[Ace is sitting and staring, brows furrowed a little. This whole situation has really gotten him frustrated. He went from either dying, or being damn close to it, to this. And while he's absolutely fine with not having his life ended, there's no amount of questions that are unanswered and he's worried for the people left behind. He really did screw up, there was so much he could have done differently, so much trouble he could have saved for those who had to suffer because of his choices and convictions. He's not even sure that his attempt to save his brother worked, and he's not certain he can handle not knowing if those left behind will be okay or not.

It's easier to live without regrets when death is actually the end and you don't have to experience any further consequences.

And now, he's got this second chance but it's overwhelming somehow. He's not going to take for granted a round two at life, but where to go from here when everything is so new and different is exhausting to think about. And somehow exciting too. He's got an idea of what he needs to do, but he's still a little in shock about the whole situation.

After about a minute, he realizes that he's been filming himself, and actually decides to speak.]

Okay, so I'm-[Ace stops mid-sentence, and his head rolls back at an awkward angle. And he starts to snore, while the camera just keeps recording. This goes on for quite a while, unfortunately. And then as suddenly as he passed out, he jerks upright again and blinks. It's a confusing day as is, and narcolepsy doesn't help with that.] Damn. Happened again. Anyway, I'm Ace. If you've got any good information that might help a guy out, I might make it worth your while. [He probably won't.]

Yeah, one would think. [Her looks are totally a part of it, she's cute enough, but those teeth take her to a whole new level of interesting. Besides that, she seems like fun so far, and the accent doesn't hurt either.

That sigh has his attention.] So how much alcohol and who's gonna need to drink it? I just want some details, because this kinda has to do with me.

[Well, her looks were definitely apart of that.. along with her delightful personality, vicious nature and the fact she's been through near literal hell and survived...Before she met Namur and Marco and Grell.]

More zhan ve can buy at any bar and probably both of us. Its near impossible for me to get drunk vithout massive effort so...It's more of a 'I need a distraction to think' type drinking.

Besides, drinking vith friends und family is fun. And yes, it haz to do vith you so you really ought to know.

Okay, so if we get you some booze, you'll help me understand? I'm not sure where I stood with him back then, he acts like it was nothing, then something, and everyone's got a story.

[Somehow as frustrating as this was, it was also amusing.]

However, vith Smoker, it boils down to he didn't zhink vat happened vith you vas right und it didn't sit vell vith his morals. Beyond zhat, he seems to haf a zhing for men vith...colorful personalities.

[Which amuses her to no end and as far as she was aware, was a good description of Ace.]

So if you two vere an item a few vorlds back, He might be just flustered vith another you showing up~. Besides, he's fun to fluster and it's so easy it may as vell be a drinking game.

I'd say run vith it und see vat happens.

[He tilts his head, smiling a little again.] It sounds like he's got issues. But hey, I'm fine with making someone flustered. Especially if that someone has reactions like he does.

[She's definitely a good fit, and Ace likes her already. Which is good, he's the type to play nicely for the sake of his crewmates no matter how he feels about a person, if one of Pops' sons cared about someone enough to stay with long term, they're important and to be treated as such. But it's a lot easier to do when he seems to get along with one of those people from the start.]

Okay, how much worse should I make them? Because this is starting to seem like a challenge. [And Ace loves a challenge.

[At this point in her life, Rip gets along with most people to varying degrees. She's just always happy to meet more people to consider family. That alone has become important to her in recent years...it's something she never realized she needed until she met Namur.

Then again, Namur's helped her through a lot of shit in the last few years.]

Maybe it is~. Vorse enough he admits vatever it is zhat's bozhering him to you. Considering how stubborn he is, it may take avhile or at least some damn strong alcohol considering he has quite zhe tolerance.

Zhat also goes for just talking too. Places like zhis can be a real trip first time around, especially if you just came from a point in your life zhat vas.. traumatic.

[While Ace doesn't know what she's thinking, for obvious reasons, he'd understand in a way if he did. Family means everything, and loneliness eats up at a person in a brutal way. He felt so alone for so long, and his brothers helped him to open up a little and be a better person. And then after that, Whitebeard's crew. He never lacked in family, and love, once he'd accepted it. But the problem is keeping closed off enough to be safe, but open enough to accept what you need.

He'd be glad to know that Namur helped her through things. And he already appreciates someone who can keep up with his friend and crewmate.]

I'm up for this. He's great when he's flustered, and besides, I wanna know what made me actually want this in the past. I'm not the kinda guy who goes around banging with Marines, so this is a hell of an eye opener and I need more details.

As for vat Marco isn't talking about, I might be able to help, I might not. I'm not sure. All I can say iz zhat I've only been vith zhem for zhe last two vorlds so, I don't know every story.

I wanna know all about her. What's she like?

I vent through something similar in zhe first vorld I ended up in as vell. I just didn't get answers right avay und it left me...vithout closure until I found out.

[He's honestly glad that she's a part of his family now. This isn't the bonding he'd prefer, drinking and fun is way preferable, but her honesty means so much to him. And while his heart is aching and he wishes that he didn't have to deal with this at all, he also gets to go further from here. [In the last few years, she had to really think about what happened and even begrudgingly admit she deserved everything she got and the spiral she ended up in afterwards... a very destructive spiral that left her pretty damaged mentally.]

It took me a few years und a bit more damage before I came to zhat startling realization. Now, zhe queston is.. how are you going to do zhings right und vat are you going to do vith your fresh start?

Zhat sounds almost like a plan~. But, it is a good start. Zhere's a lot of freedom to be had here. Zhough, I'd suggest not causing too much trouble.
