyone is given?

The software itself ought to be simple. Something like a wiki would be sufficient. Do you have those in your world?

[OOC: must... reconcile... silliness of the mental image of Lex using the word "wiki"... with the fact that he'd be too practical not to suggest it.]

So you're in need of a more suitable platform? Lexcorp does have plans to begin manufacturing consumer electronics within Nova City as soon as construction of the necessary facilities is complete.

It would be trivial to import an SDK through the Metropolis gate. If you're fast, you might be able to have a first iteration of your software ready by the time the products hit the Nova City market.

To my understanding, there are two parts to the problem. The first is simply to present more complete information than the pamphlets, such as the identities of City Guardians, in a convenient way.

The second is to provide automated updates to that information, which is the hard part, and no doubt the fun part for you.

The second depends on the first, so you'll have to do it in that order anyway. Why not release the software with the capacity for manual editing, and add automated updating in a later version?

I'll leave the programming to you.
