[When the feed starts, the camera seems to be pointed at something that looks like a giant yellow eyeball, with a black slit in the place of a normal pupil. A voice, youthful and female, can be heard.]

Is it on? Did Desco turn it on right?

[The camera pulls back to reveal that it was indeed an eye, but not one on a person's head. The creature, because there is no other way to describe her, that it was attached to seems to have no shortage of eyes. The one the camera had been focused on was actually on chest, with two others below it looking almost like buttons on her scaly purple outfit. A similar eye can be seen on her head tucked between a pair of reddish horns. Her body is mostly like that of a human, and she looks rather petite as well. But the main and obvious difference is the very not human mass of tentacle covered flesh that seems to be attached to her back. If one can manage to actually pay attention to what is behind her, it looks as if she is near a beach. She likely was a fresh arrival.]

Yay, its working!

[For a moment, she flashes a toothy smile, revealing fangs rather then normal teeth.]

Desco isn't sure how she ended up here, but there is only one reason that she can think of that she would be here. To conquer everything!

[She sounds more like a child talking about a new game she wants to play then a real threat.]

So as of this moment, Desco is the official final boss of...ummm....ummmm....

[There's an awkward moment of silence. It seems she should have read that info better before making her exciting declaration.]

...Wherever this is. It doesn't matter anyway. If any fool of a hero dares to try and stand in Desco's way, then Desco will kill them! Kill them until they die from it! Mwa ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Come forth if you think you are strong enough! Oh...but don't waste Desco's time if you aren't a hero, Desco wants an exciting battle with a worthy enemy, not some stupid chump!

[Mao watches the video, suddenly much more interested in today than he had been moments earlier. He recognizes this girl, because cameo appearances don't have timelines. He stops drumming his fingers on his makeshift dissection table he's made in his apartment, and slams his hands down on it instead. Desco will probably hear the bang from the other side of the video feed, but the face leering down at her is probably more concerning. He's red faced and drooling already.]

[Mao wheezes.] Youuuuu! Tell me where you are right now!

[Poor Desco. All she wanted to do was have an exciting battle filled with explosions and doom against a powerful hero. Instead, she gets a Mao. Her eyes, the human-like ones on her face that is, narrow as she peers at the bespectacled demon.]

Desco doesn't have to tell you anything. Not if you're not a hero! B..besides, Desco doesn't really know anyway. She just woke up!

I'm! ... Not a hero, certainly. But what kind of final boss doesn't monologue endlessly to anyone within hearing distance anyway?

[He's getting distracted, wait... Oh okay. He pulls a hand down his face a moment and calms himself, even if it looks like he's still sweating.]

Is it a cave?

Hmmm. You might be right! Desco must work on her evil monologues. They are as essential to being a final boss as slaughtering countless fools is!

[The tentacled demon looks over her back.]

Not anymore. The cave is over there. There were lots of weird machines in it. It reminded Desco of home kind of.

Hmmm, it seems everyone wakes up in the same place... Interesting! And obviously a final boss needs to perfect their monologuing, otherwise the hero won't have time to prepare himself! It's Overlord 101! You should read more comics.

[She'd never thought of 'final boss' as a way to generate profit. Just as a way to take over the world for her loving big sister.]

What sort of benefits do you offer? Will Desco get a big, neat house and lots of sweets?

[Not that she understands why anyone would really want those, but Fuka always seemed to like the idea!]

[Obviously she is no Dimensional Gatekeeper. She's a final boss. She looks curious at the request.]

Desco is a final boss, she doesn't know how to do gate things. Desco could shoot some lasers at people's faces if that would help. And if you are post game DLC, does that mean you aren't important to the story and you're added just as fanservice?

[It actually doesn't sound like she's trying to be insulting, but perhaps she's thinking of things differently!]

I can't say if I understand what you mean by Final Boss, but I don't thinking taking over is really necessary.

A final boss is one who sinks the world into despair with their evil powers! If Desco didn't conquer things, then she would be a failure. You don't want Desco to be a failure, right?

But Desco is a final boss! That is the sort of thing final bosses do. That is what Desco is made for! Telling Desco to do something else is just being mean. Mean lady!

[Because telling someone to NOT try and conquer the people around them was clearly mean.]

I don't know what a 'final boss' is, but if your goal is to conquer this world, you're one of many who are trying to do so.

[She wouldn't have any idea what an Etherious was if asked, either. There are a lot of things the little demon wasn't aware of. But she was aware she was being spoken to, and responds with childish confidence.]

That doesn't matter. Those who stand in Desco's ways will be killed. To death!

Hmmm. Well, its mostly fools that dare to stand against Desco's great power. Of course those who choose to ally with Desco instead shall be rewarded once she rules all of reality with an iron fist. That is the proper final boss way!

There are at least four others in this world who have said something very similar to that.

The real final boss reduces the heroes to 1hp and then leaves them alive without understanding why.

Or saves them from the boss in the first or second dungeon.

Just yelling 'rawr' and killing everyone is amateur hour stuff.

Desco can't do those things until she knows who the local heroes are! This doesn't seem to be where Desco is from, so she has to gather information before proper subjugation can begin!

Well just find a big hole in the ground to sit in until three or four dopes wander in and start killing everything in sight.

[For a second, it looks like she is seriously considering doing just that. But then she shakes her head.]

That would never work. No one would come to Desco's evil crater if she hadn't already done evil things yet. That would be trying to skip to the end without doing any of the work!
