This is pretty embarrassing, but... So. I've been reading a lot of the books at the library here. Amazing idea, actually. Great praise to whoever invented libraries. Oh but, I bring it up because I found the "science" section. Back home, I think we call that "alchemia." And you so... A lot of your-- or well, the library's--- science is well beyond my understanding.

My point being... I'd be interested to learn more about it. Where can I learn science here? Are there any experts? I feel like learning more about the science in Genessia could significantly improve my own experimenting. We call those who practice alchemia "alchemists" back home, so I'm assuming that I am looking for a ... Scientist? Is that right?

[He'd waited a while and...no bites. Well, wouldn't want someone to enjoy cricket chirps for company, would he?]

Afraid I only know the fundamentals of science myself. Would you like the number to one better versed? He's as omnidisciplined as they come.

All right. [She asked for it.]

Science is knowledge obtained from demonstrations. Truth is its axle, and must be put above all other principles, even freedom, if it comes to that.

The queen of the sciences is theology, as it depends upon revelation, which is infallible. The rest, being more mortal in endeavor, aren't quite so sure. Any science's principles are either self-evident, or proved by a higher science. Music, for example, depends upon arithmetic.

Oh, and the lowest of the sciences is poetry, I think.

[He's just full of fun, foundational facts like that. But maybe that's not what she's after.]

Would one practicing, rather than reciting it, be any interest to you?

[Watching this made her think that is Edward was here or Al they might have gotten along with this one.]

I wish I could help you, but I don't really know anyone who could be helpful.

No, it's more the people I would have known who knew it aren't here and I don't go to Fayren much to know others who might.

Which sort of alchemy are you familiar with? There are several disciplines that fit the heading, ranging from purely mundane to completely magical. Science tends to be of the former variety - purely mundane, utilizing principles of nature and physics, base chemistry and the like to produce a given effect. Magic is... well, magic. It may or may not obey its own rules, depending on who you ask, but the primary determining factor seems to be willpower.

The alchemy that I practice is a mixture of the two - magic and mundane. But I've also studied various branches of science and the occult, completely separate from alchemy. What are you looking to learn?
