[Her arrival was common: Waking in the strange pod, stepping into shallow water, acquiring printed pamphlets along with a holographic presentation... Fayet folds the papers into origami cranes, which rest in her palm for only a brief moment. Which a breath, they take off flying as if they were real birds. 

She hums in amusement at her own magical ability. For now, these first few hours, she'll take it easy. Fayet heads off down the streets of Genessia, with no shoes on her feet and her long lilac hair trailing behind her.]

Interesting... You there. [The young woman points, addressing a stranger with friendly authority in her voice,] How long have you been held captive in this "Genessia?"

Salutations. Genessia, correct? That's how I should greet the general public here? But then, how should I greet our supposed captors? Hm.

How about "thank you?" Thank you, Genessia. For creating an indestructible cage, with lives from so many other worlds-- No, other unvierses. Other omniverses, I'm sure! This is the most excellent place for me to begin. Yes, thank you for this cage and all of these people.

But I'd like to take over now. To all of you comfortable in Genessia: I'll be here now, keeping you content and satisfied. To those of you wishing to leave... Why? Why would you leave this entertaining experiment? Is there an effort in place to leave this place at all? Has any progress been made? Do let me know... I'd like to crush it as soon as possible, and stay with you all. Forever.

...I don't think you'll succeed in that. Incidents will happen, no matter what you do...

Incidents..? So this place is not entirely peaceful?

If you may, please elaborate. I'm unable to assess a problem that I do not understand.

Well...

[She certainly wasn't expecting that question, since the woman brought up the idea of living without incidents to begin with...]

It's hard to elaborate...because the incidents are random, and the most bizarre things happen. Things that you would think are impossible. Some things that are silly, and others that can be serious and harmful...

[fatestrings]

I see...So perhaps, you might describe them as "whimsical?"

[She muses, humming out thoughtful notes until she finds the appropriate words.]

If this place were run by a machine and programs, I would have expected an answer of "methodical, predictable," like weather. But if these incidents are more inclined to whimsy, perhaps they are instead determined by a being with freewill. Someone that I could persuade to stop tormenting you all so.

I guess...whimsical might work?

[It's about as good a word as any to describe it...]

It could be...but no one's ever been able to communicate with the beings responsible. But if you can persuade them to stop these things, maybe you can persuade them to send us home as well...?

But why leave, dear? Are you not happy here?

My home world is in danger. If I don't stop it, everything will be lost...

[fatestrings]

Is that so? And yet... For how long have you been trapped here, would you estimate?

I've been here for...over two years now...

[fatestrings]

At that rate... If time continues on in your home, then so should you. The ability to be picky about what worlds you live in is not common, or one to be granted. Instead, life has the ability to adapt and evolve to suit their unique circumstances.

You ought focus on adapting and being comfortable.

[liorafae]

I can't do that! It's been determined that time doesn't continue on in our own worlds. I just can't get comfortable here knowing that something terrible will happen in my own world...

[fatestrings]

For what reason, my dear? Unfortunately, there is little to nothing that can be done for your home right now. But to look down upon this world, as if it does not deserve living in... Is that not a touch arrogant?

I'd say you should live in the moment. Time has stopped back home, but it still flows here. And it still flows for you, hm?

[liorafae]

It's not that I look down on this world. It's just that...when we get back home, we won't remember this place. No matter what happens, the good or the bad...all of it will mean nothing.

My home, my friends, everything else I hold dear...I can't turn my back on it.
